Description:

You will send one partner one ATC which you make using the following steps. Some steps require specific TH material to be used and are in bold text so be sure you have them!

If you have any pointers/comments/suggestions on this swap I always welcome them!

1 Grab or make a non-porous ATC blank (like glossy cardstock, yupo paper, vellum, acetate, etc)

2 Choose at least 4 medium to deep colors of TH or Adirondack alcohol inks and apply a little bit of each, in separate areas, to the felt on your blending tool. Press felt all over the ATC to cover completely. Let dry (~10 seconds).

3 Choose any TH layering stencil, though stencils with thick lines will work best for this. Layer stencil on top of ATC.

4 Remove the felt pad and set aside. Place blending foam on blending tool and apply a small amount of TH alcohol ink blending solution to the middle of your foam. First dab on to your craft sheet to spread solution over foam and test wetness, you don't want it soaking wet.

5 Lightly press foam through over the stencil to lighten areas of your ATC. Allow to dry and repeat as necessary. A very light application, or multiple light applications if needed, is key here. Once you're happy allow to dry completely (~20 seconds). (Note: you can wash your foam pad with soap and water and reuse but I'm not sure how other mediums will now work with it, best to keep it for this technique.)

6 Replace the felt pad used in step 2 on to your blending tool. Carefully drop one drop of blending solution on each colored area, make sure you're not soaking the felt. Aim for slightly wetter than damp, you just want to reactivate the remaining alcohol ink.

7 Choose a different TH layer stencil and place on top of ATC. Press the blending tool on top of the stencil to create another layer of ink. You will have to press firmly to make it through the stencil which is why it's important your felt is not soaked. If you're not getting anything, try adding a little bit more blending solution and test wetness on your craft sheet.

8 Optional - If you think you need to, repeat with another TH layering stencil and either the blending solution on foam technique or the slightly-wetter-than-damp alcohol ink felt pad.

~Remember: If you're not happy with the result, you can ALWAYS start over again on the same piece at step 2.~

9 Finish off your ATC in your typical TH fashion (stamped images, metallic embellishments, small die cuts, string, tag, saying, etc.) but don't cover up too much of your hard work.

Note: Remember if you're going to stamp you can only use a waterproof permanent ink like archival ink.

10 Attach a sturdy backing to your ATCs which includes at least the ATC title, your username, and date. Send your ATC to your partner.

I hope to host more of these but need to know what TH products everyone owns, so please comment on this thread.

If you have any questions, sending a pm is the quickest way to reach me. I do try to check for comments on my swaps but sometimes I am not timely :-/

If there any issues with your partner following steps please inform @choke before rating down. I think it is common sense that there is always a chance that the steps were misinterpreted so some graciousness should be allowed here.

As always I will angel if you are flaked on but only if you have rated your partner a 1.
