Description:

This is just a regular 'ole postcard swap. The rules are simple:

  1. Send 1 store bought postcard to each of your 2 partners.

  2. This is sender's choice, but feel free to check out your partner's profile and cater to their likes.

  3. YOU MUST WRITE MORE THAN 2 SENTENCES. Write about whatever you want - the weather, an interesting conversation you had, your pet, what you did last weekend, a cool snail you found, etc.

Newbies are welcome, but please take the time to really fill out your profile. I reserve the right to remove you from the swap if you just have a few lines. Look at other profiles for examples if you're not sure what to write about. The more people know about you and your likes, the easier it is for them to make what they're sending extra special for you! (This doesn't really apply to this swap since it is sender's choice, but it is a helpful hint for swap-bot in general).

I will angel if necessary.

Happy Swapping!!

Perhaps send your swaps that are two+ years old before hosting new ones?

My profile lists all of my updates pertaining to those ratings in the section titled "Low Ratings." The swaps no longer show their addresses because they are closed. I cannot send their items until they respond to my messages with their addresses. Please understand that I have done everything in my power to correct those mistakes, but my hands are tied until they respond.

I'm just pointing out (especially to newbies that don't know better) that with your history of flaking, late rating (2+ years late), silent ratings... so, overall poor swapping ... members should beware of swaps hosted by you. You should really try to correct and prove yourself BEFORE joining more swaps AND before hosting swaps. "MY hands are tied" is not a good excuse. How can you be trusted to angel when you can't be trusted to send your swaps?

Join at your own risk, people.

My attempts to correct the swaps are documented in detail in my profile as mentioned in my previous comment. If there is another course of action that I can take, I would truly love to know what it is. The first woman has not been on since August 2017. The second was previously not on since October 2017, then finally logged back in this October. It shows that she read my message, but chose not to respond. How can I send their swaps if I don't have their addresses? In my opinion, it would be a breach of privacy to seek their email addresses or regular addresses from other people. If there is another way, please tell me because I would love to resolve this.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, but I personally think that it is pretty clear I am a trustworthy swapper since I currently have 99 5 ratings since coming back in September and I was able to correct the other two 1 ratings with the cooperation of my partners. I have also hosted 2 other swaps without issue. I have been very transparent throughout the whole process and would love any advice from the community if there are other actions I can take.

I did respond to your PM. Any active swapper who read but didn’t respond, I’d reach out again or ask the host to intervene. Perhaps it isn’t right to get their address from someone else - I wasn’t sure about asking the swap host - so that I do agree with - but they can still intervene.

We each have our stance, and we both have our own frustrations from each side of this. I have a hard time trusting swappers that come back and expect I rely on their good rating since they’ve been back. Ultimately, I don’t need to join this swap. I just want people to know what to look out for especially this time of the year. What’s to say you’re not going to up and flake again? Especially since it was not expected the first time. You could be a delightful person who just messed up, but your performance as a swapper is all I know of and about you.

Like I said in my PM, I do appreciate that you’ve come back with your profile and have not created another since that’s really against the guidelines. And I do appreciate you’ve reached out and tried to correct unsent swaps and 1s. My point was merely to get it fixed before going full speed ahead with swapping again. Sometimes, it’s frustrating to have to wait to fix things but exhibiting some patience while it gets sorted out (what CAN be sorted out anyways) is important. You’ve frustrated other swappers and we just had to suck it up - my point was maybe you should too - accept that you should make good on your commitments before making new ones. That’s all I was trying to express.

I do apologize if I come off as hateful or jaded or rude or cynical, but my frustration lies on getting burned from people with the same pattern of behavior. But I do hope it all works out.
