Description:

For this swap you will be creating an ATC with a stained glass style design, using a grid method and a six sided die.

Supplies you will need: A sturdy ATC backing, a pencil, a black marker, 12 different colored pencils, and a six sided die.

  1. Lightly draw a grid on your ATC.

  2. Use a black marker to create your "lead lines" and to fill in any areas that aren't "glass." The "glass" should take up the majority of your ATC.

  3. Choose twelve colors and assign two colors to each number. Make a key on a separate piece of paper, to use while completing the ATC. We are assigning two colors to each number in order to avoid placing the same color in two squares next to each other. If you'd rather limit your palette to six colors and re roll when you get two the same next to each other, that is also fine.

  4. Now for the fun part! For each square in your grid roll the die and fill in the square with one of the corresponding colors that you assigned to that number.

  5. Put your info on the back and mail it to your partner.

  6. Admire your partner's work and show it by rating them when you receive their swap.

Does it matter what size the grid spaces are? Do they need to be even, or can the spaces vary?

They should be even, but you can choose the size, as long as they aren't too big. I used a quarter inch on mine and it seemed like a pretty good size. I believe @bug did hers a bit bigger and that worked pretty good too :)
