Description:

~Updated 4/9~ This swap has reached 10 swappers, so it is now closed. MAILING DEADLINE MOVED UP TO APRIL 24! -

There is new USA-only swap open, #3050, and a new Int'l swap - #3054. Hope to see some of you THERE also!

If you would like to be a part of them "come on over", or tell anyone who did not get a chance to be a part of this one.

  • group size is limited to about TEN swappers each.

This swap is for a journal that you decorate, and then, like a Friendship Book "fb" (see my website for more info about those) - send it onward, to a first "swap partner". (You will be assigned ONE partner thru swap-bot.)

Then THAT person decorates a page or two, writes some fun/inspirational/poetic/encouraging things, adds some embellishments, etc, and then sends it ONWARD to their swap partner, the "next name" on the list - and so on...

Every person in the swap will add their talents/inspiration to every other person's journal!

The journal begins its travels in the hands of its OWNER - the person who will end up with it at the end. So pick out something YOU like, and begin decorating/embellishing it right away.

NOTE: Please be willing to commit to sending the journal onward within 5 DAYS after receiving it, so that it does not take TOOOOOO long to make its journey.

(Ya with me so far?)

The group size is limited to about 10 swappers, and you MUST have a rating of at least 4.8 to join.

If you have ANY no-send ratings, please contact me before signing up, or clear them up before the deadline. This group has a major responsibility of carefully handling every person's journal, and I do not want to introduce the possibility of any of them being "misplaced" along the way.

Two weeks from sign-up deadline to sending off your journal - you can get it now, and start decorating it -

IMPORTANT - - BE SURE TO PUT YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS (AND SWAP-BOT NAME), SOMEWHERE INSIDE THE FRONT OR BACK COVER OR SOMEPLACE VERY VISIBLE!

TO AVOID THE POSSIBILITY of missing someone on the list, and also to be better able to "track down" any missing journals, each "journal journey" will be the same - in other words, you will always send to (and receive from) the SAME partners.

I'm Sorry, but since this is a pretty major undertaking, newbies will not be a part of this group at this time. I want everyone to get their wonderfully decorated journals BACK when they are DONE! (This swap will be run again, probably each month, which gives you time to receive some great ratings before joining us.)

While you CAN check out people's profiles when you are decorating their journals, I want you to put YOURSELF into your expression, and be creative with it.

Hope we can have some fun with this! Any questions, comment below or message me.

gramsbuttonbox 03/26/2007 #

one of the most important notes - when putting your name and address on the journals, PLEASE also include your swap-bot name/id - so many of us use nicknames, that it is often difficult to know WHO it is from.

If you have any questions, just post them here, or message me directly -

I hope we can have lots of fun with this, have a good week, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 1/2007 #

There is an international swap going on right now, and there are some excellent comments and ideas listed in the comments section there - since that swap is closed, you cannot find it "on the list", so please go to

http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/2780

You can get your journals already and begin decorating/embellishing them, right away, so they will be ready to send when you receive your partners.

Have some FUN with it! MaryB

Nathalie 04/ 2/2007 #

What is the size of the journal?

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 2/2007 #

Hi Nathalie, and welcome!

Since you would be picking out YOUR own journal, and it would start its travels from there, and going all around the group, pick something that YOU like - I've seen some really nice ones that run about 9 inches by about 6 inches, or so - I've also seen nice square ones - wire bound or classic bound - which ever YOU like -

be kind, and don't pick something that is TOO heavy, as there may be 10 people sending it around the world!

hope that helps, and yes, you can get your journal immediately and begin to decorate/embellish it, right away.

The other international swap has some photos in the gallery, if you need any inspiration - and please read the comments there also, there are lots of great ones.

(swap # 2780)

have a good week, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 6/2007 #

Since newbies are not a part of the group, if any do sign up, I will be contacting them, asking them to wait until they have some excellent ratings, before joining this swap.

It may seem harsh, but it is the only way I can hopefully try to assure each of the swappers that each one WILL get their journals back after they make the circuit.

If you are new to swap-bot, welcome - and good luck in ALL your swaps - this round robin journal swap will be repeated every other month, or oftener, so we DO look forward to having you join us soon!

(If you have already signed up, please remove yourself until you have some good ratings, or I will have to remove you before partners are assigned.)

And I am happy that you want to be a part of this wonderful swap idea - so please check back, and if you haven't already, try joining some "fast turnaround" swaps, so you can get rated quickly.

have a good week, everyone, MaryB

mediatinker 04/ 7/2007 #

This will be such fun! Mail from Japan is usually not too slow, so I hope I won't be holding up the works for the next person in line. My journal will be a lightweight one, to ensure it's not too much of a hassle or expense to mail around.

liniecat 04/ 7/2007 #

Sounds smashing...........I'm in. !!

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 7/2007 #

It's great to have you aboard, I see a couple familiar "faces" from the other int'l round robin that is going on right now - I honestly had NO idea how inspiring and addictive this could be - -

"artsy round robin journals" - I'm really lovin' it!

No need to apologize, for being overseas, we all signed up for this swap knowing what it meant, and if ANYONE is not able or prepared for the responsibility of mailing these journals around the world, please remove your name before the deadline.

That brings up another point - there may be times during this process when you might have more than one journal in your possession at a given time. You CERTAINLY can mail them together, since they will be always going to the same person. (will save on mailing costs) - -

Just be sure to add something to every journal, before sending it off! LOL

Also be sure to SIGN the pages you do for each other, and make sure your own name and address (and swap-bot "name) are clearly visible on either the front of back cover some place.

have a great time with this, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 8/2007 #

It's funny sometimes how long it takes for something to sink in, (with the other int'l swap going on now,) I am finally realizing how wonderful round-robin journals are - they're inspiring, addictive and SO MUCH FUN! -

I find myself so eager for the next journal to arrive, and am eager to send it onward...

Please remember to "keep us posted" once the process begins, truly, it's fun to read about little pieces of your day, and how inspired you all have been, seeing and adding to each other's journals!

ALWAYS - remember to sign the pages that you do for each other!

happy easter, everyone, and have a good week, partners will be assigned SOON! MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 8/2007 #

With NINE swappers already signed up for this swap, I MAY be shutting it down before the 16th. (The now-running int'l swap has 11 swappers, and that is comfortable)

PLEASE - if for any reason, you do not think you are able to commit to this swap, (because yes, you will be sending about TEN journals in the mail) - please remove yourself before the deadline, or contact me.

We all do understand rt conflicts, and hope you will join us in a later swap.

I have received several requests to continue this swap, (USA and Int'l) monthly, and yes, it gets easier with each one! Plus it is SO much fun!

artsy round robin journals!

Thank you to ALL of you for making it possible! MaryB

yarnpie 04/ 9/2007 #

Ok, I think that I read through everything and I can't find an answer to this. Is the 24th the date we send our own journals? Then 5 days for each one after that?

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 9/2007 #

Hi Joanne, thanks for writing - while that is the "deadline", hopefully, we might each get our own journals sent off sooner - in fact, partners will be assigned within 24 hours - and as soon as you have yours done, yes, please send it off -

every journal we receive, from others, yes, please try for a 5-day turnaround.

(that means, you MIGHT receive one before you've sent off one - that's fine, get them both completed, and send them both on their way)

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 9/2007 #

emails have been sent to everyone - partners have been assigned - you will be hearing from me HERE (via swap-bot) about your "receives from" partner, so you can be watching for those packages.

Enjoy! and have a great week, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 9/2007 #

PLEASE NOTE -

This swap has a wonderful assortment of international swappers! (only 3 in the USA) - so everyone - be patient with your partners, try not to keep any journals very long, but allow for time for these beauties to travel around the world!

Just to give you a HINT - - EVERY journal is going around the world THREE times!!! We surely will treat them with respect when they return Home!

whew!!! MaryB

ddnuland 04/ 9/2007 #

I am SO excited. It is my first time to do a swap like this and I just can't wait. First leg of my little journal's journey Sweden to Japan. How cool is that?

mediatinker 04/10/2007 #

I decided to make my journal using a tutorial I saw a while back on WhipUp. It's my first bound book and a touch wonky, but I love it. It's drying under a heavy dictionary now and will be in the mail within a couple of days. Hope it survives traveling the world three times over!

gramsbuttonbox 04/10/2007 #

I think with this COMMITTED group of wonderful swappers, everyone will take very good care of each other's journals, and will be sure to mail them in a VERY timely manner.

PLEASE - be sure your own name, address, and swap-name are clearly shown, somewhere on your own journal, and also be sure to SIGN the pages you do for each other.

Enjoy, everyone, this is such fun! MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/10/2007 #

here in the USA, "Delivery Confirmation" on a package is only 60 cents extra. And it can be tracked ONLINE -

I do not know what it would be for other places in the world, but it is surely a worthy investment!

Please consider it, and find out the details of it where you are.

MaryB

mediatinker 04/10/2007 #

In Japan, "Advice of Delivery" is an extra 290 yen (about $2.50). It is not traceable online nor available for every destination.

Registered mail is 410 yen ($3.50) extra and it is traceable and available globally.

Registered mail requires the recipient's signature. Is that going to be OK for everyone?

gramsbuttonbox 04/10/2007 #

mediatinker - I'm not your send-to partner, but think it would be much safer to include it, and I'm sure your partner in Belgium would appreciate it as well.

just my thoughts, MaryB

yarnpie 04/11/2007 #

I don't think I can track packages sending outside the US with the delivery confirmation. Unless they changed it recently... I really wish they would because I have had international packages lost and there's nothing you can do.

gramsbuttonbox 04/11/2007 #

I understand...and that really is too bad -

be sure to post here that it's been sent, so that the "receivers" can be watching for them -

and I do not mean for anyone to spend lots of money of finding ways to track these....it's just, "if it's easy, and inexpensive", it's surely something to think about adding.

hope that helps, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/11/2007 #

Everyone - please - if you haven't thought of it yet - would LOVE to see pictures posted to the gallery - that is an inspiration all by itself!

have a great week everyone!

*be sure to SIGN the pages you do for each other, *remember to POST here that you've sent them on their way, *and YES, you CAN send off more than one at a time,

MOST IMPORTANT - have FUN with these!

Enjoy! MaryB

mediatinker 04/12/2007 #

I failed to take a photograph of it before I mailed it, but my journal is on its way to Belgium today.

Nathalie 04/20/2007 #

Mediatinker received your journal yesterday and will be sending it on probably after the weekend.

Nathalie 04/20/2007 #

Brenda I'm sending today your direction ; )

bren 04/20/2007 #

Thanks Nathalie, I'll be watching for it.

Marieke, I mailed my journal to you today. I sent it Global Priority, so it should get there quickly.

mediatinker 04/20/2007 #

It's good to see everyone's journal's moving around! I know there's one on it's way from Sweden to me now.

mediatinker 04/21/2007 #

Elisabeth, your journal arrived safely from Sweden today. I'll try to have it in the mail on its next leg by Tuesday.

gramsbuttonbox 04/21/2007 #

tIREEN - your pkg is on the way - delivery conf #0307 0020 0004 1268 6858

hope you have fun with it -

I'm "between" journals at the moment - boo hoo - - i wanna play too! hahahahaha

have a great week everyone, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/21/2007 #

just a note - I HAVE sent my journal, but have NOT clicked the "sent" button - with five of these rr swaps going right now, it's easier for me to keep track of them, if they are listed at the TOP of the "my swaps" page -

once I click that button, they will all move to the bottom - - and as the host, I want to keep track of things and the progress of these little beauties!

MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/21/2007 #

Please note - if you have NOT yet sent your journal, the deadline is coming up - please try to get it done and mailed by TUESDAY (the 24th) - we are all eager and waiting for these little beauties to make the circle, so get on them if you haven't yet, and be sure to POST HERE when they are sent.

have a good weekend, everyone, MaryB

Nathalie 04/22/2007 #

I'm sending N° 2(mediatinkers) to Brenda ; ) Don't succeed to get pictures in the gallery but will put some on my flickr page ; ) Waiting for the next one, so excited !

AngelFaeryKathleen 04/22/2007 #

Hi Gram's Button Box, my book is winging it's way to you from New Zealand, so keep and eye out in 7 to 10 day. I did not scan or take photos of it so feel free to do so your end. Have fun with it!

gramsbuttonbox 04/22/2007 #

I'll be watching for it, and can hardly wait - I'm "between journals" right now, even with three of these RR swaps going on right now - so can hardly wait!

My daughter lived in NZ for a time and sometimes I'd get her mail in THREE days! it takes longer than that to go across town sometimes! hahahaha

have a good week, MaryB

yarnpie 04/23/2007 #

Mine went to New Zealand on the 1st leg of it's journey today. I posted a pic in the gallery. I'm so excited to get my first journal to decorate!

PS - I'd also like to keep mine at the top of my swaps, so I won't be marking it sent until the end of this little adventure :)

gramsbuttonbox 04/23/2007 #

the pics are SO beautiful! and what an inspiration!

I do have to CAUTION everyone tho - these artsy round robin journals are highly addictive!!!

be warned!!

MaryB

mediatinker 04/23/2007 #

tIREEN 04/23/2007 #

tIREEN

gramsbuttonbox 04/23/2007 #

((in case anyone is interested - - the USA only swap that has been going, just reached ten swappers and I closed it today)) -

I WILL be starting another, but will wait a couple days to see if the int'l version gets any higher than 8, where it is now (that's a pretty comfortable number too) - - and would then start them both together, like I've been doing.

(keeping track of these is not "hard" but it is a little confusing if too many have different dates! whew!)

anyway, if anyone IS interested, just be watching, or let me know that you want to be informed when I open the next "set" -

have a good week MaryB

yarnpie 04/24/2007 #

I'd like to be in a USA only one if you start another.

gramsbuttonbox 04/24/2007 #

have opened another USA rr journal swap - it is swap #3417 (just change the number in the address bar)

hope to see any of you in the USA "over there" also -

there is room for maybe 1-2 swappers in the other int'l swap, #3054 - if you are interested in being a part of more than one - when that one either reaches 10-11, or by Saturday, I will be closing it, and opening another int'l swap.

these really ARE addictive - there are several great swappers who are a part of more than one - so "jump in, the water's fine!"

have a great week, MaryB

tIREEN 04/26/2007 #

My journal went to Elisabeth Mueller Nylander today!

Lyuba aka tIREEN

MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/27/2007 #

has everyone sent their OWN journals off?

I have not heard or seen anything from marieke or linie, - about your OWN journals - or has anyone RECEIVED theirs? Please let me know!

just checking, everyone, I want this to be a TOTALLY fun and successful swap!

MaryB

mediatinker 04/27/2007 #

"Golden Week" starts today in Japan - 5 public holidays within seven days. Mail isn't delivered during GW and always sluggish for a days or two after the holiday, so don't panic if you don't hear anything from me...

gramsbuttonbox 04/28/2007 #

thanks for letting us know - we appreciate the "head's up" - and hope you have a good festival week!

liniecat 04/29/2007 #

I posted my journal off to Joanne already ( from UK) and forgot entirely to post that it was going-going-gone on the thread here............so despite all the inspiring emails from gram..........I still didnt follow the plan! (I'll improve, you'll see!) If its not there already then its at least almost there! Actually I made my own pages and cover this time, this being my first ever fb book swap, I couldnt decide on what to buy to alter, so many seemed heavy before they were altered! so did my own but it may end up as Chapter 1 in a much larger tome! I hadnt considered that some things may not be 'allowed' within mail entering Australia so guess we should avoid anything alive and customs suspect!!! Well as one would anyway! :) Lyn

liniecat 04/29/2007 #

Joanne I tell you what I didnt do, and had meant to do! I was going to put the swap round number............. ie. 2788 on the inside cover, so that folk would know which swap it was from.......follow me? lol Cos I figure I could get confused so someone else might too......would you write it on the inside cover for me please Joanne? Maybe even on the envelope too for posting on? AND Id meant to take pic to post............bvrainless or what! it all started going wrong for me after pregnancy lol!!!!

yarnpie 04/30/2007 #

Sure thing! I haven't received it yet, but I'm sure it'll be here in the next coupla days. I am so excited to get started!!!

yarnpie 05/ 8/2007 #

Angel Faery - Linie's journal will be in the mail tomorrow headed towards you. I had fun decorating it and can't want to receive the next set :)

marieke 05/ 9/2007 #

Hi Linie, Thanks for letting me know that the journals are in England and almost at your place LOL. I'm always a little worried when swaps are in the mail. Linie if you have to little time before you go to hospital to work in both journals please work in Brenda's first, you can sent mine out after you're back from hospital.

I wish you all the best on monday.

gramsbuttonbox 05/ 9/2007 #

I just want to thank you ALL for the wonderful job of posting here, and keeping us on top of where these little precious bundles are in the world!

With five (active) RR journal swaps going on right now,I've hearned that communication really IS the key - (#6 swap will close in a week)

and you are such a fabulous and FUN bunch - I'm honored and so happy to be a part of this great group!
have a fun week, everyone, MaryB

liniecat 05/ 9/2007 #

Thanks so much Joanne for sending my book on the next leg of its jouney. I used to fly for a living and miss it still, so it seems really lovely that a book is flying round the world for me now!!! :)

gramsbuttonbox 05/10/2007 #

As I'm sure many of you know, postal rates in the US are going UP Monday, the 14th. So, hint, hint, hint, if you are in the US, and have any journals sitting around, get them sent by Saturday, or you will be hit with the higher rate -

BUT - the "second ounce" or more rate, is going DOWN!

ALSO - "Priority" and "Express" packaging, even if it says "Domestic Use Only" will now be valid for International mail.

Not sure if anyone knew that - have a good week, MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 05/10/2007 #

Hi Joanne, i posted your book on to Gram's button box on Thursday, it was a lovely book to work in. Bram's button box as it is coming parcil post the post office said it may take a little longer thay my book that came as a letter. :-0

tIREEN 05/10/2007 #

Angel Faery's journal is gonna be on it's way to Sweden tomorrow! And it's in bright yellow envelope too! I knew that envelope was destined for something good!!! :P

Lyuba aka tIREEN

yarnpie 05/11/2007 #

Thank you Angel Faery Kathleen for taking care of my journal :)

gramsbuttonbox 05/11/2007 #

That's just fine Angel Faery, thanks for letting me know- I'll be watching for it - and I do not think that anyone has any cause for worry here, the journals ARE moving, and I really think that everyone is having a blast! I really AM addicted to these journal round robins - I honestly had NO idea when I started this how wonderful it would be.

have a great weekend, everyone, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/11/2007 #

As I've alluded to on some of these swap pages, sometime perhaps mid-summer, I'm thinking of having a "Hand-made" journal swap, like these - and I've just seen some gorgeous TINY journals - like 3"x5" (index card size), up to maybe 4" x 6" - I think that just might be perfect - toss the idea around in your heads a little bit, and let me know what you think....

I think it would be FUN - and would be SO easy to mail them!

MaryB

mediatinker 05/11/2007 #

tlREEN, your journal arrived in Japan today. I'll work on it tomorrow and get it in the mail to Belgium on Monday.

Elisabeth, thanks for the surprise May treat. Your sparkly envelopes are great fun and the size of that postage stamp is stunning. :-)

tIREEN 05/11/2007 #

Got Angel Faery's journal mailed today! :)

AngelFaeryKathleen 05/12/2007 #

Hi tIREEN thank you for your work in my journal.

Like G B B I love altered books and I am working in 5 round robin books, 3 here on swap-bot, one within New Zealand and one between N Z and Australia. They are such fun to do and seeing all the work everybody puts into the books. Then at the end of it you have a wonderfull book to look back on. I also work on a book of my own at the same time as I work on all the others, I try out my ideas in my book as I work on a book for another person and then I have a simalar page/pages in my book. Than way I have a record of all the books I have worked on with that persons name of that book. Great and I love it. Last year I did a altered board book and a deco and make 2 seperat books this year it is all going into one large book.

mediatinker 05/12/2007 #

Oh, I like the idea of keeping a record. I've already forgotten what I did in the first journal that I got in the RR. I'm sure if I don't make notes or create a duplicate page, I'll have forgotten entirely by the time we're done!

gramsbuttonbox 05/13/2007 #

just a reminder everyone - PLEASE rate your partners, if you haven't already - we have all worked SO hard on these, and everyone is doing SUCH a fabulous job posting and keeping us aware - -

thanks, MaryB

liniecat 05/13/2007 #

Working on Brendas journal now, off into hospital tomorrow for an overnight then 6 weeks in plaster. Will probably get Brens posted for me when I come out on tues or weds, will let you all know on here though. Dont know how you keep track of so many robin swaps......if I dont send one of these journals to the wrong person it will be a miracle and Im only in 2 at the moment! Can I ask that everyone puts the swap number on the outside of their envelopes when posting.I will do the same too.....lol....I may be the missing link in this chain, even though the enthusiasm is all there lolol Fabulous book Bren and Mariekes is SO lovely and different too!

gramsbuttonbox 05/13/2007 #

take care linie, we will all be sending gentle thoughts your way -

just to add to your idea - I put each journal I have and work on into its own ziploc baggie if it's not already - and put a sticker on the front, with the swap number -

for people who are signed up for more than one of these rr's, it is VERY important to keep the swaps straight - we do not want a journal accidentally joining a wrong swap -

if you run into any snag, along the way, or have a journal and just don't know for sure which swap it's for, PLEASE message me, right away - and I'll help straighten that out -

have a good week everyone, keep those little gems "on the move" - post pics also! and PLEASE have SO MUCH FUN with this! MaryB

bren 05/14/2007 #

Nathalie's journal was sent to the Netherlands today. OMG, global priority shipping went up to $16.00. The book is light enough, so it went first class.

I have mediatinker's book.

Nathalie- I "altered" your cover because I touched it with wet hands and some of the ink smeared. It's still the same, but it's not the same... let's just say it can't smear anymore.

I did 10 pages and since it was more personal journaling, I'm not posting pics of my pages. My printer died half-way through, so I had to find at least one more actual photo to finish. My Epson sucks!

marieke 05/15/2007 #

Bren I will let you know as soon as I have receive nathalie's journal.

Nathalie 05/15/2007 #

Bren, you did it : I'm curious now ; )

mediatinker 05/15/2007 #

tlREEN's journal is still in progress in Tokyo; an unexpected work deadline is eating all my time and energy this week. I shall continue to noodle at it in the few hours I'm home and will get it out as soon as I can.

suzylucie 05/15/2007 #

Hi Everyone! I'm Susan (suzylucie). I have started a flickr group for the round robin journal swaps. This is not a requirement but an additional resource you can utilize if you want. We will have discussions, inspirations, lots of photos of the art in progress. I hope you all will join. Flickr is free and easy to learn and use, if I can do it, anyone can! Go to http://www.flickr.com/groups/roundrobinjournals/ or do a search in groups for round robin journals.Hope to see you there!

gramsbuttonbox 05/15/2007 #

Thanks Susan,

yes, come and join us "over there" - lots of beautiful pictures should show up, I hope that EVERY one of these swaps comes thru, with lots of us being a part of the group.

enjoy, MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 05/16/2007 #

Hi Linie, I hope you are feeling better and well on the mend. Your book arrived in New Zealand yesterday, Wednesday, it is looking fabulours.

As I work with a very slow dile up connection that does not always stay connected I find uploading a real nightmear so I will not even try any more but if anyone else wants to upload my work I'm more than happy for that to be done for me.

Hugs to all :-)))

gramsbuttonbox 05/16/2007 #

thanks for letting us know that it's okay to post your book's pictures -

the same is true for any of my work, also, dear hearts, as I do not have a digital camera - it's on my Christmas list! hahaha

anyway, hope everyone is having FUN with these, and getting lots of wonderful inspiration -

come check out the great flickr site for these round robins - everyone in all of these RR's has been invited, so hopefully we will have LOTS of inspiring and beautiful pictures posted there also.

Each swap's gallery is beautiful, also, but there, we might have EVERYONE who is in ALL the swaps - - doesn't replace our own gallery, but it sure adds to it!

have a great FUN and artsy week, everyone, MaryB

liniecat 05/17/2007 #

Angel thanks so much! Bren will post yours friday to Joanne! I had an xtra night and day in hospital because the operating folk did such a good job of aneasthetising me that the next day my leg was still dead! All okay though, 6 weeks sick leave from work lol, can hobble about so shouldnt stop me altering books thank goodness!

AngelFaeryKathleen 05/17/2007 #

Hi Linie, So long as your leg had good dreams while asleep,He He He. Take it slowly give your body time to heal, healing cannot be rushed. Hugs Angel Faery Kathleen :-)

liniecat 05/18/2007 #

Angel Im sure it did lol I posted Brens book to Joanne today, 18th, and have finished Mariekes book this evening but cant post it till I get some money off my daughter on monday! .......Why Oh Why are pay days always so FAR away, when you run out of money? ?????? lol :)

marieke 05/19/2007 #

Linie don't worry about posting my journal on monday, and I have the same problem with paydays LOL.

liniecat 05/19/2007 #

Thanks Marieke lol I meant to say folks, my scanner at home is jiggered and I have managed to leave my camera at work in my drawer, so if anyone wants to gallery pic my work at any time, your welcome to....either on here or flickr.......must find that site of pics myself to look at!

AngelFaeryKathleen 05/19/2007 #

Hi Linie and others, money I can handle, it is getting to the postoffice to get the books in the post that can be a problem for me, as I work with preschool children at home and live a 20 min. drive to the mall and so only get at the weekend most weeks. So sometimes it could be a day or two over the 5 day turn around.

gramsbuttonbox 05/19/2007 #

just my 2-cents' worth here -

there is NO problem with "timing" or "scheduling" - you are SO wonderful about letting us know what's going on, that we have NOTHING to worry about here -

And for that, I thank you - ALL of you - these little gems ARE on the move, this swap is going along beautifully - and I'm SO excited to be a tiny part of it.

thank you everyone, take CARE of yourselves! and please have a wonderful week, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/20/2007 #

WOW - I just see that there is a new link in the yellow box - seems we can rate partners immediately, when they are assigned - and I guess that you can also now rate hosts - that is cool -

have a good week everyone, MaryB

user6953 05/20/2007 #

I'm alive. Im sorry I haven't sent yet. I will be sending though VERY soon. I was sick in the hospital and couldn't get it sent out on time I am so sorry!

liniecat 05/21/2007 #

Aw Dreamer hope you will be on the mend soon then lass (hug). Take it easy, don't rush, rather enjoy the process, of journals that is, not just the healing bit lol Joanne I was reading that poem thinking, This is So great!!! and I think it must be in my book!!!!? Its wonderful! Wow! Mariekes is off on its wayyyyyyyyyyy to you Joane late this afternoon. Enjoyyyyyyyyyyy xx

yarnpie 05/21/2007 #

You're right, it is in your book! EE Cummings is my fav. poet and that is one of my favs. of his! I am so excited to get more journals!!! If I receive Brens by Friday, it's going on vacation with me :) Just a weekend trip down to southern Utah, but still a vacation! lol

gramsbuttonbox 05/21/2007 #

I received Joanne's journal today from Angel Faery - thanks, it made GREAT time - I'll get to it, and will et it off to tIREEN by the weekend.

have a good one, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/21/2007 #

Dreamer - you are NOT in this swap!!!

You are in swap #3054 - I know that several people are in both of these - including the person that you would SEND to - (Angel Faery) - but please come and join us "over there" - we'd really like you to be a part of the group.

I've messaged you also, please check it out - MaryB

ddnuland 05/21/2007 #

So dears, have you ever had one of those days? Well, today was mine...ultimate pits. I sulked into my office thinking nothing could possibly cheer me, and then I saw the lovely yellow envelope from Lyuba containing the darling journal from Kathleen. Ah, peel my tangerines, there is nothing like a bit of glorious creativity to mend my weary soul. Thank you everyone!

gramsbuttonbox 05/21/2007 #

smiles at Elizabeth's words - ahhhh....it's like a tonic to the heart, isn't it? -

I do thank you every one, for letting me be a part of something so wonderful - and FUN! and for every one of YOU being a part of my humble artistic beginnings...

enjoy, MaryB

mediatinker 05/22/2007 #

Nathalie, you should soon have a box with two journals in it. trLEEN and Gram's Button Box are traveling together; I mailed them out yesterday morning.

bren 05/22/2007 #

Mailed off mediatinker's book today. It was supposed to go out yesterday, but time slipped past me. When you get on a creative streak, you just don't stop until you look up and see what time it is!

liniecat 05/23/2007 #

Got a great quote on a link this morning....dont ask me to find it again, not sure how I got there in the first place and forgot to see who had said it!

When faced with a problem, free your mind and think creatively.............the possibilities are endless.

I loved it and Elisabeth proved the point when she saw her mail! :)

yarnpie 05/23/2007 #

Got Brens journal today - WOW that was fast! I will be working on it this weekend and then sending it on it's way.

yarnpie 05/23/2007 #

Linie, if you don't mind, I'll post some pics of your pages - I just love them!

liniecat 05/24/2007 #

Please do, I'd be grateful..........just had a look and gallery seems to freeze past mediatinkres entry.......anyone else have that or is it just me? I have moved my pc downstairs and wondered if Id jinxed the innards!! (Amazing what you can do with a foot in plaster and bandages whilst off work lol) Brens journal must have had a tail wind behind it!

ddnuland 05/24/2007 #

Sending off Kathleen's lovely little journal today. Hope the yellow envelope cheers Kristin as much as it did me. Had to add some collage too of course!

gramsbuttonbox 05/24/2007 #

please - any and ALL of you - come to the flickr site - there is some great conversation going on there, as well as getting to see the pics for ALL these round robins -

It'd be so much fun to have ALL the journals from all these RR's show up there - what an inspiration and beautiful FUN that would be!

hope to see you "over there" and have a great week, everyone, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/24/2007 #

PLEASE NOTE - I will be offline until Tuesday or Wednesday - please do not worry, but I will not be able to post anything until I return.

Also, there is no mail service Monday (in the US), with the holiday, so please do not be concerned if you are "in between" - or do not hear anything for a few days.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend, everyone, MaryB

yarnpie 05/25/2007 #

I've posted pics of Linie's pages and a few of mine.

yarnpie 05/25/2007 #

liniecat 05/29/2007 #

Just read through last few messaages and realise I didnt put in that Id posted Mariekes journal off.....dohhhhh it must have been on 21st when I put a message in for Dreamer. I'm a klutz lol :(

Nathalie 05/29/2007 #

I have the feeling most journals are half way there ; )

AngelFaeryKathleen 05/29/2007 #

Hi Linie and Gram'sBB, I posted Linie's book to Gram'sBB on Sunday N.Z. time so it should be there in 7 to 10 days. I'ts looking good, I loved Joanne's pages. I have taken photos of my pages and if I get a good conection I will upload the picks to flckr. Hugs to you all :-)))

yarnpie 05/29/2007 #

Got Marieke's journal today, I will have both Bren's and Marieke's journal's in the mail by Thursday - hopefully tomorrow (wednesday), but I just got back from vacation, so I'm a bit sluggish right now :)

yarnpie 05/30/2007 #

Hey I made it ahead of schedule! Bren & Marieke - your journals are on their way to Angel Faery Kathleen today.

gramsbuttonbox 05/30/2007 #

I'm back - thanks to everyone who sent 'well-wishes' - and yes I was in the hospital a few days - but am back "on track" now -

anyway - I have Joanne's lovely journal, (from Angel Faery) - will get to it immediately, and get it sent by the end of the week!

I really DO apologize if I've created any bottlenecks, but hopefully, with the holiday weekend, things are back in motion again.

have a great week, everyone if you haven't yet, go and check out the flickr site - all I can say is WOW - just LOOK at those pictures - every round robin swap I've hosted has been invited "over there" - and just for the inspirations and the oooohs and aaaaahs, it's really wonderful!

MaryB

Nathalie 05/31/2007 #

Mediatinker, the two journals arrived today save and sound. This might take a little longer to send them out, I wwould like reading them but I'll do my best to get them out after the weekend.

Happy May to you too ; )

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 1/2007 #

Thanks to a wonderful suggestion (and I had not even thought of doing this) - to avoid receiving all the "swap reminders" for these round robins, I am moving the 'mail to' deadline date ahead -

this will not change anything in the swap, and it will not "open" it again, so no new people can slip in - but hopefully it will cut down on all those reminders coming into our inboxes.

(thanks to jakfrostwife) MaryB

Nathalie 06/ 2/2007 #

Inspiration made me do the journals quicker as expected. They are ready to go in the mail on Monday. Brenda 2 journals at the same time are heading your way.

Nathalie 06/ 2/2007 #

Oh , just wondering and curious where my journal is at the moment.

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 2/2007 #

Please everyone, let me know WHOSE journals you have and are working on, or sending onward - I do try to keep track of where each one is in the process - and it really helps if you tell me whose you have.

thanks so much, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 2/2007 #

received linie's journal today from Angel Faery - (linie, also got the journal that YOU sent me for the other swap!) I'll post that to swap 3054.

Have a good weekend, everyone, I'll try to get this done and off by Tuesday.

MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 06/ 2/2007 #

Hi Gram's Button Box, G that was quick, I have just been to flkr and added the photos I took of Linie's book.

mediatinker 06/ 3/2007 #

liniecat 06/ 3/2007 #

I have GBB and Tireens going out on monday

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 3/2007 #

what big day?

innocent smile

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 4/2007 #

thank you to those who have responded here or answered my email SO quickly - As many of you know, there are SIX of these round robins going -

there are only a few people I have not heard from yet, but I do know where most of the journals are in ALL the swaps - there are several cases of "more than one" at one swapper's place - and that is true for one of these round robins.

I myself, have TWO journals, in two different swaps, and will be sending them off Tuesday - there are also (at least!) THREE cases of swappers who have FOUR or MORE journals right now - so these little gems ARE on the move - and lots of them are "same swap, travelling together" journals!

and yes, that means that you MAY be getting a truck load - so if you are "without" at the moment, enjoy the reprieve - it won't last long! hahaha

please be patient, do NOT give up, our journals ARE on the move!

Have a great week, everyone, MaryB

marieke 06/ 4/2007 #

Hello

I have been quiet for some time but we had some problems with our internet connection, now everything is oke and I'm online again whoohoo. I have received nathalie's journal last thursday and will work in it tonight and tomorrow.

liniecat 06/ 4/2007 #

Glad your okay Marieke, I was wondering if you were poorly! Funny enough, my bank are messing me around abit at the moment, here in UK lots of us have been claiming back 'punitive' bank charges, as opposed to true administrative cost charges, so many banks are cheesed off at having to pay money BACK to customers lol. Shame eh!. But I suddenly thought, if they dont pay my internet providor payment, (and they have bounced a couple of standing orders on me since I have started my own claim,) my journalling friends would think I'd dropped out! So IF for any reason, like Marieke, Im not on line......post me anyway and I will still be posting journals off as I should do! It shouldnt happen but with my luck.............:)

yarnpie 06/ 4/2007 #

Just as an update from me - I don't have any journals right now and I think that Brens and Mariekes should be arriving at Kathleens any day now. :)

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 6/2007 #

Hi - I put linie's journal in the mail today to tIREEN - be watching for it, and have fun with it! I sure did! have a good week, all, MaryB

yarnpie 06/ 8/2007 #

Wow, shows how organized I am - I just found the original packaging Linie sent some journals to me in and I found a little surprise for me. Thanks a lot for the stickers Linie, I really like the paris ones! :)

liniecat 06/10/2007 #

I taxied over to the East Yorkshire Embroidery group I belong to yesterday and the talk was inspirational, youd have all loved it. The woman speaker was Francis Pickering, her website which I havent looked at yet myself, must have some of her work on it.....STUNNING is the word.....journals are her THING. She uses acrylic wax a great deal...........and I have bought some to use now too......as a sealant or as base cover for pages. So ideal as a backing agent on pages that are flimsy for example and especially if you stitch thrpough and into them as she does. She reminded me of Brens drawing style, but her width of ideas wasa inspirational......she had done some wonderful journals on the War Poets, with pages all burnt thru to resemble bullet holes? So clever, yet only a soldering iron, used to effect. She also uses mainly pelmet strenthener for pages.I do often use that myself, like she does, dyed randomly but whereas I use paints and fabric dyes, she uses transfer (powder) dyes. She had dyed and overdyed one pice of pelmet (vylene is it called?) so it looked like leather. Then she put 3 thinnish coats of acrylic wax on it, letting each coat dry in between. The she incised it over and over, in a cross hatch manner. Once dry she wrung it up like a dishcloth so it creased a little and blow me, if it didnt both look and FEEL like very old leather! I am so wired up now.............bring on the journals !!!! www.frannyp.co.uk...... right will go look now so hope there are samples for you to see! Aw Joanne.....glad you found the wee gifty!!!

liniecat 06/11/2007 #

oooooooooh do look at her website its full of her wonderful journals.......!

gramsbuttonbox 06/11/2007 #

great ideas, hope you are all having a great week, enjoy the ART!

gramsbuttonbox 06/25/2007 #

had a family funeral today, will try very hard to get bren's and marieke's journals off in tomorrow's mail -

have a great week, everyone! MaryB

liniecat 06/26/2007 #

No journal as yet Marieke, maybe as well since I spent yesterday waiting for sand bags to ward off the flood water after torrential rains hit the UK. Good job the waters receded cos am still waiting for the blummin sand bags! My two dogs did not see the impending doom at all.....they did not help at all! They were swimming round the patio! My plaster cast now VERY soggy!!!!

bren 06/26/2007 #

I am still waiting for journals. I just know they will show up all at once!

yarnpie 06/26/2007 #

Thank you Linie! I love the little surprises you send. I am not the one that you sent the wrong journal to, but I feel ya, I've been so worried that I'll do that! So I now have Nathalie's journal. I'm working on it and should have it in the mail shortly. BTW - Linie your pages are beautiful as usual, would you like me to post pictures or have you done that already?

gramsbuttonbox 06/27/2007 #

sent off marieke's and bren's journals TODAY to tIREEN - sorry it was a day late, but be watching for them, and have lots of FUN!

MaryB

mediatinker 06/27/2007 #

It feels like years since I last had a journal. I guess it's been about a month, actually. I have a feeling they are all going to descend at once...

yarnpie 06/27/2007 #

Is Elisabeth OK? We haven't heard from you on here in a while. :)

Nathalie 06/28/2007 #

I'm without journal(s) too : (

gramsbuttonbox 06/28/2007 #

I've written to Elisabeth, so will hope for a response - but yes, I know that there are a couple of these swaps with FOUR and even FIVE travelling together - that may very likely be true here also - I've not been aware of any problems, I just sent off TWO together, a couple days ago - I'm moving in a couple weeks, so only have internet access at the library now - for 30 mins a day - I'll check back tomorrow - don't be discouraged anyone, I really do think we are doing FINE

MaryB

yarnpie 06/28/2007 #

Sent Nathalie's journal to Angel Fairy today. What a beautiful journal (you're in for a treat Nathalie!)

AngelFaeryKathleen 06/29/2007 #

Hi all, so glad to know one is on it's way to N.Z. at last. Will keep and eye out in about a week as that seems to be how long they are taking to get from Joanne to me. Hugs to you all :-)))

I'm really SO sorry, but cannot be online every day - I'm moving in a few weeks, and being on Disability, have turned off my internet to save some money -

I'm SO thrilled tho, seeing how wonderfully everyone is keeping in touch - if it ever DOES become an "emergency" you can surely call me - my phone number IS listed, and Huron, SD is a very small town, in area code 605.

I can only be online at the library, for 30 minutes a day, and they are NOT open sundays. AND they were closed yesterrday - (Friday) -

Please be well, everyone, take care, and have a good weekend, I really AM keeping track of things, but just don't always have time to post much!

hugs to you ALL! MaryB (Boatright)

liniecat 07/ 1/2007 #

No Joanne I havent posted pics, please do and thankyou for the compliment! Weve had really bad floods here, so justa s well I was without a journel and had gotten that one posted off in good time! The north of england has been struck badly, we had a months rain in 24 hours and 3 days of rain all togther! It was torrential......well for england thats unusual you know lol This yorkshire area has many rivers and the high ground( the moors)just washes it all down to the valley/flat areas and some places reguarly flood up. Its most unusual for Hull to flood this way, though 95% of the city is beneath water level and its built up on ancient marshes. I came to within a gnats whisker of water beraching the back of my old terrace house but it did get into the air bricks so I imagine the foundations will be wet and need to dry out some. Out front of me was river!!! It was about 14" deep at the pavements and about a foot deep in the roads centre. Its a busy road too so evry time a bus,car or lorry went past there was a swell of water. Fortuneatly it wasnt raw sewage, just excess rainwater and the drains had backed up with that rather than anything else! Though several areas in Hull have been contaminated with sewage. We were told to expect another bout of really heavy rain this weekend but so far.......fingers crossed.......its been light. That may mean another area in yorkshire has had it instead of course. Anyway postal deliveries will be delayed, some areas only boats and infaltibles are getting through lol so if theres any delay folks here, Ill let you know!

yarnpie 07/ 1/2007 #

Oh, wow, Linie! Has this ever happened before? It just seems like the weather is getting crazier and crazier! But I wonder if I notice that just because I pay attention to the weather more than I did when I was younger. We are having over 100 degree days when we are supposed to be in the 80's, so that's a little weird here too. well, hang in there and good luck! I will be hoping for us to get the rain here instead of you. PS - I did take one pic of your pages in the last journal you sent, so I'll post that on flickr.

ddnuland 07/ 2/2007 #

Hello everyone! Sorry I have been silent lately. MaryB thanks for checking on me. Yes, I am still here or I guess I should say FINALLY here. We have been on a family vacation/road trip for two weeks. Got back last night and there were Linie and Joanne's journals waiting for me on the kitchen table. Ahhh, can you think of a better way to say welcome home? After I get some laundry going I will get down to work on those lovelies so that mediatinker can get one ASAP. Just curious, should I keep them together or send one on first, and if so which?

liniecat 07/ 2/2007 #

Elisabeth I wont mind travelling alone if it helps MediaT receive either one, quicker! lolol What a lovely welcome home for you as you say.........enjoy!!! Joanne I only moved here 18 months ago and Im about 2 miles form the Humber river, which is tidal and there are docks there. We have a big ferry terminal, transport docks, a merina and afew stray big trawling vessels that pop in from time to time. We dont usually get flooding in the city, further up in north yorkshire, they frequently get it with rain washing down into the rivers, and they burst their banks. York an ancient old walled city has a river running thru it and its annually awash but Kingston upon Hull hasnt been flooded since way back when in history! The drains couldnt cope with the excess rain I think thats the crux of it here. Though some recently built new housing developments were built on a well known flood plain, on the outskirts of the city and they are still 3/4' deep with sewage water! It must be so disheartening for them. Im sure your right changes are occuring all over the world and Im positive its mans footprint on the planet. Maybe changes would have occured anyway, but we and our overuse of energies must be having an added effect, to whatever nature/fate may have had in line for us! On a brighter note however, I received MediaTs journal from Marieke this morning!!!!!!! So Im making a cupper and allowing the muse to think it through before I get stuck in lolol Hi Gram, hope your coping okay xx

gramsbuttonbox 07/ 2/2007 #

Just to let everyone know - I AM moving, but not until the last week of August - so any journals heading my way, go ahead and send them -

Also, even tho I cannot be online much, I DO promise to work on any journals that come my way quickly, and get them sent!

(It would be nice if EVERYONE made a similar promise - I know it's summer, and lots of family activities going on, so no one is online as much it seems) - -

you are ALL such an awesome bunch - hugs to you ALL, MaryB

mediatinker 07/ 2/2007 #

Welcome home, Elisabeth. Send the journals as you like - together or separately is fine.

Linie, glad to know my journal made it safely through the floods and the mail strike.

ddnuland 07/ 3/2007 #

Linie and Joanne's lovelies are on their way to Japan today. Planned to send them one at a time, but they seem happy together. Might be hard to seperate them later? :)

yarnpie 07/ 4/2007 #

Lol, Elisabeth, it's true, we have been traveling together for a while! :) My goodness, Linie, I'm glad you are hangin in there. What a hard time, especially those new homes in sewage water! Hopefully after this, they fix those drains. I know that "they" say that New Orlean's future flood problems have been addressed, but I've heard a lot of other news that they haven't really fixed the levies at all. Shame! Anyway, good luck! Hope these journals are bringing a little sunshine to your day!

marieke 07/ 4/2007 #

Wow linie take care. Wish you all the best. Thanks for letting me know that MediaTs journal arrived safe.

gramsbuttonbox 07/ 5/2007 #

gentle thoughts sent to linie - know that you are in lots of thoughts, with this fabulous group of friends!

I am without a journal at the moment, and suffering greatly! hahaha - - actually, enjoying a bit of reprieve - have a good week, everyone - I can't be online tomorrow, and don't know yet if library is open Saturday - it's definitely closed Sunday, so I might be "incognito" til Monday!

Please be well everyone, and yes, if I get a journal, will hurry with it and send it onward quickly!

hugs to you ALL, MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 07/ 5/2007 #

Hi Linie, My thoughts are with you, I hope you are over the worst of it by now. How did your cats mannage though it all as they would not have been able to go outside?

AngelFaeryKathleen 07/ 5/2007 #

Hi Joanne, when my book gets to you please don't sent it home to me, I will emile you an adderss to send it on to in the UK. The girl who made me the book when I told her what I was using it for asked to see it when it was "finished" and if there is room she will work in it as well and then post it home to me. I hope that is OK with you and you all. I think it is rather nice to have the person who made the book do some art in it al well :-)))

mediatinker 07/ 6/2007 #

Joanne & Linie, your journals are in Japan today - the fastest mail delivery from Sweden ever! I will get them back on the road within the week.

yarnpie 07/ 6/2007 #

OOOOoo, getting so close! I can't wait. Thanks for taking care of my journal everyone!

liniecat 07/ 6/2007 #

Angel how lovely to have the UK lass work in your book too! East Yorkshires still under water in many areas, and aprts of Kingston upon Hull are still too. So many are in hotel or rented accom now, they will have to wait anything from 9 months to 18 months to get back into their homes, its doesnt bear thinking about does it! Mind you others have had it before us. I often wonder how New Orleans is nowadays. I was reading a back issue of Quilting Arts and it featured a N ew Orleans collage artist and I wondered how she is now. Whether she will have lost all she owned too. She said she lived near a levee and would sit and watch boats unloading searching for inspiration..... My cats trook one look at all that water and went and lay on my bed!!!! I have litter trays indoors anyway, so they often come IN to GO!!!! It was the dogs who showed no common sense! The larger collie cross breed has had to go to groomers and be clipped right back since you dont know what else was in the water! One fireman here in Hull has contracted Weils desease, from rats urine, and that can be fatal.....so wasnt taking any chances with my dogs. One I bathed and pummeled myself, the other went off in a van to be sorted!

bren 07/ 6/2007 #

I am getting a sinking feeling about not getting any journals. They have been in the postal system for far too long. Crossing fingers(and toes!).

liniecat 07/ 8/2007 #

I know its like waiting for your kids to get safely home from.....somewhere isnt it! Bren I love your drawing skills, you have a lovely eye for flora ( and fred for all I know!!!)just wanted to tell you how lovely it is to see and read through...you sound to have a simply wonderful menagerie of animals and folk. Obviously a fund of inspiration! :)

gramsbuttonbox 07/ 9/2007 #

please do not get discouraged anyone - this swap IS on the move - there's been a lot going on, with summer here, and lots of family stuff, as well as some emergencies, even -

I was going to try to call everyone, this weekend, but actually could not get phone numbers for MOST people - even with addresses - just to re-encourage everyone, and to keep the good thoughts!

I'm in all six of these RR's, and have been without for almost a month - but I know also, that in several of the swaps, there are FOUR and even FIVE journals travelling together.

Please don't be down, or worry - I see NO reason to doubt anyone's commitment to a successful swap!

Great Idea, Kathleen, it will be SO much fun to see it when you DO get it "home".

hugs to you ALL, MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 07/ 9/2007 #

Hi Nathalie, you book has landed in New Zealand, I love the way we are all putting information about ourselves in it. I will need to think about it for a day or two before I put pen to paper. With -5 and down ot -7oC frosts each morning it takes my brain a while to thaw out and as I am on line between 6.30 and 8 am please excuse all the spelling mistakes as my finger don't slways hit the right keys. Hugs to all you wonderfull book artests. :-)))

ddnuland 07/ 9/2007 #

Well, am having journal withdrawal probs. So actually started one over on 1001journals...#2082 if anyone is interested. I know it is shameful advertising, but it would indeed be fun to have someone from this group join me. Although maybe packages only go to Japan from this address?

Linie you are in our thoughts here too!

bren 07/ 9/2007 #

I am fearing it. I got Angel Faery Kathleen's book today. I still have not received Gram's button box and tIREEN's books. I'm still hoping they arrive safe. I haven't had anxiety like this in a loooong time.

Linie- send that water this way! My pasture is drying up to a crisp! It has cooled down some today and just watched all the rain clouds pass north of me. Weatherman said(well, he always says something different every time) today was the last day for a chance of rain until next Monday.

Nathalie 07/10/2007 #

Bren please check something did I send Angel Faery's priority? Could be I didn't send the two GBB and Tireen priority. Nevertheless to me it looks troubeling HMMMMmmm

bren 07/10/2007 #

What a relief!! The two books arrived today!! Nathalie, for some reason, the packages with the regular stamps take around two weeks to arrive, but this one has a postage sticker and it took over a month! And what's strange is on the back, is written, "Jesus Christ cares." OK, I am not a follower, I'm just glad they are safe.

I will work on these in the right order and send them out as they are finished. Separate or together, I don't know.

bren 07/10/2007 #

And thank you for the "little something" Nathalie!

Nathalie 07/11/2007 #

LOL, the 'jesus christ cares' might have helped to get them there safe ; ) I'm not a follower either but I recycled an envelope I received earlier in another swap.

Just glad they arrived with or without 'higher' helping ; )

gramsbuttonbox 07/11/2007 #

it's so fun to hear where our OWN journals are - and gosh, yes, this swap is nearly completed!

I AM going to be starting another, but think I'll just wait til I move (end of August) - with kids back in school, and fewer family vacations/absences, it might be easier for everyone to keep track.

hugs to you ALL, have a great week! MaryB

tIREEN 07/12/2007 #

Marieke's journal is going to go to Sweden today!

I also have Bren's journal, but this one will have to wait till next week to travel cuz I got myself a new toy: yukata (japanese summer kimono) and now I just want to wear it everywhere! But that requires learning how to tie an obi (belt), those things are EVIL!!!

BTW, just want to let everyone know that I'll be on vacation from July 24-August 3, so I won't be able to work on any journals at that time.

Lyuba

mediatinker 07/12/2007 #

Linie and Joanne's journals are off to Nathalie today (in separate envelopes as I didn't have one to fit them together).

tlREEN, obi aren't so hard when you're doing the casual summer look. Do you have instructions? They are a lot more formal for silk kimono. A friend tied me into one and it took 25 minutes for her to get it perfect. I can tie my own yukata obi in about 2 minutes.

Nathalie 07/13/2007 #

Yipee looking forward to receiving two journals

tIREEN 07/13/2007 #

Mediatinker, you are right, yukata obi is not that hard. I already wore it and tied the obi myself :)

I'm going to post pics on myspace soon, so you can check it out if you want :)

liniecat 07/14/2007 #

Bren I just had to laugh at the 'Jesus is with us dah di dah' on the envelope...you dont think it was a postal worker who thinks we are all sad then?????? lol

Okay, I posted off MediaTs journal finally today to you Joanne, so keep an eye out for it. :)

Media you werent involved in the hurricanes was it last week in Japan? Am sure I saw something about seriously bad weather there too?

Gram take care, glad you have a moving date now to work to.

yarnpie 07/16/2007 #

I will! It feels like I haven't had a journal forever and I'm in 2 round robins! :) I can't wait to see what Media Tinkers looks like, since by now, most of us have worked in it.

I will probably be out of town when it comes, but I'm sure my husband will take good care of it until I get back to play with it :) Hope everything is well for everybody!

liniecat 07/18/2007 #

Joanne, only 3/4 of us have worked on Medias book, but its taking shape beautifully. PLEEEEZE dont tell me I have posted it to the wrong swap!!!!!! I hope Media is okay, earthquakes and typhoon or hurricanes not withstanding!????

Nathalie 07/18/2007 #

I received Linie's and Joanne's beautifull journals today. Will do my best to get them out after the weekend. I'll keep you posted

Mediatinker take care ; )

yarnpie 07/18/2007 #

Thanks Nathalie for taking care of us! Linie, I think you posted to the right swap, I'm just getting so excited because the end is near :) Although I think I will miss this group because I've never swapped with such a great bunch of people. Thanks all!

mediatinker 07/19/2007 #

The typhoon only brushed Tokyo, so we got a lot of rain but no wind. The earthquake only shook Tokyo lightly. We were having a lucky week in the world's riskiest city. Thanks for thinking of me.

I am so glad Linie and Joanne's journals arrived safely. I'm sure mine is happily in transit somewhere. I guess it's just over halfway around the loop now!

gramsbuttonbox 07/19/2007 #

I AM moving, and it's been "moved ahead" - to August FIRST!

I will message who sends to me, with my new address, please use it effective right away for any journals coming my way.

have a really GREAT week, everyone, warm hugs to you ALL! Mary

gramsbuttonbox 07/19/2007 #

thanks for letting us know, media, our thoughts have been with you - keep us posted -

we all do understand that sometimes real life can get busy and complicate -

take care, of yourself -

ALL of you! MaryB

Nathalie 07/20/2007 #

Joanne your precious is ready, I just have to scan my contribution and then I will send it of to Bren.

Linie I will finnish off yours this weekend, scan it and send it also to Bren, getting really close to home ; )

liniecat 07/20/2007 #

Thanks Nat....exciting or what! So glad Media you are okay! I keep seeing all these natural disasters world wide and worrying about you all! Its all the more real when you know theres someone you are in contact with over there!

Hi everybody

A couple of hours ago I came back from my holiday we had a great time and lots of fun. When I came home I found Elisabeth's journal and tireen's journal. I'm not sure if I can finish them in 5 days, Maybe it will take a little longer, I'm very busy becaurse of the summer. Enjoy your holidays.

Greetings Marieke

yarnpie 08/ 6/2007 #

Kathleen - Mediatinker's journal is going in the mail to you today. It took a little longer than normal because it's finals week, but I got it done ;)

mediatinker 08/ 7/2007 #

Nathalie, Marieke's journal started its journey to you on Monday. It was a little later than I'd hoped, sorry.

Nathalie 08/ 8/2007 #

Thx MediaT I'm on the look-out for it ; )

gramsbuttonbox 08/ 8/2007 #

Hi everyone - I'm living in TEXAS!!!!!

and loving it!

I received Nathalie's journal via Angel Faery, so will get busy with that, and get it sent on its merry way!

Thanks for the wonderful well-wishes everyone, the move went smoothly and FUN - saw lots of interesting sights and made excellent time - my address is now DIFFERENT from originally stated, to my "mail-from's" - so I will message those (in all 6 RR's) with it, so be watching for the message.

Hugs to you ALL, have a great week everyone! MaryB

bren 08/ 8/2007 #

I think summer is dragging everyone down! It is hot! I still have Gram's and Angel Faery Kathleen's books. One is done and the the idea for the other was destroyed by either one of my dogs or my son(not the book!!, just the idea!). They will both go out by Friday.

bren 08/ 9/2007 #

I've got linie and Joanne's books today. Thanks again Nathalie!

Nathalie 08/10/2007 #

bren 08/10/2007 #

Gram's and Angel Faery Kathleen's books are traveling together and on the way to Marieke.

ddnuland 08/12/2007 #

Hello lovelies! Just checking in and wistfully wishing I had a journal to work on. More rain here in Scandinavian. So much for summer. Jealous you are in my homestate Gram!

AngelFaeryKathleen 08/13/2007 #

Hi all, we had a touch of spring in NZ for a couple of days but it's back to winter the last couple of days.

Mediatinker your book arrived in NZ yesterday (Monday) will be a a few days before I get to work on it as I only get to do art work at night because of work and I have to do a course at night for work but will keep you posted when I send it on to GBB new, new addy.

Hugs to you all Angel Faery Kathleen :-)

mediatinker 08/13/2007 #

I love that my book is going places I haven't been yet! Maybe someday I'll follow in its footsteps. :-)

gramsbuttonbox 08/19/2007 #

Hi all, I have Nathalie's journal, and will be sending it to tIREEN in the next couple days - I'll let you know when it's on its way -

have a wonderful week, everyone, MaryB

liniecat 08/22/2007 #

Seems so long since I had a journal to work on...its like going cold turkey I imagine!

Nathalie 08/24/2007 #

Mariekes journal is almost ready and will be going out after the weekend

Nathalie 08/24/2007 #

Now waiting for Bren's and my own, seems like the journals are all with the same 3 persons?

Nathalie 08/24/2007 #

If I'm not mistaking this is the current situation and position of the journals: Tireen has Brens-

Grams has Nathalies-

Nathalie has Mariekes-

Angel Faer has Mediatink's-

Marieke has Tireens,Elisabeth,Gram's & Angel Faer's-

Bren has Linies and Joannes

liniecat 08/25/2007 #

Poor Marieke must feel she has to work like a 'one armed paperhanger'............( as we say in the Uk lol) if thats the case! Hope everyone well and happy and Grams found all her bits and pieces and managed to get unpacked by now.

AngelFaeryKathleen 08/26/2007 #

Hi - I've been out of town for a family funeral, so have not had a chance to check in - - -

right now, I have TWO journals, Nathalie's, and media's - (thanks so much for the update, btw)

will get them sent off Friday. Sorry for the delay, but the funeral was sudden and took me out of town to help with the grandbabies.

hugs to you all, MaryB

liniecat 08/30/2007 #

Sorry to hear that Mary. I was at a funeral last friday myself. The wife of a works colleague. We were all three ex RAF so had lots in common and it was so emotional, I was wreck after! I held togther till they took the RAF flag off the coffin, rolled it up and gave it to Alex, well that finished me off, I'd forgotten they did that. Thankyou Nathalie, for the update (hug)

AngelFaeryKathleen 08/30/2007 #

Sending Gram's Button Box and Linie a big hug :-)))

mediatinker 08/30/2007 #

I'm sorry to hear about your losses. Very sad times.

yarnpie 08/31/2007 #

My condolences to you both. Just a note from me that I will be out of town next week and any journals that come to me will be worked on and sent the 2nd week of September.

gramsbuttonbox 08/31/2007 #

liniecat 09/ 1/2007 #

Thanks from me too xx

marieke 09/ 3/2007 #

Hello I have to appologise to all of you for not keeping in contact a couple of weeks. I was rushed to the hospital one day when I woke up and couldn't move both my arms and hands, I have had surgery and now I'm oke again. This afternoon I will sent Tireens and Elisabeth journal to Linie. I don't have other journals at home Again I'm very sorry about the whole situation.

Greetings Marieke

liniecat 09/ 3/2007 #

Heavens Marieke! Im so sorry! Did they explain to you what it was that made that happen? I was sure you must be poorly, thats why I emailed you at home, so pleased you are back and on the mend. That must have very frightening for you! Will let you know when the journals arrive treasure ( hug)

mediatinker 09/ 3/2007 #

Marieke, my goodness! I hope that you are quickly recovering from your surgery.

Nathalie 09/ 4/2007 #

Marieke, heeeel veeel beterschap gewenst

tIREEN 09/ 5/2007 #

I still have Bren's journals, and I'm sorry for luck of updates. My life been kinda crazy lately... for one thing we keep loosing people at work (they hire someone, 2 days later that person just DOESN'T come in to work!) so I have to do my own duties, and duties of person who was hired... and after I come home I just don't feel like doing anything exept lie down and RELAX...

Then my car broke on me once AGAIN and I decided that it's time to get a NEW one! So I'm doing that this and next week... Plus school after work... Yeah, just like my boss said in reply to the comment that someone made to him about me: 'don't work her too hard', and his reply was: 'she didn't have enough of full time job, so she started full time school' :P

But I will work on Bren's journal ASAP and mail out!

Lyuba

liniecat 09/ 7/2007 #

Marieke both journals arrived safely, will read through them and get a flavour of what each needs next lol

So Lyuba and Elisabeth realx, yours are here in the Uk at the moment. :)

marieke 09/10/2007 #

Hello

Today I've received Bren's envelop with two journals, I'm not sure who's I'm at work at the moment, will let you know when I'm home.

Greetings Marieke

gramsbuttonbox 09/13/2007 #

please NOTE - to anyone who sends to me - I've changed my address to a PO box - I'm planning on a move in the near future, but have not decided which place it will be - so this is easier than hoping that my mail will somehow follow me. I've had everything forwarded also, so if there is anything "in transit", it will get to me.

You've all been SO fabulous, it's great seeing current posts here once again - we've been watching for the hurricanes around here, and I was without internet for about a week, but am back now.

This swap really IS winding down, I only have two journals left to see, and then my own should be making its way back - I am planning to host more RR swaps, but because of everything that has happened in these, they will be private, or "by invitation only" - and I'm sure we all understand why.

take care, everyone, and welcome back!
MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 09/14/2007 #

Any future RR swaps that I host will be set up basically the same - with one "send to" and one "receive from" partner - BUT - I will alter the order assigned by swap-bot, so that the journals travel in a more logical straight line or circle - and do not have to circle the globe or counrty a half dozen times -

Everyone will still work in everyone else's journal, so that will also remain the same - if you want to be a part of these, let me know - if you've already been a great, committed swapper in THESE RR swaps, you will automatically receive an invitation.

have a good weekend, everyone, MaryB

liniecat 09/14/2007 #

Another move Mary? lol you sucker for punishment you! Im about to relocate to a hotel whilst they refurbsh my ground floor after the floods but will have the post office fwd mail to me at work. Would love to be in anothers swap as and when if Im considered to have behaved myself lolol

AngelFaeryKathleen 09/14/2007 #

Hi Mary, yet another move for you, it must be very unsettling for you. You will be thinking you will never get unpacked. I would love to be in another RR if that is OK with you and the others. :-)))

Nathalie 09/19/2007 #

Last update-correct me if I'm wrong ; ) Tireen has Brens Grams has Nathalies and Mediathink's Marieke has Grams and Angel Faer's Linie has Tireens and Elisabeths Bren has Mariekes,Linies and Joannes

yarnpie 09/21/2007 #

Oh, thank you thank you, can't wait! And that means Elisabeth's is almost home! Does anyone have their own journals back yet?

mediatinker 09/21/2007 #

Definitely looking forward to seeing the last few journals (Bren & Nathalie) arrive. I have really enjoyed this swap and meeting you all through your art.

bren 09/24/2007 #

Joanne's book is on its way.

yarnpie 09/29/2007 #

Linie! I just got the books today, can't wait to start working on them. Good luck with your house and I hope you get to go home soon.

gramsbuttonbox 10/ 1/2007 #

Happy October everyone -

thanks for posting and drawing yourselves back into the swap, everyone - hugs to you all,

let's hurry with these journals and try to get them finished and sent HOME soon -

have a good week, MaryB

Nathalie 10/ 8/2007 #

Haven't had a journal since August 29 is this normal ? ? ? They must be stuck somewhere

yarnpie 10/ 9/2007 #

Kathleen - there are two journals on their way to you!

yarnpie 10/ 9/2007 #

Oh, I just realized that when I had to assign my username, I changed on all the comments and everything! Sorry for the confusion, it's me Joanne!

marieke 10/10/2007 #

Linie I have sent 3 journals (MaryB's, Joanne's and Kathleen's) with priority to your workaddress. I forgot to include a little note it's still on my table I noticed, I'm sorry. Wish you all the best, Greetings Marieke

liniecat 10/10/2007 #

Joanne.......phew......Im easily confused anyways!!

Marieke woweeeee, thankyou so much. We have postal strikes, pon/off, on again and off again over here so there may be some delay in them arriving. Next one is scheduled for 15th October but theys eem to be 24 and 48 hour strikes, so I dont think the whole mail system will grind to a halt. Will let you know when they arrive though. Hope you are alright now and back to healthy normal!!! Lyn

AngelFaeryKathleen 10/12/2007 #

Joanne why the name change? I will keep and out out in a week for the books, thanks for letting me know they are on their way :-)))

yarnpie 10/15/2007 #

Kathleen, I thought it might make it easier for me, since a lot of my other accounts on other websites are under yarnpie. I didn't realize it might make it harder for the swaps I'm already in, oops!

I am really really excited to see that my journal is almost home! It will be so great to see what everyone has done! Oh yeah, Linie! I was amazed by your letter from the Queen and would not at all mind if you had another copy for my book (big grin). Really though, what a special thing to have!

AngelFaeryKathleen 10/15/2007 #

Hi Yarnpie, I go with the same name where ever I am as I would not know who I am!

HI Elisabeth and TIREEN your books are now safe in New Zealand and enjoying the start of Spring.

We are getting so close to the end, good to have our "children" home but sad at the thought we will not be chatting togeter. I feel we have become close friends and it would be good to find a way to stay together and in touch.

Huge hugs to you all :-)

liniecat 10/15/2007 #

Angel Im the same........have to keep names and numbers simple so I stand a chance of remembering them lol It will be sad not chatting to the 'gang', its like long distance cuppers with friends this! Lyn

marieke 10/16/2007 #

Hi Linie Have you received the 3 journals I sent you? Or is the postoffice still on stike.

Greetings Marieke

liniecat 10/16/2007 #

Marieke they arrived this very day, safe and sound. Just been reading through them and they are so different and shades of you all....smashing!

Joanne I will make sure theres another copy of that letter...I have a similar one from Princess Margarets Lady in Waiting too, if I knew where it is! What a dippy kid I was lol Okay to bed, to muse over what to do in which journal......hmm, could be a sleepless night ahead lol Lyn

marieke 10/16/2007 #

Thanks so much linie for letting me know you have got them. I hope you slept tonight (lol). Have fun creating. Greetings Marieke

mediatinker 10/17/2007 #

Yikes, does time fly! I haven't seen a journal in over ten weeks. I hope mine is enjoying itself, wherever it may be.

Advance warning: I will be away from Nov 10th - Dec 2nd, so if Brens and Nathalie's haven't reached me by then, I apologise in advance for the delay, but promise to get them out as soon as I get back (well, after I mark up some pages, of course).

I didn't expect this swap to last this long. I thought it would be about 3 months total. With floods, strikes and illnesses, its been more six months. Just goes to show how influential "real life" can be!

AngelFaeryKathleen 10/19/2007 #

I will be away for 10 days in a months time. My friend will pick up my mail daily as she goes past the end of our road on her way home from work. It will just mean that if books arrive while we are away I will not know untill I get home so I will not be able to let you all know. We are off to Oamaru for the Victorian Heritage Cellebrations so it is all dressing in Victorian or Edwardian costume all the time.

A cuppa with you all would be great, make mine black coffee please!

gramsbuttonbox 10/20/2007 #

Hi all, sorry to have been out of touch for a while - I got married! have just changed my address here, (and also my name, heehee) - but everything is being forwarded from my old address, so no problems -

hope everyone is doing well! hugs, Mary

mediatinker 10/20/2007 #

Congratulations on your marriage and your (2nd? 3rd?) move. You've had a very busy summer!

Nathalie 10/21/2007 #

Congraats Gram

marieke 10/21/2007 #

Wow that's great news Mary. Gefeliciteerd (congrats) as we say in The Netherlands. Marieke

bren 10/22/2007 #

Linie's book is on its way. One more book and I'm done!

liniecat 10/24/2007 #

Gram Im amazed you had have had time to get married, move, both do and keep tabs on all these journals as well......what on earth is your secret!! Many congratulations to you both!

I have finished Mary's, Joannes and Kathleens journals at last, they are all parcelled up to go, but Joanne...I cant find your address.......I know it's somewhere safe so I wouldn't lose it....cough...cough! Help! I thought I had taken it to work but so far its hiding from me. Mary you must have all our addresses I suppose, so will you resend me Joannes please? And Mary shall I send to your (now)new or old ( new) address when I have something to send you????? lol Hugs all Lyn

yarnpie 10/24/2007 #

Linie, I have messaged you with my address. Thanks! Mine's on it's way home, Woopee!

liniecat 10/25/2007 #

Yup all three in the post as of today !!!

gramsbuttonbox 10/25/2007 #

my address is a PO box at the moment, as we are building a house and will be once again moving! lol

swap-bot has my address, and I'm also forwarding everything previously, so please do not worry.

thanks for the great well-wishes Mary

ddnuland 10/28/2007 #

Just thought I would check in. Seems like SO much has happened since I was here last time. Haven't seen any journals for awhile. Hope you are doing OK Lyuba. We are getting cold over here in Sweden. Nice to think that at least my journal is warm.
BTW, this is Elisabeth despite the change in user name.

yarnpie 11/ 2/2007 #

I got Mine, Kathleens and Marys. Thanks so much to everyone, I absolutely love my journal. There's a few pages left and I think I might put pictures of what I've done in everyone else's journals to fill it up. I will be working on the two and then sending them on. Thanks again!

liniecat 11/ 3/2007 #

The pleasures been ours! Enjoy xx

AngelFaeryKathleen 11/ 4/2007 #

Yarnpie I will PM you before I go away with the addy to send my book to, I just need to check that the person who made it for me has not moved. Thanks :-)

Tireen & ddnuland your pages are all done and I will be posting to GBB tomorrow, Tusday, when I go to the mall. They are wonderfull and I loved working in them. Sorry they took a little longer that I would have liked but I ended up with 6 books to work in all at once from the different groups I am with. This does not usaly happen but I try to take things in turn.

I go away on Sunday (NZ time) and will be away from the computer for 12 days but will be checking in when I get back :-)

Nathalie 11/ 7/2007 #

STill no journals here : (

yarnpie 11/ 7/2007 #

Mary's is on it's way to Kathleen, will send yours, Kathleen, when I get the word about your friends address.

mediatinker 11/ 8/2007 #

I think we've got some journals stuck in the pipe with tlREEN/Lubya. She hasn't logged on since September 7th. Hope she's ok.

I'm away for 3 weeks starting tomorrow, so if Lubya gets the journals to Elizabeth and then they get to me, it will be early December before I can send them along...

marieke 11/12/2007 #

Last week I received Linie's journal, so it's almost HOME!!! Linie I hope to finish your journal this week , to what address should I sent it your home address or to your work address. Greetings Marieke

gramsbuttonbox 11/13/2007 #

(have not received anything yet, but still waiting eagerly)

thanks for letting us know - and take care, everyone, Mary

liniecat 11/14/2007 #

OOOOooooooooooooooooooooo what fun! Work please Marieke, I have dehumidifiers and fans in at home and still only a temporary flooring in the hallway. Any mail thats delivered at home ends up under it lolol I have to scrabble on my knees to retrieve it. No idea where Mitchell, Tylah and myself will be eating our xmas dinner, but it wont be at home! hugs all

gramsbuttonbox 11/14/2007 #

have sent off TWO journals today - to tIREEN - journals belonging to Elisabeth and tIREEN - (yep, your's is heading HOME, Lyuba!) - enjoy it, and get Elisabeth's sent off to her soon, also, as it's also then on its way HOME!

have a good week, everyone, Mary

liniecat 11/19/2007 #

They've arrived!!!! Ive got abit of repair work to do to mine, because its been loved so much en route lol, but thats okay, it adds to the experience! have not read mine yet.......how about that for discipline eh! Ive worked on Marys instead this evening, so I can get it in the post, hopefully tomorrow, if I can slip out from work at lunchtime with it. Im going to savour mine and read it carefully and slowly! Thankyou all so much, so very much! Marieke I loved the quote you put in Marys...brilliant!!!! xx

gramsbuttonbox 11/20/2007 #

These round robin swaps have been such a learning experience for me ( probably for all of us) - and I've really enjoyed every journal that I've been honored to be a part of - I know that I said earlier that I would be starting up another, soon after these wind down, but have re-thought that, and decided that I'm going to take a little break, when these are done.

I honestly never imagined that they would last as long as they did, but for me, that has not diminished the pleasure or inspiration that every one of them has brought my way.

Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart, for sharing your art with me, for being so generous with your talents, by adding to my humble beginnings, and for taking such good care of each other's little gems.

Have a nice Thanksgiving, everyone, (at least here in the US, but everyone, please enjoy your week) - I do look forward to "seeing" you all again, in future ventures, either here in swap-bot, maybe even in future round robins, or if you'd like to just drop me a note to say hi, I think you all have my email address - if you'd like my "real" address, just let me know -

In spite of whatever problems have come along with this swap, I still hold true that this HAS been a wonderful experience, and will stand alone as one of the most FUN things I've been a part of.

Thank you all, and blessings to you and your family!
Mary

AngelFaeryKathleen 11/20/2007 #

Hi Mary, thank you for the above comments.

Your book arrived in New Zealand while I was on holiday. It is wonderfull. I will work on it over the next few days and let you know when it goes air mail. I love your cover. Arty Hugs :-)

liniecat 11/21/2007 #

Disregard my post of the 19th, I put it on the wrong link! Dippy mare me...........lol

marieke 11/27/2007 #

Hi Linie, Your journal is on it's way home, I sent it to your workaddress last week.

Greetings Marieke

bren 11/27/2007 #

Marieke, your book is just about finished. I hope to send it tomorrow. I hope it is worth the wait. Sorry for the delay.

liniecat 11/28/2007 #

Marieke you treasure!

liniecat 12/ 2/2007 #

Can I just say everyone Im thrilled to bits with my Victorian Love book which arrived home yesterday! You have all made it a stunning little journal and I simply adore the poems and input.....its priceless to me. Thankyou all so very much, so very, very much! I will take my time now about a cover for it, dont want to rush into it and the plastic binder I had in mind will look so naff on it that Im going to rethink the binding altogether! Im toying with the idea of using some heavily patterned ( almost like the victorian scraps pictures found on screens etc?)cheap pencils from a £ store. You get 12 in paper mache boxes ( from china) and they are un sharpened you know? Just got to think of how to attach pages without spoiling the individual pages! Remember if anyone hasnt got their original journal, please email me for my own email address, and I will make sure I replace entries in their new journals for them. Both so I dont miss out being in their new ones lol and to payback for all the smashing entries in mine! Many hugs all Lyn

AngelFaeryKathleen 12/ 8/2007 #

My Ò€œFriendshipÒ€? book arrived home on Thursday. Thank you to all of you for making my wee book such a special piece of work of art. The more I look at it the more I see in it. All the love and work and part of your selves that you all put into it is just so amazing. Liniecat is that you watering your garden? That must have been before you where flooded out and not after! Tireen you look just so great in your kimono. Nathalie I love your puppy, when the children saw the photo they wanted to come and pat him. Love and Hugs to you all :-)

AngelFaeryKathleen 12/ 8/2007 #

Mary you will have your book for Christmas. I'm posting it to you today. I'm so sorry I keept it longer than I usaly do but as the last person and with so many empty pages I just go carried away. Hugs :-)

liniecat 12/ 9/2007 #

No Kathleen it isnt me lol if you look carefully theres an Anderson Shelter in it from ww2! Must be from the 50s I think that piccy but so very typically british of that period. Thrilled you like your book too. hugs Lyn

AngelFaeryKathleen 12/ 9/2007 #

Oh Liniecat, I can be so bumb at times, I thought it was a shed. Most gardens in NZ have a shed or 2, there has even a book been written about them. Hugs AFK :-)

gramsbuttonbox 12/11/2007 #

Mary is in the hospital, has been there for two weeks - she will be unable to add to any journals that come this way, but would forward them onward immediately.

She sends her apologies, for any problems that this may cause, and wishes all a happy holiday.

(On a personal note, speaking on behalf of her family, she is in very serious condition, so please say a prayer on her behalf.)

Thank you.

AngelFaeryKathleen 12/11/2007 #

Mary my prayers are with you and I wish you a speedy recovery. Hugs

liniecat 12/11/2007 #

Oh Heavens Mary.......loads of hugs treasure xxxxxx

mediatinker 12/11/2007 #

Mary, hope you are feeling better soon.

mediatinker 12/11/2007 #

I just got in touch with Tireen about where the journals are.

"I sent out your journal and Bren's. I still have Elizabeth's and Natalies's and I'm working on them and should send them out shortly. I think I was the last 'hold up' and once I send the last 2 out there shouldn't be any more coming to me (because I already received my own one).

One of the journals I sent out about week and a half ago... the same time I sent out a big package to my friend in Ukraine. My friend already got her package, so the journal should be in Sweden already too.. And the one before I send out few days earlier."

So Elizabeth, I hope you've gotten two journals recently. :-)

marieke 12/12/2007 #

MaryB I'm thinking about you and your family and hope everything will be oke soon.

liniecat 01/ 6/2008 #

What happening with Mary? Are we still posting to her or going onto who she would have posted to????

mediatinker 01/ 7/2008 #

I think that she has seen all the books already - afaik, it's only 4 remaining out there: two are with Elizabeth and two are with Tireen.

Tireen -> Elizabeth -> mediatinker -> Nathalie -> Bren

liniecat 01/11/2008 #

Thanks Tink.............hope the remaining four find home soon. Perhaps this is what happened with Dreamer? Illness is not picky, we all succumb at times. Odd that no further messages from Mary via the friend has been put in, wish we knew something.

Take care all xx Lyn

Queenbee 01/12/2008 #

Since Mary is sick, you can contact Rachel and have one you become the coordinator so you can find the journals.

I had this done so we could find our journals in the first two swaps Mary hosted.

Shelly

mediatinker 01/16/2008 #

I have Bren's journal! It arrived today from Elizabeth in Sweden. Hooray!

It may take me a few extra days to get my pages done (I'm in the midst of the busiest work rush of the year + managing a charity ball that goes on next Friday) but I will not let it linger too long.

It's a really lovely book and it's inspiring to see everyone's work after such a long time. Bren, you're going to love it. I'll try to make my pages equally good. :-)

Nathalie 02/ 6/2008 #

6 February and still no journals in sight : (

mediatinker 02/18/2008 #

I still have Bren's. It is patiently waiting for me to draw in it - I will force myself to get inspired and get it done today.

But I haven't seen the other three yet. Maybe someday...

Nathalie 02/26/2008 #

Bren's journal arrived in Belgium today. I'll get it home after the weekend.

bren 03/14/2008 #

Wow! Exactly one year, to the day, my journal arrives home! Big thanks to you all for the wonderful pages in my book! I love it! From "the orange thing", coins, photos, quips, and favorite things to your art(like the ATC with it's own pocket page and torn collages), stamps and insight to your own lives. Nathalie- love the surprise pop-up on the final page! I hope the rest of the journals reach their home soon! This was a great swap!!

mediatinker 03/18/2008 #

I despair of seeing my journal again. I hope it someday surprises me by arriving.

liniecat 03/25/2008 #

Media where was your journal last? I cant believe this has happened, not enough that Dreamer dropped out of sighjt but now Mary too. Wish to hell we could find those that are adrift. I feel so guilty that I have mine. When I get back to living downstairs I will gladly do a series of tip ins for those that have missed out. This flooding lark is taking forever. luv to all x Lyn

Nathalie 03/29/2008 #

Same here Media, waiting hopelessly to see my journal arrive

mediatinker 04/ 4/2008 #

Last I heard, my journal had left Lyuba in Florida for Elisabeth in Sweden. Nathalie's was still in Florida, with promises of being sent along soon. I think everyone else's has gotten home now, right?

Things happen, life moves us in different directions and journals are hardly a high priority. Maybe someday...

I'd like to try again if there is another journal swap in the future. :-)

liniecat 05/15/2008 #

Listen in case anyone pops in.......email me if anyones missing a journal still and wants tip ins made to start over? I cant find the other journal listing at all! It was there and then it was GONE! Maybe its my computer or sumthing but it does seem very odd all round. Nathalie any news of your journal? Media any luck with yours? Lyn xx

mediatinker 05/18/2008 #

I have Nathalie's journal and will deliver it in person at the end of this week as Nathalie is in Japan on a holiday! My journal is still AWOL.

Nathalie 05/29/2008 #

I received mine straight of the hands of Mediatinker and wanted to thank everyone for his/hers contribution. The best thing of it all is that I made new friends all over the world.

Marieke if you read this. Mail me your adress en dan kunnen we ns afspreken in Maastricht ; )

Thanks

Nathalie

ddnuland 06/29/2008 #

Hi everyone! Sorry to drop off the face of the Earth. Have had a really rough spring. Haven't seen any journal action since Bren's that I sent to mediatinker back in January. Any more coming my way? Any idea where mine is?

On a personal note, I was hoping to hear that Mary was doing better. Any news?

Also, how cool is that to have your journal hand delivered while in Japan...jealous!

Happy July! Elisabeth, aka ddnuland
