Description: | |
Take a journey into "the heart of darkness"- your own heart that is, to find what dark things are lurking there just beneath the surface... This is a swap for those who have a dark nature and embrace it. For this swap you will reveal a number of dark things to your partner. ~1. Write a letter and describe your definition of what evil is...Is evil turning a blind eye to those less fortunate than ourselves? Is it the Devil? Is evil just a force that strikes at random and touches us all? Describe what evil means to you. Also in the letter include one dark secret, fantasy, or fact about yourself that no one else knows (remember to keep it within legal limits). This should help get anything that has been weighing on you a chance to breathe and get it off your mind. It should be a given that any secrets shared with our partners should be kept, and never revealed. ~2. Please include one book that touches your dark little soul. It can be Horror, Gothic Romance, Supernatural, etc., as long as it goes with the theme of the swap. It can be new, thrifted (but in good condition, no missing covers, torn or missing pages, etc., and the binding is still tight), or something from your personal collection that you wish to share, again as long as it is in good shape. ~3. An artistic representation of what scares you...are you afraid of vampires? Killer clowns? Full moons or monsters? This can be done in a number of ways...a matchbox turned into a coffin? a voodoo dotee perhaps? an ATC drawn to express what is scary...the limits are endless, just make it nice and be creative. ~4. Finally, something for your partner to ward off what scares them. It can be an amulet of some kind, a dreamcatcher, a sachet made with herbs to ward off bad dreams, you get the idea, something that would soothe their fears and keep a little of the darkness at bay. (If swappers would like to, leave a brief comment on what scares you- that way, if possible, your partner can try to acommodate you when selecting or making your ward/charm, although this may not be possible for every fear so it is not a requirement). Please make this a thoughtful swap. Extras are nice if tailored to your partner's likes, but try to really do a good job on the actual swap first and foremost. Remember extras do not make up for a swap that is just thrown together hastily or doesn't meet criteria. Now for the unpleasantries: Please do not sign up if you do not plan to follow through, anyone that flakes on a swap I host will not be allowed in any future swaps I create. Since this is a more involved swap I will ask that you have a 4.9 or better rating, no recent no sends, and at least 5 non-email/mail swaps to your credit. Please be sure you can commit to this swap if you sign up! Please be online within a week of partners being assigned. I reserve the right ban those who have not been online recently, are suspicious swappers, etc. It is difficult to put a dollar amount on this swap since most of it may or could be homemade, but I would say $5-$8 value for the book and whatever you need to spend to make or obtain the rest. Let's all try to be thoughtful and make something we would be happy to receive! This swap will be international so make sure you are comfortable with shipping overseas and don't mind paying for it, this is too delicious of a swap to keep to just the US. I want as many good swappers as we can get in on this one! I am allowing enough time to sign up and enough time to get it sent out so we can all take the time we need to deliver a great swap! If I have left something out, or if anyone has any questions please leave a comment here or pm me. I am always happy to help! Thank you and have all the dark fun you can with this one! |
