Number of swap partners:2
Description:

This is the third in the recycle, reuse, repurpose ATC swaps.

I like to recycle, reuse, and repurpose items in my art. So I thought it would be fun to make ATCs with brown paper bags. Embellishments are welcome, just remember the finished cards must fit into a standard trading card sleeve.

Each person will have 2 partners and send 2 ATCs to each partner. You do not have to make 4 different ATCs but please make as least 2 different ones for each person. That means you will make 4 artist trading cards and send two to each of your 2 assigned partners. And you will receive 2 from each of your 2 partners.

Any theme but a brown bag must constitute at least 80% of the ATC. Only original ATCs please, no computer generate ones!

Artist trading cards are 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches, and should be flat enough to slide into a standard trading card sleeve.

Please be sure you can meet the mailing deadline of February 26 2009 before you sign up for this swap.

Newbies are welcome. Please don't sign up for this one if you have a swap-bot rating lower than 4.

I missed the sign up date for the recycled box atc's. That was the one I really wanted to do. If anyone would like to do a private swap with me let me know.

callalily, I am thinking about running a general "found" ATC where people can use junk mail, recycled boxes, shopping bags, etc. I have been asked to do the junk mail and recycled box so this could cover all of those.

callalily 02/ 4/2009 #

OK Thanks I will join!

can we use a cardboard blank and cover it in a brown paper bag for more sturdiness? I usually cut mine from cereal boxes or sticker cards...but they would be completely covered by the bag, is that okay?

alteredtome 02/ 5/2009 #

Oh, yes. You will need a sturdy support.

SkippyMom 02/ 5/2009 #

THANKS! I already finished mine - this was FUN! :D

Finally got a brown paper bag today, so I can begin my creations. This is a great idea. I like the idea of recycling materials. Let me know when you host another!

I finially finished a painting I made from a paper bag that I wanted to make into ATCs. It's at this link if anyone wants to check it out. Sent to goodie2shoes & boriquaz.

I'm just about done with my ATC's. These are my very first ones and I had a lot fo fun making them. I do not have any of the sleeves and work in mostly reclaimed materials. Is there a way to make them? Is it tacky to send my ATC's in a baggie? (It seems like it is to me.)
