Description:

Want to learn more about a different country, and tell people all about your homeland?

In this swap you will have one partner, which you will send a paper "tour" to!

You can tell them anything about your country, Like facts, words in your language, cultural meals, places to visit or even your own experiences of what it is like living where you live.

max. weight is 50 grams, in a roughly A5 or A6 sized envelope.

I did a swap like this on instagram, and I made flashcards explaining what transport, school and food is like in my country, then a few place names and what you can visit in them alongside a letter, tickets, and some themed washi tape.

Please send a letter (not a note) about your country, plus at least two goodies from the list below. Optional: it would be nice to decorate the envelope inspired by your country! (flags, stereotypical items, etc)

PLEASE NOTE: If you are sending to Australia, please do not include pressed flowers as they will not make it past Australian customs!

Unsure on what to send? Here are some ideas: Photos from your country, teas, used postal stamps or tickets (train, bus) book pages in your language, postcards, pressed flowers, washi tape in your countries style, stickers, magazine/newspaper cuttings, tourist destination flyers, etc. Anything as long as it has some significance to your country!

Newbies welcome, but no unexplained recent 1's or 3's. This swap will require effort to make, so please only send something that time has gone into, and that you would like to receive yourself.

Happy swapping!

Did you mean minimum weight 50g?

Nuisant 09/28/2019 #

There isn’t a minimum weight, but just try to be generous with what you send :)

Helena8664 09/28/2019 #

Are you only allowing one person per country? Otherwise you could have a bunch of people talking about the same country! :D

Nuisant 09/28/2019 #

It doesn’t really matter if multiple people from one country are involved since you only have one partner, so they’ll still only receive mail from one country even though two people may send from the same country! I hope my explication made that clear, but ask me if you still have any questions!

I'm in the US. Is that ok that I joined?

Nuisant 09/30/2019 #

Yeah! You can join from any country

I think the swap description should read minimum weight 50 grams and not "max. weight is 50 grams" because that would be a very thin envelope, not enough to prepare a good swap for the partner.

I love this swap @Nuisant It would be great if you could host one like this every two months or even on a monthly basis to get to know swappers from many different countries :-)

Nuisant 10/ 8/2019 #

@canariangal78 thank you for your feedback! If enough people enjoy this swap I’ll make it a monthly thing, and i may do some minimum weight 50 gram swaps for those who want to send bigger mail :) for now as a trial I have done a smaller swap, but I’ll do a larger one in the future! Maybe one with two partners too so you learn about two countries?

CavalierCommunications 10/ 8/2019 #

NB please don't send a pressed flower to Australia, it won't make it through customs because of strict biosecurity laws :)

Canariangal78 10/ 8/2019 #

@Nuisant - that sounds great!! I am going to join the larger swap you organize in the future :-)

Nuisant 10/10/2019 #

@canariangal78 I should make a bigger swap in november/december, so I will send you a message once I do!

Nuisant 10/10/2019 #

@CavalierCommunications thank you for letting me know! I have included this into the swap description
