Description:

I love the idea of postalettes, but have never actually gotten one. It seems like most shops don't really carry them, anymore, so I thought it'd be fun to make some! If you're not familiar with them, a postalette is something of a cross between a postcard and a note card; a tri-folded card with a message written inside, postage & address info on the back, sealed, & sent naked (no envelope).

For this swap you'll have 1 partner* that you'll send a handmade postalette to. I've made this a type 3 because although it is flat mail, it should be nicely crafted & well decorated. Make it something special; don't just slap a couple of stickers on & call it done. :p Decorations are sender's choice, but it's always good to check your partner's profile for ideas. Write a nice message inside, a quote, a drawing, a list, whatever you like, & include the swap name & your username.

To join, you must have at least 10 swaps, 4.9+ rating, & no recent 1's or 3's.

***I may up this to 2 partners, if enough folks are interested. :)

I will angel this swap if need be, just shoot me a message & be sure to rate your partner!

I don't see any examples in youtube or anything to get measurements and such. It looks super easy but would be nice to see a sample made just for tips.

In the ones I've seen, it appears that the top and middle sections are about the same size & the third one is quite a bit smaller. I did one just to try it out. I cut a piece of paper to 7" x 9" & folded it at 4" & 8" , making a finished card measuring 4" x 7" when closed with a 1" flap to close it. I think something along that size would work well :)

I prefer one partner.

Sample in photo looks smaller but SquidSorbet gave us good measurements that I think will make a pretty postalette with enough room for nice message. Great idea. I think I will propose this to my stamping group. Thanks.

Hints: If postalette does not want to fold after scoring at 4 and 8 inches, just shave off a small strip across bottom so that bottom fits under top flap neatly. If you have any cutter with a decorative edge you can have a pretty-looking flap like in sample.
