Description:

We're all here because we love snail mail, right? But have you ever sent snail themed mail? Well that's what this series is about!!

Instead of different themes in the same medium like most series, this is going to be the SAME theme represented in DIFFERENT forms (pocket letter, PC, flipbook, ATC, deco, inchies, etc.)

To start off with though, it will be senders choice whether you make a postcard, write a letter with illustrations, send a goodie pack of snail stickers and washi with a note, or anything else that tickles your fancy, as long as the mail centres around the theme of SNAILS!! Feel free to write a letter or even short fiction story about your experience with snails or a whimsical imagination of what a snails life might be like.

Open to Newbies, but there is an expectation of quite a lot of thought and effort in this swap, so contact me if you would like guidance. It is also an international swap so be prepared to pay international postage.

Please do not flake! I will angel if necessary.

You mean the animal the snail?

Vintagecraft 11/24/2019 #

I don't have any stickers that represents a snail

FeetInTheSoil 11/24/2019 #

Yes @vintagecraft the animal the snail. If you don't have stickers, include something different such as a handmade postcard or printer letter paper which depicts the snail.

OK. Thank you for the enlightenment โค๏ธ

PrettyAlice 12/ 3/2019 #

So we only send one snail related item or multiple snail items?

FeetInTheSoil 12/ 4/2019 #

@PrettyAlice as many snail themed items as you can find! For example you might draw a snail ATC, find some snail stickers, print out some cute snail photos and then include that and a letter in a mini flipbook or locket letter that you've collaged a snail on to! Or you might write a short story about life as a snail and include some herbal teas made from plants that snails eat ๐Ÿ˜‚ I think there's lots of room to have fun with it, that's why I have made the first one so broad.

@feelinTheSoil ok thanks! This swap sound fun!

Eimana9 12/ 9/2019 #

I am new to the site But I have already exchanged letters, posters, tea envelopes, and others

Where can I find addresses that I will send to them?

FeetInTheSoil 12/ 9/2019 #

@eimana9 after the close date of the swap has passed partners will be assigned and when that happens there will be a link in the right hand panel (only visible to members of the swap who have joined) that is an option to see the partner you send to. Clicking the link reveals the address. I highly recommend reading the site FAQ section as there are many many small things like this that you will need to learn in order to correctly use this site which are all simple to learn by reading those pages.

'm confused...in the directions you put "To start off with though, it will be senders choice whether you make a postcard, write a letter with illustrations, send a goodie pack of snail stickers and washi with a note, or anything else that tickles your fancy, as long as the mail centres around the theme of SNAILS!! Feel free to write a letter or even short fiction story about your experience with snails or a whimsical imagination of what a snails life might be like."

But then you told @PrettyAlice ๏ฟฝ"as many snail themed items as you can find!"

I know that for any swap, we can always send more than the required amount, but is the required amount in the swap rules, or what you told @prettyalice ..Would you please clarify the rules for this swap?

I would love to join the swap, but would like a clarification so I know what is expected when my partner gets their envie. Thank you ๐ŸŒ

@RiverTopanga great question :)

The sender's choice is for the overall format of the mail, senders choice as distinct from a specific swap such as the future swaps in the series where it's an ATC swap or a flipbook swap or a tag flip swap or an altered book swap etc. So with this one (the first swap in the series) you pick the format of what you'd like to send, happymail style. As in, if your favourite mail to make us pocket letters for example you would make a snail themed pocket letter plus extras, or if you prefer to make homemade cards you will make a snail card plus extras.

What I replied in the comments is in reference to the goodies/extras you include. of course snail themed items aren't very common and if the goodies/extras you include (stickers, stationary, jewelry, stamps, washi, etc) aren't snail themed that is acceptable but I wanted to make it clear this is a snail swap so if you CAN find (or make!) The extras and goodies snail themed as well as obviously the main part of thee mail (a snail themed thing is your choosing as detailed above) you should definitely do so.

So essentially the two pieces of information that we're confusing you are referring to the two parts of the mail: the description of the swap details the format of the mail or the 'main event', while the comment replies explain the expectations for the gifts/extras or 'sides' ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hope this helps :)

Hello! When will swap partners be assigned? Thanks!

FeetInTheSoil 01/14/2020 #

I am so sorry everyone, I have messed up the assigning if partners - first I was very unwell and didn't get to it, and now I've accidentally done so without banning the two people with blank profiles. I will message those people and I'd you're flaked on, I will angel. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience.
