This is an intense swap for those who love to journal with art and writing. Here are the requirements: Use a 5x7 or composition size notebook with at least 50 sheets of paper. You are going to count each side of a sheet as one page. Lined, graph or art paper are fine. Every sheet in the notebook must be decorated/ journaled on at least one side. You can do more than listed below, but be sure to include the things listed. Make it fun and full of surprises. I am leaving this swap open until the swap date. You should work on your journal and be ready to send the first week of April. This, hopefully, will eliminate anyone flaking. 4.99 minimum, 50 completed swaps or 50 hearts to join, please. When says art pages, I am Required to draw?

kgeslab 12/17/2019 #

Any form of art except sticker slapping is fine. So mixed media, drawing, collage, painting, knitting a page, quilting a page... any art form you love except sticker slapping.

For the art pages, can we do the art and paste it into the journal? For example, I hate doing Zentangle on lined paper, so would want to do the Zentangle on other paper and mount it into the journal itself for my recipient to either leave in the journal or take out to use elsewhere. Would that be acceptable?

I am not at 50 but hope to be by then. Even if not.. I get to play.. pretty excited about this.. thanks for inspiring and challenging me to meet an art journal goal for the year.

ariestess - Yest you can glue stuff in... check out smashbooks on the internet.

@kgeslab I didn't mean like smashbook stuff. I meant like doing a piece of Zentangle art that I add to the journal with like photo corners, so my recipient can choose to keep it in the journal or take it out to use elsewhere.

Yes, that is art. I would love that they could take it out to use it later.

This is a great challenge and a goal for 2020. One of my New Year resolutions is to increase my abilities and inspirations to try doing more art.

I will write and draw on one side of each sheet so my partner can add to the other side.

This is such a fabulous challenge and I think you are soooo smart to have the sign up and send date close together. I signed up for it but I haven't been able to keep up so I was able to drop the swap and now I don't feel distress and pressure. I'll just sign up for the next go round. Thanks for hosting these journal swaps.

What do you mean journal prompts for future use?

beaglemom 03/21/2020 #

You can google it or search on Pinterest , but some people like to answer questions for a journal entry. For example.... write a letter to your 16 year self. Tell me about your favorite holiday. If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?
