Description:

In this swap you will create a handmade bag for your partner. All participants will list their favorite types of fabrics and desired bag styles below. Realize however that your partner does NOT have to make that bag, as all of our sewing skills are different, however they will try their best to create something similar to the style you desire.

Fabrics should be of good quality and can be in any type of fabric, i.e. cotton, corduroy, canvas, etc. I am going to be slightly strict on this swap. Only those with a 4.8 or higher may join. In addition, you must have completed at least 10 mail-swaps (not email swaps). You must have no 1's or 3's from the last 6 months. This will remain USA only due to postal costs. Feel free to create an International one if you want!

For hearts, include only one extra you think they will like after viewing their profile. Not necessary to send anything exuberant to increase the postage. Also, there is nothing that lets me down more than opening my package, finding a wonderful gift, and NO NOTE! Please write a brief note telling your partner who you are and what swap you are sending. Your partner will appreciate it, trust me!

Any questions? Contact me personally please, nothing in the Comments below.

I need a tote that has pockets or dividers on the inside for my eye glasses, wallet, day planner, and a reading book. I use a tote and can never find anything in it! A longer strap is good as well. Something in greens and blues is great, or reds and burgundies. I love batik fabrics. I would like some sort of closure on the top if possible. Below are some sites of patterns that I like. The last site is with the HOBO bag, which I really love.

this is a great idea. i used to jump at the chance to join these kinds of swaps, back in the day. i <3 my timbuk2 way too much, though, so even the greatest creation made here probably wouldn't get much use...and, to me, that just doesn't seem right, so i'll close my eyes and let this one pass me by. i hope everyone that joins has a ton of fun with it and gets a lot of use out of their new bag.

I have to admit that I'm a little hard on the bags I carry. A good sturdy material would be great. I tend to carry dark colors,(to hide the dirt and scuffs)

I am looking forward to this swap. I would like a bag with a long handle to sling across my body. I don't want it to be huge because I have back problems and need to be discouraged from hauling lots of stuff :] I would be delighted if it has a bright and/or colorful lining. Thanks for using your time and talents to make a bag for me.
