Description:

Food costs are rising and the quality of the food is going down. My husband and I have decided to grow our own spring garden and learn how plants grow and can the veggies when they are ready for harvest!

Wouldn't it just be positively quaint and awesome to exchange garden seed with like-minded individuals?! Lets get excited about the beautiful earth God's given us to grow clean, green, healthy vegetables from. It's healthy and good for us, and good for the earth.

This swap is for you if you live in the country or in a city apartment. growing a vegetable plant (OR HERB PLANT!) indoors is extremely easy. I can send directions or links to anyone who has never grown a plant before.

The object of the swap::: Each person will have 1 swap partner. At the advice of another member, this swap is US only. It is illegal in some countries to send seeds there. When your partner is picked out for you, do some research and find out what 'zone' they live in, to see what seeds grow best in that particular climate. There is no $$$ limit, but keep it limited to 1-2 packets of seed. It would be a good idea to pick a seed that grows well in a pot, just in case your partner lives in an apartment.

Please consider putting your zone in your profile so your partner will know!

Your seed can be vegetable, herb or flowers! You can be creative with your packaging! You can make it fun and interesting for your partner.

Newbs are welcome -- just please don't screw your partner. I can angel if neccessary!

If you have any questions, please email me and I will answer! Thank you!

some states and countries do not allow certain seeds to be sent, its good to check seed catalogs since they usually list such things.

Mystmaiden has a good point that I did not remember! I know CA and HI are usually anal retentive with seeds and stuff like that. Please remember that when signing up if you live in those states.

Please note the new rules for this swap. It has been changed from International to US ONLY due to the rules and regulations to go with shipping seeds overseas. This awareness was raised by another member. Thank you very much!

Im joining this swap! I love gardening! Might I suggest a website for gardeners with cabin fever (who live in cold climates) www.wintersown.org this is so cool. I did it last year in milk jugs with about 60% success. Will make better choices this year. lol

Nice idea! I can only accept organic seeds - if this is a problem for anyone, let me know so I can drop out in time. (I have an all-organic farm)

Hello everyone, I live in NY about an hour and a half north of NYC, not sure what zone that is in. We have a veggie garden and I love flower gardens. I love planting new seeds and experimenting. I have found that when I do plant it does have to take limited care because it may be neglected at times:) Easy to grow is my motto. Thank you, looking forward to swapping.

please send me herbs as i am going to start an herb garden this year.

PLEASE NOTHING TOXIC TO CATS! I can't trust some of our kitties. I would love something easy to grow. I'm wanting to attempt a vegetable garden this year despite our crazy hard ground. Something that chickens don't like (does that exist?) would be fantastic since my neighbors let their chickens roam everywhere. Indoor or outdoor are good.
