Celebrating Friendship!International Friendship Day is July 30. Some countries will celebrate on the first Sunday in August and some folks will celebrate it the day after Valentine's π . Either way, it's always a good time to celebrate friends! For this swap, we'll do that by sending a friendship bracelet and a written notecard. About the braceletThe bracelet can be handmade or store-bought. It can be made of embroidery thread, cotton, leather, or other string. Quality-wise, it should be on par with something you'd be proud to give your best friend. To the level where you yourself would wear it, and it'd last awhile if you wore it everyday, like you did back at summer camp! It will probably help to read your partner's profile to get a sense of their style (or at least what colors they like). Some people may prefer a wild, colorful bracelet like this, while others may prefer something more understated, such as this. If you've got a strong reaction to something or preference for something (as in, "I'm vegan, no leather" or "I'm allergic to nickel" or "my wrists are really small") you may want to put that in the comment box below for your future partner. About the cardBeing a friend means different things to different folks. Brittanica says friendship is "almost always characterized by companionship and shared activities ...such as serving as sources of emotional support and providing opportunities for self-disclosure and intimacy. So... the card itself is sender's choice, but a personalized message is expected. Write like a friend would! For this swap, you don't have to dig too deep or go TMI on the notecard, but sharing something of yourself with your partner would be nice. Definitely include more than just the swap name - but don't forget to include that too! The Swap Specs
