Description:

We all have that one that got away long ago or maybe someone you had feelings for that you never had a chance to tell how you felt. Or maybe you have one right now or something you want to say to someone and can't get up the courage. And if you don't, heck you are more than welcome to make one up if you want to join! The romantic I am, I also dream of finding sweet love letters in a bottle everytime I go to the beach. I mean, come on! How cool would that be?! For this swap you will have one partner only. The goal is to write a love letter expressing your love/interest for that person of your desire. Address it to them from you as if you were really going to send it. Then, you must put it in a bottle and mail it to your partner. You made include extras in the bottle. Perhaps a picture of that person. Something that reminds you of them. Or maybe some shells from the beach you walk. Whatever. Be creative with this and have fun...make it look vintage if you want or maybe use colored paper...I don't personally care how you do it, but I think we can all agree that the more personal/neater the better. International is welcome and newbies are allowed with a filled out profile. I will ban anyone with lots of no sends...If you've been rated unfairly or something let me know.

Ooooh if it were USA only i'd join. Glass is pretty pricey to ship! I'll be watching : )

Doesn't have to be a glass bottle...could be a plastic one...or a paper mache one...or...make an envelope in the shape of a bottle. Think outside of the glass bottle box if you get an international partner.

Sounds like a fun idea! On my watch list.

this is a pretty good idea. does it have to be in a bottle or can it just be the letter in an envelope?

@ luvsandlife- I totally understand about the costly price of shipping! Believe me, I get it. But I always hate when other people are excluded just for where they are living. SEREN is right, it could be a plastic bottle, it could be paper folded into a bottle, it could be paper mache, anything really. I would like it to stay within the theme of something you could find on the beach. @ Seren- I love your "think outside the box" ideas. :) @ Luthien07- I really hope you can join us. I would love to have you! The more the merrier! @ Moggiex- It doesn't have to be in an actual glass bottle, but I am trying to stay within the message in a bottle theme. If you read my comments above, there are some ideas of bottle substitutes. I would say use your imagination and perhaps put it in something that a message could be found in if you were walking on the beach...a clam? a shell? or even a bottle folded out of paper....Use your imagination. (Only because I know everyone on this site has an amazing one) I really thank everyone for taking the time to read this and I hope that I see you all joining. For a while I thought I was going to have to cancel it...Thanks for making my day! :)

I'm ready to drop my bottle in the mail. Just waiting for partners to be assigned. I think this is a really fun idea for a swap! Kudos!

Cupcakecalamity 03/ 5/2009 #

sorry for the delay on assigning partners! The internet went down at my house and I had to wait for my company to come out and fix it! :( Thanks so much for your patience!

No problem at all. I was just excited for it to start (again, this is a really fun idea - THANKS), and wanted to make sure that >I< didn't get behind. I had to take a bit of a break from Swap-Bot cuz of other swap obligations and want to make sure I didn't get sloppy and let a deadline sneak past me!

@ BetsyPreston:

Haha. I hear totally hear you. It seems that whenever I have a week where swaps are due, life has other ideas for me that week, so I've also learned to send early. :) I am so glad that you joined and liked the idea. I was the only one in it for so long I was convinced I would have to cancel it. Seriously, every one in this swap saved me from feeling like an epic failure. :)

I got my swap today. I was incredible to say the least. :)
