Description:

Let's treat our four legged friends to yummy treats and a fun surprise!

Please list below if you have a boy or girl dog and any favorite treats of theirs or any allergies. If you don't list then you cannot participate. The goal of this swap is for your partner to be able to put together something special for your pooch!

Once partners are assigned you will buy at least one treat and one toy for your partner's pet pooch. Minimum should be at least $5. Please let's all try to buy American - support your local pet stores and dog bakeries! No dollar store items and/or things from China - we don't want to make our precious pets sick.

If you have delicious doggie treat recipes that you know are 'pooch approved,' then by all means, please share with the other doggies. So, for the treats you'll be sending, they can be store bought or homemade....same with the toys....just keep in mind what your partner's dog's likes are...

I will read profiles and ban as needed. Swappers should have a 4.9 rating or above.

After you receive, please rate!

Thanks to everyone that joins!

I have a male yellow lab named Truth and a red female Irish Setter named Avril. No known allergies. They love treats and will share anything sent to one of them.

I have a fat Jack Russell named Saffron. She loves tennis balls and also any toys that squeak. Unfortunately they only last about a half hour because she tears them apart. She'll eat anything except ketchup.

Ok - I have to say I so laughed at the puppy who won't eat ketchup! How do you figure that out? LOL - I would have figured it out too. My dogs are my second children. I have a very very old black lab - almost 16 - he still eats, but doesn't play too much. I have an almost 2 year old mini doxie who is such a piglett. She likes stuffed animals. She does not like squeakers. And I have a new baby. He is a Yorkie Pomerarian mix. He is a chewer. Anything he can get and keep from him big sister is his favorite right now. :)

Hi there, I have a question about the treats - so if we buy a huge box, do we send the huge box or just a few treats from inside? (I'm thinking dog biscuits and the like) Or should we get smaller items? I don't want to send anyone anything they'd be disappointed with, but my dog loves her "after walk treats" and I wouldn't mind sharing them with other poochies - but the box is HUGE. Thanks for any light you can shed :)

I have a Pekingese-Shih tzu who is turning 7 in two months and she is my absolute baby, she is active but also can sit for hours on my lap with me petting her (or anyone... she's easygoing) although she will give you up for a cookie or food anytime! She's a bit of a pig and does not eat onions (and I won't let her eat chocolate [duh] or tomatoes or grapes or anything on the 'toxic' list) or anything that is slightly pungent like that. But mostly, if she sees me eating it, she wants it. Peanut butter is a favorite of course as well as bacon or anything meat-smelling/flavored. I would love recipes for dog treats, I've never attempted to make any but it sounds fun!

Oh, sorry, I talk too much: She also hates rubber / hard plastic / especially rubberized toys, she doesn't like the smell. She likes squeaky fuzzy balls a lot and rope toys are OK by her as well.
And though you can totally send for just one of them, I also have recently adopted a beagle/French bulldog mix who we are still learning his likes and dislikes. He's definitely a chewer/biter though so anything to satisfy that need would be much appreciated, if you choose to send him. (He's only 3-4 months old so bear in mind he's still a puppy!)

Thanks :)

I have a 1 year old Bassett Hound, Ottis, who loves small stuffed animal type toys to carry around with him. As far as treats he has no allergies and will eat anything that doesn't eat him first!

Hello! I am a new pet owner. I have a 7 month old female mini-dachshund, her name is Freeda. She pretty much likes all types of toys, but seems pretty picky about treats, as in she prefers more expensive ones, and has has turned her nose up at cheap treats..haha, I guess she must be spoiled or something, but I am her second owner and take no resposiblity for that behaviour! LOL Anyways whatever you send would be fine. I am soo excited.

Hi! I think I have one of the bigger dogs in this swap. lol I have an 86 pound Black and Tan Coonhound mix named Lucky Yuengling. He eats anything I give him and LOVES squeaker toys. The only think Lucky can't have is anything rawhide. I haven't figured out what it is about rawhide he can't have, but his stomach can't handle it. He's fine with everything else!

I have a german shepard/ siberian husky mix and next weekend I am getting a new puppy! A german shepard/ golden retriever mix!!! I am so excited! My Harley can only have natural stuff. He is allergic to the green and red dyes. He doesn't like to chew bones. He licks them. He loves stuffed animals to rip apart - so cheap cheap ones are good because they last about 30 seconds with him (event the tiger toy ones last 30 seconds). I get the dollar dog toys at walgreens. He loves peanut butter. BTW - I am a newbie.. so I might get kicked out. If so.. please disregard. But I will be back.. I might even make my own swap of doggie things! :)

I have a 4 year old female black and tan Shiba Inu named Sadie Sue. She hates peanut butter treats, but loves anything meaty. She loves to RIP the stuffing out of stuffed animals, and likes things that squeek when she bites them. What an ANIMAL!!!

I have female basset hound that will be a year old in about 3 weeks. Her name is Queenie (short for Trailer Park Queen!). She loves any kind of treats and toys. She especially loves the squeaky ones, and usually tears them up within a matter of minutes. I just love her, she has brought so much happiness to me.

oreooreo 03/24/2009 #

a black and white shih tzu names OREO!!! 3 yrs old, will eat anything!!! but i don't give him everything...i don't want him to be a picky eater, he loveeesss desserts, cakes, ice cream, cookies, i do give it to him in tiny amounts, well i give him stuff in tiny amounts as long as he eats his own food, he loveeesss soft latex plastic squeeky toys, kills the squeekiness in under a minute usually and then looses interests...then i have to keep buying him new toys =P, generally he gets a new toy every week...im running out of toys for him, oh did i tell you that he has his OWN room, not a closet but a full medium sized room!! but...what can i say i love my doggie...so how does this swap thing work??
