Int'l RR Journal Swap #3

Swap categories: Challenges  Books  Art
Number of people in swap:10
Location:International
Type:Type 3: Package or craft
Last day to signup/drop:May 10, 2007
Date items must be sent by:July 12, 2007
Number of swap partners:1
Description:

UPDATE 4/27 - We are now at TEN swappers, so the swap is CLOSED. Mailing deadline remains the same - get your journals ready to send.

This may be different from other journal swaps you've seen, but hopefully you can understand it.

This is a Int'l swap. There is also a USA-only version. You can find that at http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/3050

This swap is for a journal that you decorate, and then, like a Friendship Book "fb" (see my website for more info about those) - send it onward, to a first "swap partner". (You will be assigned ONE partner thru swap-bot.)

Then THAT person decorates a page or two, writes some fun/inspirational/poetic/encouraging things, adds some embellishments, etc, and then sends it ONWARD to their swap partner, the "next name" on the list - and so on...

Every person in the swap will add their talents/inspiration to every other person's journal!

The journal begins its travels in the hands of its OWNER - the person who will end up with it at the end. So pick out something YOU like, and begin decorating/embellishing it right away.

NOTE: Please be willing to commit to sending the journal onward within 5 DAYS after receiving it, so that it does not take TOOOOOO long to make its journey.

(Ya with me so far?)

The group size is limited to about 10 swappers, and you MUST have a rating of at least 4.8 to join.

If you have ANY no-send ratings, please contact me before signing up, or clear them up before the deadline. This group has a major responsibility of carefully handling every person's journal, and I do not want to introduce the possibility of any of them being "misplaced" along the way.

Two weeks from sign-up deadline to sending off your journal - you can get it now, and start decorating it -

IMPORTANT - - BE SURE TO PUT YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS (AND SWAP-BOT NAME), SOMEWHERE INSIDE THE FRONT OR BACK COVER OR SOMEPLACE VERY VISIBLE!

TO AVOID THE POSSIBILITY of missing someone on the list, and also to be better able to "track down" any missing journals, each "journal journey" will be the same - in other words, you will always send to (and receive from) the SAME partners.

I'm Sorry, but since this is a pretty major undertaking, newbies will not be a part of this group at this time. I want everyone to get their wonderfully decorated journals BACK when they are DONE!

While you CAN check out people's profiles when you are decorating their journals, I want you to put YOURSELF into your expression, and be creative with it.

Hope we can have some fun with this! Any questions, comment below or message me.

Question:

Do we follow the same theme that the "owner" starts, or do we do something different?

Thanks.

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 9/2007 #

(some faq's, if you will, from previous rr journal swaps)

"What size journal should I get?" I think we don't have to go larger than about 9 inches by about 6 inches, (22.86 cm x 15.24 cm) - not too big, not too small.

I've also seen some smaller, some that are more square than rectangle - - but the point here, is that you are picking out YOUR OWN journal - and it will come back to you, so if you LIKE some particular style, then that should be YOUR choice. (does that make sense?) Please be kind, and don't pick something that weighs a ton, because 10 people are going to be shipping it around the country - ~smile~

"What is the PROCESS of how this works?" Every person will receive (from me) the swap partner that they receive from, and also (from swap-bot) who they send to - (and yes, you will always receive from and send to the same swap-partners) - this is why we are limiting this to about 10 swappers, or it could get very outrageous!

Since we are not open to newbies, I sure do HOPE that means that we all understand what it's like to be on the receiving end of a no-sender, so this will help to track down any journals.

AFTER you send a journal, please post here that you received so-and-so's journal and sent it on its way. That way we know where each one is in the process, and yes, can track them down if necessary.

"Can I do the same thing in each journal, or does each one have to be different?" As far as I'm concerned, you can do whatever your creativity guides you to do - if you have a wonderful idea, carry it through so everyone can be the happy recipient of it - if you think of a "theme" where each journal is related, yet different, that would be awesome also. And if you want to go completely off in a different direction on each one, that will be superb! I think I can safely speak for this wonderful COMMITTED group of swappers that I'm sure we will enjoy whatever each person puts forth - let it speak from your heart - even if you don't think you are artsy, be encouraging. It's gonna be FUN!

more than 1 journal? it may be possible that at some point in this process, you will end up with more than one journal in your possession at a given time. If that is the case, you CERTAINLY can send them all off together, since they will all be going to the SAME partner. (Plus this would save on mailing!) Please, however, do not hold any journals more than a few days, "waiting" for others to arrive. (Just make sure that you remember to add something to every journal before sending it on its way! lol)

Remember, this is a HEALTHY addiction - artsy round robin journals! I'm lovin' it so far! MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 9/2007 #

I think I was typing that while you were sending your question, kandm17 - hope that helps - if you have any other questions, just post them here -

this is the 5th!!!! journal round robin, with a couple familiar faces, here - (there's also a USA-only version)

and I'm quickly finding my new addiction! hahahaha have a great week, everyone, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 9/2007 #

and I've been asked, and YES, you CAN sign up for more than one of these round-robins, just remember that it is a commitment to work on and send off that many journals, but let's all have FUN with it!

have a good week, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 9/2007 #

Hi, and welcome all of you - these round robins have been filling up faster than I ever thought! What FUN!

Just so you know, since I am very determined to keep the numbers manageable, and would not want more than 10-11 swappers, if we reach that number quickly, I can easily close the swap and move it ahead, so we can get started sooner.

Therefore, please YES, get your journals right away and begin decorating/embellishing them, so that they will be ready to send when you find out who your partners are.

If you have any questions, write them here, or contact me.

Let's have some FUN with this! MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 9/2007 #

if you need some inspirations - there are some wonderful resources, books, etc....just a FEW are listed here -

Visual Chronicles by Linda Woods and Karen Dinino alphabetica (I'm not sure, but maybe Lynne Perrella) artist journals and sketchbooks by Lynne Perrella The Decorated Journal and The Decorated Page by Gwen Diehn How to Make a Journal of Your Life by Daniel Price Drawing from Life by Jennifer New Making Journals by Hand by Jason Thompson

(and many others...)

These should be available thru your library, or at a bookstore, or amazon, or just google "artistic journals" or something like that, you'll come up with oodles of ideas.

what a HEALTHY addiction! MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/15/2007 #

IMPORTANT NOTE to everyone in this swap: Just so everyone knows - i am very serious about keeping our numbers right around 10 swappers - one more or less is fine, but since this swap is about sending EVERY journal to EVERY swapper, I do not want it to get so big that it's unreasonable.

SOOOO.....as the number approaches ten, I will contact each of you, to ask if you'd like to shut it down SOONER - and yes, that means getting it started sooner! (Another good reason for you to get started on your journals right away!)

Keep checking back on this page, to watch our numbers, and let me know if you'd be agreeable to starting earlier if necessary.

Also, if you know a great swapper who might be interested in joining us, please contact them - for either THIS swap or the USA version (swap #3050)

have a great week, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/21/2007 #

emails have been sent to everyone - I'm getting excited to get this started!

If for ANY reason, you don't think you can commit to this swap (yes, it IS a responsibility), please drop from it before the deadline, or contact me. We all understand rt things can get in the way - and another rr swap will be coming along soon.

have a great week, any questions or concerns, email me or contact me here -

let's have FUN with this! MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 04/22/2007 #

Hi, can I please add to all the above about size. No thicker than 10mm or I have to send as a parcel and the postage goes way up. Some books I have had in the past have been OK but the wire ring binding is the problem. thanks.

gramsbuttonbox 04/23/2007 #

the USA-only RR journal swap (swap #3050) has reached ten swappers and is now closed.

A new swap will be started by this weekend, but I'll wait to see if this one goes any higher first - we are now at 8, which is a very comfortable number, so if you'd like to shut it down and "get the ball rolling" - please post here - and we can get started sooner.

Please NOTE: If I do shut down early, I would also move the mailing deadline ahead - so that there would be TWO WEEKS from then until journals have to be mailed.

Get your journals and start decorating them, right away, so that you can get them sent as soon as partners are assigned.

have a good week, everyone, MaryB

jewels1 04/23/2007 #

Okay, Gram, just one more, I hate a day without a journal to work on!

For those of you who haven't done this before, I am in two of Gram's other journal swaps and having a BLAST, this is like taking an art class from 10 different people, I am so addicted! Thanks Gram!

gramsbuttonbox 04/23/2007 #

welcome!!! it's great to see you (I was wondering how long it would take you! hahaha)- and you are so right - I cannot believe how inspired and FUN these are!

lighthouse 04/24/2007 #

Angel Faery Kathleen, there is no way I could make my journal that flat! :-( We don't have such journals in Poland so I had to make it on my own, and the binding makes it 20 mm thick. I made it rather small and light - to reduce the postage rate which is calculate by weight in most countries. And putting some 3D objects in the journals will make them thicker anyway...

Aggie

jewels1 04/24/2007 #

Angel Faery Kathleen, Not to discourage you from joining, but I think I have to agree with lighthouse, and I just wanted to give you the heads up. I am in two other journal round robins, and a lot of people add 3D embellishments, so even when the journals start out skinny, they end up quite a bit fatter. I just don't want you to get overwhelmed toward the end with postage after several people work on the journals. I hope you will still join us, it's great fun and truly worth the postage, I seriously think of it as buying an art class and the inspiration to go along with it. Jewels

gramsbuttonbox 04/24/2007 #

((and just a "head's up" - we are now at 9 swappers, the deadline is Saturday - if BOTH of you wanted to join, that would be fine - I have another swap like this with 11, and it's comfortable - but please decide by then - the USA-only swap that was going on at the same time reached 10, and I closed it - so would wait until this one is closed to start up another set))

just something to think about - MaryB

lighthouse 04/24/2007 #

MaryB, I don't know who do you mean by "BOTH" :-) Can you explain?? Aggie

gramsbuttonbox 04/24/2007 #

lighthouse - my mistake, I was thinking that Angel Faerie and you were both thinking of joining - duh.....lol me bad....

deadline is Saturday, another USA swap is now open - swap #3417, if anyone in the USA from this swap wants to be a part of that one too -

will also open another int'l version when this one closes, and YES, I'd love to see lots of you "over there" too

MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/24/2007 #

received a great idea from someone in another of these rr's -

the NEXT Int'l version of this swap is going to be possibly "theme centered" - perhaps a line from a song, or a poem, maybe even a color - I'm not sure yet, but if you are interested, let me know, and I'll be sure to get the word out to all of you when it's open - (within a week)

anyway, just a thought, MaryB

ozrob 04/24/2007 #

I'd love to do a colour theme journal!

AngelFaeryKathleen 04/25/2007 #

Hi Lighthouse and Jewels, Yes I know the postage is done by weight as one I posted on last month cost over $15.00 as it was a big heavy book and I was only the 2nd person to work on it. I love doing these AB RR and will not be pulling out. My next book is almost ready to go.

julief 04/27/2007 #

Hey everyone!

I feel like I slipped in under the wire or something, but I'm very happy to be your 10th.

Looking forward to all the journaling. Julie

gramsbuttonbox 04/27/2007 #

Hi julie, and welcome! It's great that you joined us - I'm going to close the swap now at 10 - will assign partners SOON!

everyone - get your journals decorated and ready,

BE SURE to put your own name/address/swap name somewhere clearly visible on the inside front or back cover -

and let's have FUN with this!

MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/27/2007 #

partners have been assigned, and I've messaged everyone, with your "receive from" partner also - you WILL WANT to keep track of that, especially if you are in more than one of these rr swaps.

let's have FUN with it, get your journals ready and sent on time, be SURE to include your own name/address/swap name somewhere clearly visible on your journals, and sign the pages you do for each other.

Enjoy! - this really IS a healthy addiction!

artsy round robin journals~

that's inspirational, just in the writing of it! MaryB

ksj1717 04/27/2007 #

How do we rate each participant?

gramsbuttonbox 04/28/2007 #

about a week after the "mailing deadline" a link will appear in the yellow box, where you can rate your partners. (While you will be working in everyone's journal, the only person you can actually RATE will be the one who is sending to you.)

IMPORTANT - be sure to POST here when you have SENT a journal onward, so that we can keep track of these little beauties as they make the circle.

Sign the pages you do for each other, also.

have a great week, everyone, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/28/2007 #

As you have maybe seen, (and I've done this for all these - there are now SIX RR swaps!) - even after I HAVE sent my journal, I will NOT click the "Sent" button -

I prefer to keep all of these RR swaps at the top of the "My Swaps" page. Clicking on that button will move them to the bottom, and until they are DONE, it's easier for me to keep tabs on these little gems.

I WILL post here in the comments section, that it has been sent, however. Anyone else who prefers to do that, since this will be a longer-running swap, certainly may do so - but DO keep us posted on the journal's progress, with your comments HERE.

Enjoy, and have FUN with this! MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 04/30/2007 #

URGENT message to ALL Int'l RR Journal swappers - -

emails are going out right away - please respond to them immediately - PLEASE

be watching for them, thank you, MaryB

marieke 04/30/2007 #

Hello Mary

I think it's a great idea to assign partners by location and personaly I think the ratingpart can't be a big problem.

Greetings Marieke

lighthouse 05/ 1/2007 #

I emailed you Mary, Aggie.

gramsbuttonbox 05/ 1/2007 #

for now, the vast majority LIKES the list just as it is - so there will be NO change - I will also send emails to that effect - but if it REALLY bothers you to be sending to someone far away, let me know - and you could be bypassed, if you insist.

However, signing up for an international round robin swap, automatically should mean that there will be cases when a swapper will HAVE to send international.

That is why I have kept the group size limited, so that it would hopefully alleviate any MAJOR problems.

And I'm sorry if this has turned into any problem for any of you - but thank you for responding to my email so quickly -

the swap remains the same. MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/ 1/2007 #

I will say this - the NEXT international swap, which will maybe be this summer - I WILL give the option of doing it that way, if that makes anyone feel any better.

I think these have been SO much fun - being the host, I'm automatically signed up for EVERY one of them - which right now is six - - if anyone wants to trade places, let me know! hahaha

just kidding, I'm addicted! MaryB

julief 05/ 1/2007 #

Hey Lyn - I'll be sending my journal out to you tomorrow on my way home from work. It's coming from Michigan, USA so I'm not sure how long it will take.

gramsbuttonbox 05/ 5/2007 #

PLEASE - everyone, as you post here that you have sent a journal onward, please also include WHO'S journal it is - I keep track of each journals' progress, so I like to know where they are "in the process".

thanks for your help, I hope you all have FUN with this!

MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/ 7/2007 #

will be sending my journal off to Jewels tomorrow - Penny, be watching for it, and have fun with it!

hope you are all having fun with this, everyone!
MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/ 7/2007 #

In one of the other RR swaps, someone asked to have the full "circle" posted, so we would all know the route that these little beauties are taking - if you'd like that, let me know -

and if it helps anyone feel more confident, about keeping track of things, that is always a good thing.

MaryB

liniecat 05/ 8/2007 #

Hi Julie,

It arrived today so not bad going across the pond! Its lovely! Loved the narrative lol it will be in the post by the weekend. Am itching to put something on the cover lol hadnt thought about leaving the cover for others to artsy up for me...........many thanks xx Lyn

lighthouse 05/ 9/2007 #

Kimberly, your journal just arrived here :) It's really lovely! I'm so excited to start working on it - it's my first time too!

Unfortunately I've been sick and staying in bed for couple of days and haven't sent mine yet! So I will send two journals (Kimberly's and mine) to Marieke at once.

gramsbuttonbox 05/ 9/2007 #

and lighthouse, sending two together is a great idea, and will probably keep those two together thru the circle - it's easier for everyone that way also.

I sure hope you are feeling better soon - it's sure no fun being sick, so I hope that the inspiration that comes your way via others' journals will help brighten your day.

hands you a cookie MaryB

liniecat 05/ 9/2007 #

Julie I am posting your journal off to Gram in the morning. I enjoyed it so much! This could get to be infectious!!! But I couldnt juggle sveral at once, I would end up sending them to the wrong people!!! I am still working on mine, had a crisis change of theme which threw me! Hope it will be in the post before my op on monday, will keep you informed though.

julief 05/ 9/2007 #

sweet, Lyn - you are crazy speedy!

marieke 05/ 9/2007 #

lighthouse it's fine with me if you sent kimberly's and your journal together. And I want to make a BIG COMPLIMENT to Gram's (MaryB). I think she's doining an amazing job with coordinating all these different round robins.

lighthouse 05/10/2007 #

MaryB - thank you for support sweetheart :-) receiving the first journal made me better immediately! I'm so excited about it. And I second Marieke that you do wonderful job with this project.

Marieke - so good to know that it won't be a problem for you :-) I'll keep informing you.

gramsbuttonbox 05/10/2007 #

thanks, guys, it's YOU who make the swaps amazing - everyone does such a fabulous job of posting, and keeping us informed - so we all feel confident and good about sending our little beauties "out there" -

have a wonderful, FUN weekend - MaryB

wildcargo 05/10/2007 #

Julie, my journal is on it's way to you- have fun. I'm guessing that there might be a little bit of a delay in the next one since they are coming from New Zealand to Minnesota. We'll see.

gramsbuttonbox 05/10/2007 #

For those of us in the US, postal rates are going UP Monday, the 14th - also Saturday the 12th is the mailing deadline to get your own journal sent on its way -

SOOOOO...a double hint, if you are in the US and haven't sent yours off yet - get those journals in the MAIL by Saturday, or you will be caught with the increase on Monday.

Have a good weekend, MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 05/10/2007 #

Hi wildcargo, My book to you is being posted today, Friday in New Zealand so keep and eye out in 7 to 10 days. Have fun with it, thanks :-)))

liniecat 05/10/2007 #

Julies went off this morning to you Mary B and my own should be in the post tomorrow, if the page has dried by then! <<<<<<<<< am sure it will have by then! I'm completely hooked on this round robin lark!

julief 05/11/2007 #

Jennifer, your journal arrived this morning (that was fast!). WOW! It's so beautiful - I'm going to have to think of something really good to do it justice. I'll let you know when I send it off. Take care!

gramsbuttonbox 05/11/2007 #

As I've alluded to, sometime perhaps mid-summer, there will be a "Hand-made" journal swap, like these - and I've just seen some gorgeous TINY journals - like 3"x5" (index card size), up to maybe 4" x 6" - for an international version, that just might be perfect - toss the idea around in your heads a little bit, and let me know what you think....

I think it would be FUN - and would be SO easy to mail them!

MaryB

marieke 05/12/2007 #

I couldn't find the perfect journal for this round robin, so last week I decided to make my own journal out of index card. I don't know the size in inches but not to big and not to small. To me the size is just perfect. We were thinking the same Mary.

P.S. I hope everybody understands my english, it's a little hard to write for me.

liniecat 05/12/2007 #

Marieke your english is great and your journal is just superb! Love the paint chips idea!!!! I received two and both are so different so will be thinking laterally to ensure I do them justice! Im going to post them off individually to Mary and will let you know when the first one is on its way. Am in hospital, only overnight, next monday, so may be 3/4 days behind, depends on the pain and if I dont entangle myself with the crutch I will need for the first week! Will keep you all posted though. Like the sound of the small sized book.......maybe 4/5" even? but atc-ish sized might be fun! :) Lyn

gramsbuttonbox 05/12/2007 #

oh linie - all of our good wishes are sent your way for a quick and easy recovery - I had no idea you were in the hospital, and there is NO ONE here who would expect you to hurry or WORRY! - (I'm "between" journals at the moment, so yes, I'm eager for one) - but you take care of yourself first and foremost - -

can hardly wait to see yours', marieke, when I first saw those tiny little books, I just fell in love with them - and as I said, it would be SO easy to put them in the mail - so I can hardly wait!

have a good weekend, everyone, I hope you have not been hit by some of the bad weather that we've had of late (that's ENUF rain already!) warm hugs, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/12/2007 #

Please everyone - post some pics of the journals, and the pages you do - (you can hold off posting the pages, til closer til the end if you want to save the "surprise") -

Just click the "Upload image" link in the yellow box and follow the directions -

(I do not have a digital camera, so if you want to, can post pics of mine, but you will all see it anyway, so there is no REAL need) - also I'm VERY "digitally challenged" - I do not even have a cell phone! -

I'm still struggling to get shoved into the 21th century (hey, it's only been SEVEN years!) MaryB

marieke 05/12/2007 #

I was so curious to find out the size of the journal I made so I measure it and guess what? It's 4" x 6" and I love this size. I think it's indeed easy to sent around the world.

AngelFaeryKathleen 05/12/2007 #

Hi marieke, I agree with you about the size and hand made, for the first round robin I'm in on swap-bot I made a deco rather than use a brought book as it can be opened out flat for posting and then not being so fat will go as a letter untill it gets tooooo many emballishments. From memory (it went away in November) it is about your size, and last year I took part in a Deco round robin within New Zealand and they all where that same size, and it is a great size to work in:-)))

gramsbuttonbox 05/13/2007 #

yes, that is a delightful size - and really easy to work in and add to as well - good things to keep in mind and think about, that's for sure...

thanks for your comments,

and just so everyone knows, every person who is signed up for ANY of these round robins will be emailed when I am about to do this - as I said, it will be sometime mid-late summer.

enjoy, MaryB

jewels1 05/14/2007 #

The journal I decided to send for this round robin is one I made out of brown paper lunch bags, I wanted to try to do something different. I can't wait to see how it turns out! They are folded in half, so on the pages you can decorate between the inside of the bags, or cut them to make flaps or pockets. Hope you're all up for the challenge!

jewels1 05/14/2007 #

Check out my journal in the gallery, I posted some pictures, also one of the package Kim should be expecting in the mail!

julief 05/14/2007 #

Jewels, your journal is awesome! I had no idea that paper lunch bags could be turned into such art.

I posted Jennifer's journal to Lyn this morning. Sadly, I forgot to take a picture of the page I worked on before wrapping it up - so if anyone thinks of it and wouldn't mind taking a picture, I'd appreciate it.

Lyn - Hope you feel better!

jewels1 05/14/2007 #

Grrr! I got three pictures in the gallery and it wouldn't let me post a fourth, I tried three times, so Kim, there isn't a picture of the package. Oh well, guess you'll see it when it hits your mailbox!

jewels1 05/14/2007 #

Just a note to remember when you work on my brown bag journal, it's pretty "fat and fluffy" but if you tie some ribbon or yarn around it before you mail it and pull it tight, it squishes right down to a normal size, it's full of air pockets, I guess, lol.

lighthouse 05/14/2007 #

Jewels, I love your journal :D It's great! And my fingers look the same - paint and ink, I don't know how people can use fountain pens and don't get dirty... :)

gramsbuttonbox 05/15/2007 #

received Julie's journal today - LOVE it - it's SO adorable and what FUN ideas you had linie - can't wait to add my humble additions as well - I'll get this on its way soon - can't wait to get yours also linie, if it gets here in the next day or so, I can send them together -

and I love the paper bag book, Jewels,

  • and I have to say, everyone - being in these round robins, I have discovered things that I am now passionate about learning and doing, that I didn't even KNOW about two months ago!

thank you SO much! MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/15/2007 #

marieke - For NOW, until and unless I hear otherwise, please do NOT send to Dreamer (cassie farmer) - I have not gotten any response, nor has she ever posted to this board - I'll give it another 24 hours, then we will just bypass her unless she posts something.

She is signed up for a LOT of swaps - this really is too bad, but I just need to hear SOMETHING so I can know what to do here!

her ratings have also dropped to a 3.8! She lives in Pennsylvania, so if necessary, I'll CALL her.

MaryB

jewels1 05/15/2007 #

Mary, I got your journal today! Yay! I can't wait to work in it!

suzylucie 05/15/2007 #

Hi Everyone! I'm Susan (suzylucie). I have started a flickr group for the round robin journal swaps. This is not a requirement but an additional resource you can utilize if you want. We will have discussions, inspirations, lots of photos of the art in progress. I hope you all will join. Flickr is free and easy to learn and use, if I can do it, anyone can! Go to http://www.flickr.com/groups/roundrobinjournals/ or do a search in groups for round robin journals.Hope to see you there!

gramsbuttonbox 05/15/2007 #

that's great Jewels, I will be sending Julie Faust's to you in a couple days - it came today, so I've been enjoying and absorbing the beauty of it for awhile - (it came from linie)

(I also got the one you sent me from swap 2766) - thanks

have a great week, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/15/2007 #

Thanks Susan,

yes, come and join us "over there" - lots of beautiful pictures should show up, I hope that EVERY one of these swaps comes thru, with lots of us being a part of the group.

enjoy, MaryB

marieke 05/16/2007 #

Oke MaryB I will not sent my journal to dreamer. I was going to do that today, so I just notice your email on time. The only problem is that monday is the first day I'm able to go to the postoffice again. I hope it isn't a big problem? Please let me know. And thanks for making sure everybody is "safe" in these swaps I mean no flakers. You doing a great job.

julief 05/16/2007 #

MaryB, you're such an awesome coordinator. Thanks for going to all this trouble. Marieke and I are in another RR swap and it isn't going nearly as smoothly as this one.

AngelFaeryKathleen 05/16/2007 #

Hi Marieke, I am to recieve from Dreamer and so far nothing! Gram's BB and I have been "talking".

gramsbuttonbox 05/16/2007 #

Hi everyone, (thanks marieke, I hoped I might "catch you" before you sent to her)

I really do hate to do something like this, but I also have a responsibility to the rest of you - and you have been SO wonderful -

yes, we all deal with rt things, once in a while, and yes, those things sometime even throw us for a curve - but communication is the key - we ALL understand how complicated life can get...

I did try calling "Dreamer" even, but there is either no phone, or it's unlisted - have also emailed and messaged her, but no answer - I will wait (no more than) two more days - if nobody hears from her, then yes, we are going to have to bypass her -

that would mean that marieke would send directly to Angel Faery -

YOU are the people who make these swaps so awesome - I am constantly honored and thrilled to find myself surrounded by such wonderful, kind, gentle, loving, funny, talented, awesome FRIENDS! I keep hoping some of it rubs off!

I'll be in touch with you two in the next day or so - if ANYONE hears from DREAMER - (Cassie F - Pennsylvania) - let me know, or post it here - I will be checking.

Hugs, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/16/2007 #

linie - received your beautiful journal today - so will get on it, and get yours and Julie's sent off to Jewels in the next couple days.

have a good week, everyone MaryB

also, marieke, you will be able to send your journal by Monday, so there is no worry - a decision will be made before the weekend. MB

lighthouse 05/17/2007 #

Marieke, 2 journals are on their way to you - Kimebrly's (kandm17) and mine, I sent them by registered priority. Have fun with them :-)

marieke 05/17/2007 #

Thanks lighthouse, I will let you know as soon as I have got them. Love your journal by the way.

ksj1717 05/17/2007 #

I received Jewel's journal today. I will get started on it and let you know when I send it out. Neat idea with the lunch sacks by the way!

gramsbuttonbox 05/18/2007 #

this is MOSTLY for marieke and Angel Faery, but it does concern every one in this swap.

marieke, you will SEND to Angel Faery Kathleen, (I will message you her address)

As I said earlier, I do not like to do this, but I will not just sit by and cause the rest of you to have a bad experience.

Angel Faery, I will also message you, be watching for it.

thanks everyone, this is STILL a great swap! and you ARE awesome!

enjoy the weekend, MaryB

marieke 05/19/2007 #

Oke I understand monday I will sent my journal to Angel Faery Kathleen. Thanks.

AngelFaeryKathleen 05/19/2007 #

Hi Marieke and Gram's BB, thanks for everything, I will keep an eye out in about 7 to 10 days after Monday for your book Marieke. I'm gessing from your name it is comming from Holland or is it the Netherlands? Hugs :-)

gramsbuttonbox 05/19/2007 #

according to my calculations, we are right "on track" -

it is possible that you have not received your first journal from your partner yet, but they are "on the move" -

please remember to RATE your partners, everyone - I know we are all working in everyone's journal, but only have the chance to rate the person who sends to us - I think that it's a great opportunity to give a heart if your partner has been diligent about posting to the comments, and doing their part to keep us all informed.

have a good week, everyone, and have FUN with these little gems that will be coming your way! MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/19/2007 #

ALSO - if you have not done so yet, please consider being a part of the flickr "Round Robin" group - every one from ALL of these rr's are invited, so come and see some of the pictures from some of the other rr's going on, also.

And yes, please post some pics HERE, also - there is a link in the yellow box that says "Upload image" - to post your pic, and at the top of the grey box, just below the title, is another link "Launch slideshow" to SEE what's there.

have FUN with it, these pics are such an inspiration -

"artsy round robin journals" - gosh, I'm really lovin' it! MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/20/2007 #

WOW - I just see that there is a new link in the yellow box - seems we can rate partners immediately, when they are assigned - and I guess that you can also now rate hosts - that is cool -

have a good week everyone, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/20/2007 #

Jewels - TWO journals heading your way in tomorrow's (monday) mail - Julie Faust and linie - they both fit perfectly into one box, so be watching for it - they are coming Priority, but I won't have the del.conf.# til Tuesday (mailman picks up Monday, and will bring back the receipt, etc, Tues) - I'll post it then.

jewels1 05/21/2007 #

Can't wait! I'm sending a few out today, but not sure which round robins they're from until I do some investigating, so I'll post later tonight.

wildcargo 05/21/2007 #

AF Kathleen- got your journal today and will be sending it out to Julie very soon. Then I'm guessing there will be a little delay while the glitch with the person before you is figured out. I think I found a good quote from DP.

liniecat 05/21/2007 #

Gram you are a marvel woman! Thank you so much for all this logistocal organisation. Jewels and Lighthouse I love your ideas in your galler pics. Just brilliant! I am awaiting the postman calling, poor guy looks at me sideways and scared, am sure he thinks Im going to drag him indoors...when its REALLY only the mail I want!! :)

AngelFaeryKathleen 05/21/2007 #

wildcargo, Happy my book arrived OK.

gramsbuttonbox 05/21/2007 #

Dreamer has posted - but to the WRONG swap - for some reason, she may have been confused, since some of you are also in that swap - I think she thinks she is in swap #2788.

IF marieke has already SENT to Angel Faery in this swap, that is fine, Dreamer would just miss THAT one (or two, depending on how many you were sending) - and yes, we could NOW get "back on track" -

she has been in the hospital, and I really would like it if she can be a part of this group - bringing a smile into her day, as she recovers -

Angel Faery, since you are the person she would be sending to, (and since you and marieke are both in the other swap also) - if she DOES send her journal to you, even thinking it belongs to THAT swap, please re-direct it back here, and send it to your partner HERE - wildcargo, rather than your partner THERE (me) -

I sure hope that made some sense. I know how exhausting it can be to be recovering from a hospital stay, but I think this can go smoothly. If you have any questions, let me know - we just have to get her "over here" - and get her to start posting to THIS swap.

think gentle thoughts, dear friends, MaryB

user6953 05/21/2007 #

Sorry I posted to the wrong one. I live really I do! I shall be sending today! Should be there soon <3 Sorry for the delay

user6953 05/21/2007 #

I forgot to explain why I was m.i.a I was sick in the hospital. Sorry

gramsbuttonbox 05/21/2007 #

I'm actually still learning the best way to "do these" round robins - and since some have expressed interest in some of the other swaps to know where their "little ones" are, and heading, here it is -

our "Journal's Journeys"

Jewels - (Penny - Pennsylvania) -
kandm17 - (Kimberly - Tennessee) -
lighthouse - (Agnieszka - Poland) -
marieke - (Marieke - The Netherlands) -
Dreamer - (Cassie - Pennsylvania) -
Angel Faery - (Kathleen - New Zealand) -
wildcargo - (Jennifer - Minnesota) -
julie faust (Julie - Michigan) -
linie - (Lyn - England) -
me - (Mary - South Dakota) - (and I send to Jewels)

So just find yourself (sounds like zen) - and travel DOWN the list, to come back to your name -

I was certainly NOT intending to keep anything from you, especially if it helps you feel more comfortable or confident about sending your beauties "out in the world" -

have FUN with it, and yes, you certainly can keep track of each one's journey this way, to know who and how many YOURS will travel to before coming HOME again -

hugs to you all, MaryB

lighthouse 05/22/2007 #

Cassie, good to have you back here, I hope you'll be better soon :-)

Linie, thank you for this lovely comment! Any kind of encouragement is so much appreciated... it's the first time ever I make something like this, and it was like jumping in the abbyss for me (I'm so shy and secretive)- but I'm soooo happy that I did!

Now I'm waiting for the next journal to arrive. Thank you Mary for keeping us informed :-)

liniecat 05/22/2007 #

Welcome back Cassie! Hope you will feel well soon and sorry you have got lost en route lol ! If you get your book back without one of us in it by the end, send it to whichever is missing and Im sure we'll put our 'twopenneth in' for you, as my Gran used to say! Nice to see you :)

Julie, Jenns journal arrived this morning and its looking lovely, love your fortune cookie-ish bits!!! These journals are like passports with our personality 'stamps' in them, rather than just our countries 'stamps' lolol Lighthouse stop 'hiding your light under a bushel'(another thing my Gran said lol)you have flair and need not be shy with us! We have alot of Polish folk working now here in Hull infact my cousin married a Polish lass last year. Her family were such good fun at the wedding, singing her songs and encouraged us all to drink their Polish vodka in (several!!) traditional toasts! My throat stung for hours after but funny enough I was virus free all winter!!!! ( too polite to refuse anything alcoholic me...........:) )

ksj1717 05/22/2007 #

I mailed Jewel's journal onward to lighthouse yesterday. It was fun...I hope you like it.

ksj1717 05/22/2007 #

Reading through, I realized I'm not the only Journal Newbie here. Please tell me who's a pro and who's a newbie. I'm sure everyone else worries like me that they will not be up to the standards of "experienced artists", but I think it's really about having fun, creating, and interacting with others. Thanks for letting me share this experience with you guys!...Thanks Gram for hosting.

marieke 05/23/2007 #

I totally agree with you Kandm17, The most imporant thing is to have fun and create. I'm also a newbie to journal swapping, at the moment I'm in three journal swap here on swapbot, it's lots of fun. I like to receive a journal and see what other people have make, I find it very inspiring. And imagen at the end receiving your own journal back and see al the beautiful pages people made for you that must be so much fun. And the best part.....You don't have to sent it out again, it's all yours. LOL.

marieke 05/23/2007 #

MaryB has this weird thing about "catching me" just before I go to the post office so Yesterday I have sent my journal to Dreamer.

liniecat 05/23/2007 #

Creative telepathy maybe Marieke? lolol These are my two first ever journal swaps too KandiM ( Grams that is) so like you I worry that maybe 'my' interpretation of a journal page for someone else, may not upto standard. But having said that, any of us creates differently each day/hour etc so what we put in one journal is different to what we put in another, on another day? Does that make sense ?!!! ( well it did to me!)Infact Ive been inspired by whats been in each I have received, by its character at the time it arrived you know? So any preconceived notions Id had, have gone out the window and the 'muse' has taken over. Shame I cant have that creative touch with my Bank Manager.............hmmmmmm

gramsbuttonbox 05/23/2007 #

Jewels - del conf # 0307 0020 0004 1268 9040 - 2 journals - julie faust and linie's - (package went out Monday, but I didn't get a chance to post this til today - it'll be there SOON) enjoy, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 05/23/2007 #

will just comment on this beautiful "creativity" thread - I know (and I'm sure I speak for many) -

I am so excited and eager to see what each person's individuality brings forth - and as for the "artisticness" (new word), I honestly do not care, and certainly would never "judge" -

I know that for my OWN artistic "ability" (questionable as it may be) - sometimes the best I can do is to be encouraging and empowering and FUN - I'm still learning the "art" parts of this myself!

if ANY THING I can add to a journal might bring a smile to some one, then I have to trust that it's all good!

PLEASE do not be hard on yourselves - this is FUN - this is inspiring, and best of all, this is a WONDERFUL circle of great friends, creating!

have a great week, everyone, these little beauties are on the move! MaryB

jewels1 05/23/2007 #

I recieved Julie's and Linie's journals today, both are amazing, I can't wait to add my two cents worth!

user6953 05/24/2007 #

I sent yesterday you should expect soon ^_^

liniecat 05/24/2007 #

Gram your so right, we seem to have a smashing little circle of firends here....oops...... friends even! .....lol .... we the 'Circle of Journalling Firends' eh? lolol We each will bring a shade of ourselves to another. As Wallace would say to Grommit........cracking!

lighthouse 05/24/2007 #

OMG Linie!!! I LOVE Wallace and Grommit :D

gramsbuttonbox 05/24/2007 #

please - any and ALL of you - come to the flickr site - there is some great conversation going on there, as well as getting to see the pics for ALL these round robins -

It'd be so much fun to have ALL the journals from all these RR's show up there - what an inspiration and beautiful FUN that would be!

hope to see you "over there" and have a great week, everyone, MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 05/24/2007 #

Hi Dreamer, depending on how it is traviling -air or sea- it will take 7 to 10 days by air, 3 months by sea. So happy you are back in the loop and that you are on the mend. I'm looking faward to working on your book. Hugs :-)

gramsbuttonbox 05/24/2007 #

PLEASE NOTE - I will be offline until Tuesday or Wednesday - please do not worry, but I will not be able to post anything until I return.

Also, there is no mail service Monday (in the US), with the holiday, so please do not be concerned if you are "in between" - or do not hear anything for a few days.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend, everyone, MaryB

liniecat 05/25/2007 #

Lighthouse I worry about myself, as I get older and having been on my own for so long, Wallace looks pretty good to me lololol sighhhhhhhhhhhhh

jewels1 05/25/2007 #

Hmmmm . . . Wallace and Linie . . . . nope, just doesn't sound the same . . .

liniecat 05/26/2007 #

Your right of course, it doesnt have the same ring does it? lolol and with my luck Wallace would be too picky, despite my liking Wenslydale cheese!

user6953 05/26/2007 #

let me kmow when you get it

liniecat 05/29/2007 #

Jenns journal in post now to Gram ........enjoyyyyyyyyy :) xx

lighthouse 05/29/2007 #

JEWEL'S JOURNAL IS HERE! :) :) :)

Yaaaaayyyyyyyyy..... I won't sleep tonight, I'm going to start working on it...!!!!

Aggie

gramsbuttonbox 05/29/2007 #

(((note))) - deleted Angel Faery's post saying she was sending me linie's journal - that's for a different swap, and I didn't want to confuse anyone.

Sorry Kathleen, I'll still be watching for it, even tho it's not on this swap - smile

enjoy, MaryB

((I'm not really "back" but have my laptop here, with me - my son brought it, but I can't keep up right now - I'll be back either tomorrow or Thursday - please bear with me, gang))

hugs to you all!

jewels1 05/29/2007 #

Wow, my journal is in POLAND, how cool is that? I feel like a world traveler!

wildcargo 05/30/2007 #

Hey Kathleen your journal is on it's way to Julie

gramsbuttonbox 05/30/2007 #

I'm back - thanks to everyone who sent 'well-wishes' - and yes I was in the hospital a few days - but am back "on track" now -

I'll just "stop by for some tea and get caught up" - ((coulda added a shameless plug here, for my own flickr group, but maybe you'll find it anyway, hahaha))

And I really DO apologize if I've created any bottlenecks, but hopefully, with the holiday weekend, things are back in motion again.

have a great week, everyone if you haven't yet, go and check out the flickr site for Round Robin Journals - all I can say is WOW -

just LOOK at those pictures - every round robin swap I've hosted has been invited "over there" - and just for the inspirations and the oooohs and aaaaahs, it's really wonderful!

MaryB

liniecat 05/30/2007 #

Soz Gram didnt realise you were hospitalling too? Hope you are okay now? xxx

gramsbuttonbox 05/30/2007 #

~hugs~ thanks linie, I'm doing okay now - feeling a little weak, but having a couple journals to work on, that arrived over the weekend, really are cheering me up!

I really love being a part of these round robin groups, everyone is SO fabulous!

have a great week everyone, MaryB

julief 06/ 1/2007 #

Kathleen, got your journal today and I'm looking forward to adding to it. Jennifer's additions to it are AMAZING.

ksj1717 06/ 1/2007 #

I know that you said not to worry about delayed journals since we had a postal holiday, but I'm getting anxious to work on the next one!! When's it coming, when's it coming...?

Gram, I don't know where to go to find your postings on Flickr. Can you help me out here?

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 1/2007 #

Thanks to a wonderful suggestion (and I had not even thought of doing this) - to avoid receiving all the "swap reminders for these round robins, I am moving the 'mail to' deadline date ahead -

this will not change anything in the swap, and it will not "open" it again, so no new people can slip in - but hopefully it will cut down on all those reminders coming into our inboxes.

(thanks to jakfrostwife) MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 1/2007 #

kheli - the flickr site for the round robin journals can be found at

http://www.flickr.com/groups/roundrobinjournals/

the one that I started is called "My Crafting Room" - and it can be found at

http://www.flickr.com/groups/mycraftingroom/

hope to see you "over there" -

and every one else too! MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 2/2007 #

received wildcargo's journal today from linie - will try to get it worked on and sent off by Tuesday.

have a good weekend, everyone, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 2/2007 #

Just a reminder request - everyone - - please - when you post that you've received/sent a journal, PLEASE tell me WHOSE journal it is -

it's also very helpful if you post WHO you received it from - especially if you are in more than one of these rr's.

I do try to keep track, and it does not help me much to just know that you've sent off two journals, if I have no idea who they belong to.

Your help is so appreciated, thanks, MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 06/ 2/2007 #

Hi Julie Faust, thanks for letting me know where my D.P. book is. They are like our children and we feel good when we know where they are, even if they are having a party.

Hugs to all you wonderful people weather new to altered books or old hands at it, not matter what you do you have spent time and muse on our books/babies and I for one love seening all that time and effort put into my little books.

Thank you and Hugs to all :-))))))))))

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 4/2007 #

thank you to those who have responded here or answered my email SO quickly - As many of you know, there are SIX of these round robins going - (If you have not answered the email, or posted here, please do so as soon as possible - thnx)

there are only a few people I have not heard from yet, but I do know where most of the journals are in ALL the swaps - there are several cases of "more than one journal" at one swapper's place - and that is true for one of these round robins.

I myself, have TWO journals, in two different swaps, and will be sending them off Tuesday - there are also (at least!) THREE cases of swappers who have FOUR or MORE journals right now - so these little gems ARE on the move - and lots of them are "same swap, travelling together" journals!

and yes, that means that you MAY be getting a truck load - so if you are "without" at the moment, enjoy the reprieve - it won't last long! hahaha

please be patient, do NOT give up, our journals ARE on the move!

Have a great week, everyone, MaryB

marieke 06/ 4/2007 #

Hello

I have been quiet for some time but we had some problems with our internet connection, now everything is oke and I'm online again whoohoo. Today I went to the postoffice to pick up the envelop lighthouse sent me. I now have her journal and kimberly's journal at home, I will work in them tonight and tomorrow. Agnieszka (lighthouse) thanks so much for the hot chocolade milk and I LOVE your journal it's stunning.

lighthouse 06/ 4/2007 #

Hi Marieke, good to have you on-line again. Enjoy the hot chocolate! Thanks for the compliments about the journal, I can't wait to get yours :-)

And....BIG NEWS EVERYBODY!!! About two weeks ago I showed Kimberly's and my journals (only my pages, because I didn't know if she would mind showing hers) on the Polish forum about arts and crafts. Today they were voted "THE ART OF THE MONTH" :-) Everybody loved the concept of travelling journals! And I'm asked to show more of them! Congratulations everybody and specially Mary, for organizing this swap and takig care of all these travelling parts of The Art of The Month ;-)

So I'd like to ask you - may I show the pictures of your journals and pages you've made on this Polish forum? Of course I will give all the credits to the author and all personal info won't be visible.

Hugs, Aggie

ksj1717 06/ 4/2007 #

Congratulations Aggie! That's awesome stuff! You can show my work anytime you'd like. It's Art, so it should be displayed. I don't expect everyone to like it, but I'm okay with that. Thanks.

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 5/2007 #

WOW Aggie!! - that is fabulous - please be sure to post that info to the flickr group also, since the OTHER rr swaps can then see it -

what a fabulous little pat on the back for our superb group! You are all so wonderful!

and you can sure post any pics of mine, MaryB

liniecat 06/ 5/2007 #

How lovely that the Polish group are interested too.....yes by all means show mine as and when....lets hope some of them come on board too later?

AngelFaeryKathleen 06/ 5/2007 #

Hi there Lighthouse, you are welcome to show my book to whoever you get the urg to. Like Kadm17 I feel art should be displayed to all. Hugs Angel Faery Kathleen :-)

julief 06/ 5/2007 #

Agreed - to everything that everyone has said. You can show mine, too!

user6953 06/ 6/2007 #

I've got marieke journal, I will be decorating it tomorrow (my day off from work) and sending it off ^_^

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 6/2007 #

sent wildcargo's journal to Jewels today - enjoy it! MaryB

liniecat 06/ 7/2007 #

How come the join up by date on this swap reads november 1999..........just noticed it! Its been going a lonnnng time??????!

julief 06/ 8/2007 #

linie - kathleen's journal is on it's way to you!

gramsbuttonbox 06/ 8/2007 #

linie - and everyone else - I moved the mailing deadline ahead to stop the "reminder emails" that would come, for anyone who, like me, does NOT click the Sent button - for some reason, when I updated THAT date, it also changed the other - but that means that this swap should be near the very top of you Current Swaps page -

that's a good thing, easier to keep track of it then - but you are right, it LOOKS really strange - either we are real slow, or we know each other really well by now! hahaha

have a great weekend, everyone, MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 06/ 8/2007 #

Hi Mary B, We know each other really well, just like old friends should. I have mine in the sent and the change of dates also keeps it at the top. Hugs to all my friends Angel Faery Kathleen :-)

ksj1717 06/ 8/2007 #

Yay...I received two circle journals from Jewels today. Just in time for the weekend. They are Mary B's and Lyn L's books. I can't wait to get started! :) Kimberly

lighthouse 06/ 9/2007 #

Marieke, I sent you Jewel's journal. I was in such a hurry that I didn't enclosed any note... but have fun with this :) Aggie

jewels1 06/ 9/2007 #

How cool, Aggie! You can show my journal or any pages I did, go for it!

liniecat 06/10/2007 #

I taxied over to the East Yorkshire Embroidery group I belong to yesterday and the talk was inspirational, youd have all loved it. The woman speaker was Francis Pickering, her website which I havent looked at yet myself, must have some of her work on it.....STUNNING is the word.....journals are her THING. She uses acrylic wax a great deal...........and I have bought some to use now too......as a sealant or as base cover for pages. So ideal as a backing agent on pages that are flimsy for example and especially if you stitch thrpough and into them as she does. She reminded me of Brens drawing style, but her width of ideas wasa inspirational......she had done some wonderful journals on the War Poets, with pages all burnt thru to resemble bullet holes? So clever, yet only a soldering iron, used to effect. She also uses mainly pelmet strenthener for pages.I do often use that myself, like she does, dyed randomly but whereas I use paints and fabric dyes, she uses transfer (powder) dyes. She had dyed and overdyed one pice of pelmet (vylene is it called?) so it looked like leather. Then she put 3 thinnish coats of acrylic wax on it, letting each coat dry in between. The she incised it over and over, in a cross hatch manner. Once dry she wrung it up like a dishcloth so it creased a little and blow me, if it didnt both look and FEEL like very old leather! I am so wired up now.............bring on the journals !!!! www.frannyp.co.uk...... right will go look now so hope there are samples for you to see!

liniecat 06/11/2007 #

oooh do look at the site.......sheer bliss!

gramsbuttonbox 06/11/2007 #

I'm so thrilled to see that the journals are moving so beautifully - you guys are really super - I have three at the moment, but not for this swap -

have a great week, everyone MaryB

jewels1 06/13/2007 #

I received Wildcargo's journal from Mary, can't wait to get started! It was so fun to look through, great pages!

wildcargo 06/13/2007 #

Hello Angel Faery KAthleen- any journals ready to send off yet? I'm going into severe journal withdrawal :)

AngelFaeryKathleen 06/13/2007 #

Hi Wildcargo, sorry no journals have arrived in New Zealand as yet for this group. I will post as soon as they do.

marieke 06/13/2007 #

Yesterday I have sent lighthouses journal to dreamer. Dreamer have you had sent my journal to the next person, I like to travel together with my journal in my mind (LOL). Kimberly's journal is almost ready, it's drying at the moment, I will sent it out as soon as possible.

Aggie (lighthouse) thanks for letting me know that Jewel's journal is on it's way to me. Don't worry about the note. And you can show my pages to the polish art forum if you like the.

Have fun creating everybody. Don't you just love these round robins? Before I forget anybody feel free to post my pages to the photosection and/ or flick, my scanner isn't working have to try to fix it this weekend.

have to agree here - this is just a super addiction - I have to agree with something Jewels told me - when I see a package in my mail, I can't even wait to get it HOME - have to open it right there at the mailbox!

have a wonderful weekend, everyone, hugs, MaryB

ksj1717 06/14/2007 #

Ha! I get back in my car and tear open the envelope (group mailbox at the apartments). My kids are in the back going "come on mom, let's go!".

liniecat 06/16/2007 #

Actually even my 22 year old daughter is keen to see these journals as they arrive.........and I have a journal now, (well 2 actually cos I had 2 parcels lol) arrive today.......waheyyyyyy!!!!!! Julie, Kathleens wonderful book arrived safe and well this morning, saturday......what a challenge! How exciting! Are we leaving a space of two pages for a reason do you know? Is that for someone else to use, Dreamer was late in one of the swaps, was it this one? Can I use those pages or not? Stop listening Kathleen! :)

julief 06/16/2007 #

linie, i wasn't sure about the two-page space. i dont think that it was there for any special reason. i think they're definitely up for grabs.

liniecat 06/17/2007 #

Thanks Julie, seems a shame to leave it empty lol :)

gramsbuttonbox 06/18/2007 #

I have to agree - might be that pages stuck together, or someone didn't know that they were even blank - I'd say go ahead - I know I'd like my own back, filled - even if "out of slight order"

have fun with it, MaryB

liniecat 06/18/2007 #

Mary, I will be posting Kathleens book to you tomorrow, tuesday. Think I have got the right order of posting which, to whom this time lol I have infact left the blank page, then the order of passage en route was preserved? So those of you after me can decide what to do with it lolol Considering I did a degree, and chose subjects heavily laced with feminism (in my mid 40s), I had never heard of Dorothy Parker! I must have skipped those pages of The Second Sex!!! Now Im transfixed! She would have been my kind of woman! This journal was just great to get stuck into! Thanks Kathleen!

ksj1717 06/18/2007 #

Just to let you all know, I will be away from my computer for four days out of town on business.
Thanks, Kimberly

lighthouse 06/20/2007 #

I just got Lyn's (linie) and Mary B's (Gram's button) journals from Kim (Kandm17)! Oh my....truly beautiful... :)))) You all keep me SO INSPIRED!

ksj1717 06/20/2007 #

The business trip was cancelled.

gramsbuttonbox 06/20/2007 #

Kimberly, I hope that isn't bad news - but great to still have you with US -

linie, I'll be watching for it - thanks for letting me know -

and lighthouse, it's always so great to know where our own are "in the journey" -

Enjoy your weeks, everyone, MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 06/20/2007 #

Hi Linie, I'n so glad I have been able to add to your pleasure of women. I fell in love with Dorothy P quite a while ago quite by accident when looking for the right quote to use on an ATC :-)

gramsbuttonbox 06/22/2007 #

Hope all of you are having a good week - enjoy the weekend, everyone, it'sgetting HOT here!

hugs to you all! MaryB

user6953 06/24/2007 #

I got Lighthouses journal^_^. Have you recieved mine yet? Im a tid bit worried about it? I scanned through the posts and don't see it mentioned about recieving. I will look through again.

marieke 06/24/2007 #

I have been away for a few days, but just to let everybody know last week I have sent Kim's (Kandm17) journal to dreamer. Tomorrow I go to the postoffice to pick up a journal lighthouse sent me I think it's jewels journal.

wildcargo 06/25/2007 #

Hey can we do a "ping" where all of the journals are currently. I've only recieved one so far and I was wondering where the slow point in the loop is in this group (this is usually a mail issue not a person issue).

Thanks and I look forward to seeing everyone's work-

liniecat 06/25/2007 #

Im without too at the moment but eager!

gramsbuttonbox 06/25/2007 #

Received Angel Faery's journal - (that makes SIX altogether with all the swaps going right now) - that's the only one for THIS swap - it's beautiful! And I'm having SO much fun with them all.

Had a family funeral today, so am a bit behind, will try VERY hard to get them all in the mail tomorrow or the next day -

I know it's hard waiting, everyone, but I know in some of the other swaps, there are FOUR or even FIVE travelling together - if you are without at the moment, enjoy the reprieve, it probably will not last long!

have a good week, everyone - MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 06/25/2007 #

that IS a good idea, by the way - - everyone - please post here if you have a journal, whose it is - - if you have recently SENT a journal, remind us please,

thanks, everyone, MaryB

ksj1717 06/26/2007 #

I'm holding onto Julie Faust's journal. It's the only one I have.

lighthouse 06/26/2007 #

I have Gram's button box's and linie's journals now. I'll be sending them together in 2-3 days to Marieke :)

liniecat 06/26/2007 #

Mine must be on its way Home!!!!!! Wahey! Good job the floods have subsided, got to sand bag stage, though am still waiting for the darned bags! Still 'without' at present but am being very patient lol Lyn

julief 06/26/2007 #

I don't have any at the moment, but work/craft fairs have picked up so it's probably a good time for a short break :)

gramsbuttonbox 06/27/2007 #

I sent off Angel Faery's journal today to Jewels - be watching for it, and have lots of FUN!

MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 06/28/2007 #

I'm moving in a few weeks, so only have internet access at the library, for 30 minutes a day - to save some money for the move, etc, but I can only "check in once a day" then -

AngelFaeryKathleen 06/29/2007 #

Hi Dreamer, No books as yet! How did you send them?

gramsbuttonbox 06/30/2007 #

I'm really SO sorry, but cannot be online every day - I'm moving in a few weeks, and being on Disability, have turned off my internet to save some money -

I'm SO thrilled tho, seeing how wonderfully everyone is keeping in touch - if it ever DOES become an "emergency" you can surely call me - my phone number IS listed, and Huron, SD is a very small town, in area code 605.

I can only be online at the library, for 30 minutes a day, and they are NOT open sundays. AND they were closed yesterrday - (Friday) -

Please be well, everyone, take care, and have a good weekend, I really AM keeping track of things, but just don't always have time to post much!

hugs to you ALL! MaryB (Boatright)

gramsbuttonbox 06/30/2007 #

Dreamer!!!!!

where are you?
please let us hear from you!!

SOON MaryB

liniecat 07/ 1/2007 #

Gram good luck with the move and all, thanks for telling us the situation. This RR is well on its way thankfully you should be able to be worry free!

Weve had really bad floods here, so justa s well I was without a journel and had gotten that one posted off in good time! The north of england has been struck badly, we had a months rain in 24 hours and 3 days of rain all togther! It was torrential......well for england thats unusual you know lol This yorkshire area has many rivers and the high ground( the moors)just washes it all down to the valley/flat areas and some places reguarly flood up. Its most unusual for Hull to flood this way, though 95% of the city is beneath water level and its built up on ancient marshes. I came to within a gnats whisker of water beraching the back of my old terrace house but it did get into the air bricks so I imagine the foundations will be wet and need to dry out some. Out front of me was river!!! It was about 14" deep at the pavements and about a foot deep in the roads centre. Its a busy road too so evry time a bus,car or lorry went past there was a swell of water. Fortuneatly it wasnt raw sewage, just excess rainwater and the drains had backed up with that rather than anything else! Though several areas in Hull have been contaminated with sewage. We were told to expect another bout of really heavy rain this weekend but so far.......fingers crossed.......its been light. That may mean another area in yorkshire has had it instead of course. Anyway postal deliveries will be delayed, some areas only boats and infaltibles are getting through lol so if theres any delay folks here, Ill let you know!

marieke 07/ 2/2007 #

O Linie, I'm sorry for you.

gramsbuttonbox 07/ 2/2007 #

kind thoughts sent your way linie - know that you are in our thoughts!
hugs, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 07/ 2/2007 #

Just to let everyone know - I AM moving, but not until the last week of August - so any journals heading my way, go ahead and send them -

Also, even tho I cannot be online much, I DO promise to work on any journals that come my way quickly, and get them sent!

(It would be nice if EVERYONE made a similar promise - I know it's summer, and lots of family activities going on, so no one is online as much it seems) - -

you are ALL such an awesome bunch - hugs to you ALL, MaryB

ksj1717 07/ 3/2007 #

linie, I'm sorry to hear about the troubles you are going through. I will keep you in my prayers.

ksj1717 07/ 3/2007 #

I just had some kind of creative block and didn't want to send less than my best, to be honest. So, hopefully my journal will be moving onward next weekend or shortly after. Thanks.

gramsbuttonbox 07/ 3/2007 #

thanks for letting us know - I promise you that no one in any of these RR swaps would ever be critical of anything that someone might contribute to their journals -

I'm just in awe that here is a wonderful group of creative, gentle, funny, caring people, who will add their hands to my humble beginnings - -

it's all good!

it's a holiday tomorrow in the US, so make it a safe one, everyone -

hugs to you ALL, MaryB

marieke 07/ 4/2007 #

Hi Friday I received Kim's (Kandm17) journal back, I sent out to dreamer over a week ago. The envelop was teared up but with the journal everything was perfectly fine, thank god. I have sent the journal again to dreamer on saturday. Kim your journal sure loves to travel LOL. Saturday I finished jewels journal (great album jewels!) Monday I sent jewels journal to dreamer. Wildcargo have you received any of the journals?

Keep being creative and have fun. Greetings Marieke

gramsbuttonbox 07/ 5/2007 #

I am without a journal at the moment, and suffering greatly! hahaha - - actually, enjoying a bit of reprieve - have a good week, everyone - I can't be online tomorrow, and don't know yet if library is open Saturday - it's definitely closed Sunday, so I might be "incognito" til Monday!

Please be well everyone, and yes, if I get a journal, will hurry with it and send it onward quickly!

hugs to you ALL, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 07/ 9/2007 #

please do not get discouraged anyone - this swap IS on the move - there's been a lot going on, with summer here, and lots of family stuff, as well as some emergencies, even -

I was going to try to call everyone, this weekend, but actually could not get phone numbers for MOST people - even with addresses - just to re-encourage everyone, and to keep the good thoughts!

I'm in all six of these RR's, and have been without for almost a month - but I know also, that in several of the swaps, there are FOUR and even FIVE journals travelling together.

Please don't be down, or worry - I see NO reason to doubt everyone's commitment to a successful swap!

hugs to you ALL, MaryB

wildcargo 07/10/2007 #

Haven't received anything yet, it looks like it all depends on how Dreamer mailed her journal. If it went by boat it could take 3 months (2 weeks by air) to get to Kathleen and then about 10 days from New Zealand. I'll probably get one huge lump of journals and will have to work for days straight to get them all taken care of, but I'm ready to go.

-Jennifer

lighthouse 07/10/2007 #

I sent two journals to Marieke - Mary B's and Lyn's. It was just much cheaper to send them together as I send all the journals by registered mail. \hugs to you all :) Aggie

gramsbuttonbox 07/11/2007 #

yeah, I know that sometimes it takes a while - I will definitely remember to add a "disclaimer" to the info for the next batch of these RR swaps - that it's not just a TIME commitment, but yes, it's a bit of an expense commitment also -

I AM going to be starting another batch of RR swaps, but think I'll just wait til I move (end of August) - with kids back in school, and fewer family vacations/absences, it might be easier for everyone to keep track. And yes, give these all a chance to wind down - please do not be discouraged anyone, I really DO believe in the ongoing commitment of our dear group!

hugs to you ALL, have a great week! MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 07/11/2007 #

Hi all, Just to let you know still not books in N. Z. :-(((

lighthouse 07/11/2007 #

Mary B :D I'm not that muckworm, but I got these 2 journals together and sent them together too :) I thought it could save some Marieke's time too - because she probably can go to the PO just once a week.

Angel Faery Kathleen - cheer up, you'll get them :) And then you're going to be veeeery busy!

AngelFaeryKathleen 07/12/2007 #

Oh Lighthouse the mind boggles, all 10 could arrive in the same week!!!!!!!!!!

liniecat 07/14/2007 #

lolol like you got anything else to do Angel??????

ksj1717 07/14/2007 #

Marieke, sorry my journal was so stubborn to leave...you must have made it feel welcome. I'm still working on JF's journal. I'm sure the pressure of work and children is where my creative block stemmed from. I have one page completed though. I will try to work some this afternoon and tomorrow so it can go out on Monday.

marieke 07/15/2007 #

Lighthouse thanks for thinking about me it sure saves me a lot of time to drive 1 time to the postoffice instread of two times. I will let you know when I have got the journals. And kandm17, I think so, your journal liked me LOL.

gramsbuttonbox 07/19/2007 #

I AM moving, and it's been "moved ahead" - to August FIRST!

I will message who sends to me, with my new address, please use it effective right away for any journals coming my way.

have a really GREAT week, everyone, warm hugs to you ALL! Mary

gramsbuttonbox 07/21/2007 #

ok - and this is the last time I'm going to do this -

once again, we are in the position of Dreamer being silent and invisible - I do not know what is going on, I do not know if she has suddenly become ill again or what - if that's the case, I'm really sorry - -

but....

running these rr's is a HUGE responsibility, and we have not heard a word from her - so marieke - do NOT send anything further to her - her ratings have plummeted to a 2! - I have received NO answers to emails, or messages -

Dreamer, if you have any journals, please just send them onward, there is no need or reason for you to feel pressured to add to them -

I've already bypassed her once, then because of a couple posts more than a month ago, reinstated her - and now am right back where we were earlier -

this time, there will be NO reinstatement -

If she does have any journals, I apologize with warmest hugs and TEARS that they might be gone -

one lesson that I have learned, and will be very strict with in any future RR's - if the person has been in any of these swaps, and has NOT kept us informed or sent me any additional contact info (like a phone number) - then they will not be a part of the group - so yes, everyone will be judged by their "commitment" to THESE rr's.

with a sad sigh and warm thoughts to the rest of you, MaryB

liniecat 07/22/2007 #

Lets hope she posted on and isnt sat holding one of our babies.......but thats the jiggeration factor and we may never know whats happened to her, so no reflection on the rest of us and sad that it may impact on our circle. These RRs are as much about trust as creativity it seems. Hugs to all xx

lighthouse 07/24/2007 #

It's sad news :( Last time we heard from her here she had my journal. I hope she sent it forward...

AngelFaeryKathleen 07/24/2007 #

Hey, she may have sent to me by sea as it is a lot cheeper, and if so they take 3 months to get to NZ. If I ever get them I will of course let you all know ASAP. I am always hopefull. In the mean time I will look forward to all of the others as they come. Hugs to you all, Angel Faery Kathleen :-))))

liniecat 07/27/2007 #

Dreamer had been in hospital handnt she last time, so hope shes not really ill, again? Friday 27th July here and Im still without a journal, ANY journal lolol It will be gutting for any of us if our 'baby' doesnt ever turn up...fingers crossed for us all!

wildcargo 07/30/2007 #

Hey- I have only worked in Angel Kathleen's journal so if there are "lost" journals out there I will gladly work in anyones journal that wants to restart theirs or do a "tip-in" for the other members of the group.

Best of luck.

gramsbuttonbox 08/ 1/2007 #

I do remain trying to keep on top of these, and thank all who have sent me phone contacts - as for Dreamer, I have no idea what's going on with her, but HAVE heard from lots of ptople who have said that simply with the summer, it's been SO crazy busy, with kid's activities, vacations, illnesses, and moving (not just mine, either) - - please do not be too disillusioned, everyone, I'm still hoping for a success here - -

also, I'm moving THIS weekend, so this will have to be my last post for awhile - til I get settled or find a library there - thanks for keeping us all informed, and please have a great weekend, everyone! MaryB

lighthouse 08/ 2/2007 #

Marieke, have you got the journals? I haven't heard from you for a while ;-)

I guess I'm waiting now for the next journal to arrive from Kim :-)

ksj1717 08/ 2/2007 #

Sorry Lighthouse...should be coming your way soon....halfway completed.

lighthouse 08/ 3/2007 #

Kim, there's no need to be hurry! I'm always pretty busy in summer, so please take your time :-) hugs

marieke 08/ 6/2007 #

Hi everybody

A couple of hours ago I came back from my holiday we had a great time and lots of fun. Lighthouse drive to the postdistribution centre to pick up the two journals you have sent 2 weeks ago. I'm nit sure if I can finish them in 5 days, Maybe it will take a little longer, I'm very busy becaurse of the summer. Enjoy your holidays.

Greetings Marieke

lighthouse 08/ 6/2007 #

Linie, good news! Your journal is now at Marieke. So you don't have to worry anymore, lucky you! :)

liniecat 08/ 8/2007 #

Thats wonderful news !! Heaven help me whenever I become a grandmother.....I'll worry myself to death then lol Mind you Im still going to worry where all of your books are, you realsie that dont you! Once I get mine back, thats only 1/10th of the story...I'll be restless till I know all our babies got home safe! Ive just received a copy of Somerset Studio I bought on Ebay to see what it was all about. Now who do I know that might treat me to a subscription....!!! I also treated myself to Artful Paper Dolls.....WOWee, so much fun! Foot and mouth in UK once again and some suggestion its possibly been deliberately leaked from a government testing site......great world eh........Anyone heard from Gram, did she get moved okay? Take care all x

gramsbuttonbox 08/ 8/2007 #

Hi everyone - I'm living in TEXAS!!!!!

and loving it!

Thanks for the wonderful well-wishes everyone, the move went smoothly and FUN - saw lots of interesting sights and made excellent time - my address is now DIFFERENT from originally stated, to my "mail-from's" - so I will message those (in all 6 RR's) with it, so be watching for the message.

Hugs to you ALL, have a great week everyone! MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 08/19/2007 #

Hi everyone, I'm seeing LOTS of new activity on these RR's swaps, so I'm completely optimistic that these little beauties are "on the move" once again - it's been a long and busy summer, with vacations, kid's activities, moving, etc, and it's wonderful to see that these journals have NOT been forgotten or ignored - perhaps just put aside for a bit -

let's gear up again and get these done and moving, everyone - and thank you SO much for all that you have done to make it such a grand experience for us all -

keep us posted, and have a great week, MaryB

lighthouse 08/20/2007 #

Mary, I'm so happy for you! All the best for you in Texas LOL!

Unfortunately I don't know where my journal is :( The last person to have it was Dreamer.

liniecat 08/22/2007 #

No journals here............:(

wildcargo 08/27/2007 #

O.K. I'm going to be frank (not angry), I'm getting a little frustrated at this point. Could we get a list of which journals are definately in someones hands. I'm sure others are worried about their journals as well. If we could at least get a list of which journals are unaccounted for I would be much happier. I undersatnd it is beyond our control that someone in the group my have have dropped out do to illness (or worse) and others have gotten busy because it summer, but I have had one journal in 5 months. At this rate it will take 4 years to finish this swap, that is definately not what I expected. Even with long distances and slow mail I was guessing about 1 journal a month.
The best to everyone but this is my last swap-bot swap because my experiences have been so bad with almost all of my swaps, I still look forward to putting loving care into everyones journals when they show up. Sorry to be the grouch of the group, every one here seems to be nice and I'm sure I'll be much happier if I finally get to see the talents of others first hand.

liniecat 08/28/2007 #

Must admit Ive grown abit despondant too, it is disappointing when folk let you down on swaps and Ive had my share of those on Swap_Bot. I suppose we send out in trust, and if we dont get our books back, whilst it serves us right for being trusting... its a lesson we'll have to just accept. I havent had a book for ages but not quite as bad a Wildcargo. Ive laid out for postage, on occasion when I could least afford to, so hope I have something back in the end to show for it lolol. Hope also that my pages of friendship reach the ones they were destined for! But if I lose out on these RRs, I wont cast my trust to the wind and get involved again....which is such a pity when contact outside our own little worlds, in this delightfully 'gifting' way is so personally rewarding. The delayscould be through ill health, say if I was ill, my daughter might not think to log on for me, or know the password etc. If it were a death or an accident the same might apply.....creative souls often have degrees of depression ( I do) so that might take its toll for some. Then there are the family and social joys of kids ill/ bullied/ arrested for shop lifting lol, crashing YOUR car, losing your job, hous repossessed...all those little baggage happenings that can strike any of us from time to time. Do you know Ive several things on the go ( nothing unusual lol) but completing my stage of anothers journal inspired me to complete things of my own? So Im in a limbo state, a lethargy lol Fingers still crossed......stil hoping journals rise like the phoenix and fly home lolol Take care all

lighthouse 08/28/2007 #

I had 5 journals so far (including mine) and I sent them all forward:

kandm17's and mine were sent together on May 17th and received by Marieke

Jewels' was sent on June 6th and received by Marieke

Linie's and Gram's Button Box'es were sent together on July 10th and received by Marieke

and I have NO CLUE were these journals are now. Last time I heard about mine it was at Dreamer's. She hasn't informed us if she's passed it on.

Actually, I've spent a small fortune already on shipping because I sent everything by registered mail (I'm responsible one :)) - and if I don't receive my journal back it will be a very unpleasant lesson for me :(

gramsbuttonbox 08/29/2007 #

Hi all, I've been out of town for a family funeral, so have not had a chance to check in lately.

reading the comments, I also feel quite upset by the outcome of this swap - four of these RR's have gone and continue to go wonderfully, with a full load of committed swappers - but two of these are really painful for me - I don't know what to say to try to make up for the mess, but out of the twenty swappers in the two swaps, SEVEN people have either dropped out, or disappeared!

They ALL had "full ratings" when this started - and at the very least, if you have the ability to rate anyone who has NOT kept us informed or done their part, please do so!

According to my records (and please realize that this has not been updated in about a week or so) -

I have also worked in five journals (including my own) - I do not think that marieke has been sending to Dreamer in a long time, but have not heard anything from them to know for sure - I have also not had any from this swap in a while - but I send to Jewels, and I know she is active and still involved, tho busy, I'm sure. I received a journal FROM her, that she just finished working in, in one of the other swaps.

I am going to try tracking down everyone once again, including Dreamer, to see if she has any journals and would just send them HOME, if she can - I will even send her some stamps if that would help.

I'll let you know what I find out - if you have not yet sent me your phone number, please message me with it, or email it to me. (I will NEVER abuse it, but would just like to be able to track these down) -

I really do hope that this works out, please know that I'm really trying to get to the bottom of this, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 08/29/2007 #

please check your emails, everyone, MaryB

julief 08/29/2007 #

I've had two journals so far.. none for a long time.. and I'm currently journal-less.

Really hope this all works out.. I was in a failed rr journal swap before this one and was really disappointed.

Like Linie, I've got my fingers crossed though...

liniecat 08/30/2007 #

I reckon if we all think positive thoughts, pray, or whetever we each choose to do......well, it will either all come together in the end or maybe we'll at least feel better lolol

liniecat 08/30/2007 #

Good point Lighthouse by the way, I guess with registered mail you are able to track receipt. Hadnt thought of that though I should have.

AngelFaeryKathleen 08/30/2007 #

As Dreamer sends to me I have had NO books.

I would like to suggest to wildcargo and all of those that have been reliable on this and the #2 RR that if we want to do another we arrange it privatly.

Hugs to you all :-)))

gramsbuttonbox 08/30/2007 #

yes, that is already the "plan" that any future RR swaps that I host would be private - and yes, I would require a "good reference" - which means that the person would have to show me in THESE swaps that they've stuck with it, and done what they agreed to at the beginning.

I am not too surprised that the responses that I've received so far by email, are from those people who are already active. I am really just about sick about this - I don't know what to do, or how to track them down, other than to say once again that if you are reading this, and you HAVE a journal, get it SENT by this weekend!

Even if you've had it for a long time, even if you have NOT added to it, please send it HOME or onward to the next swapper.

Also, PLEASE - those of you who DO read these comments, please rate those swappers accordingly.

MaryB

liniecat 08/31/2007 #

Gram please dont feel bad, it isnt a reflection on you! We all know human nature can let us down. xx

AngelFaeryKathleen 08/31/2007 #

Would it help if I made wee replacement books / decos for Marieke and Lighthouse and then sent them on their way as If they are the original books? It will be about a week before I could get them made and on their way.

AngelFaeryKathleen 08/31/2007 #

Who else lost their book into the black hole?

ksj1717 08/31/2007 #

Hello everyone. I'm sorry that I've not checked in lately. I will be sending Julie Faust's journal out tomorrow. My husband lost his job so we've both had to start working two jobs in order to make up for the income. 60 hours a week at work and the rest with my two young boys... My oldest son just started kindergarten, which has been an adjustment, and It's been difficult trying to schedule time appropriately. I'm still good...creating is the only time I get for me...I just don't have much of it. Now that our routine is getting a bit more settled, there shouldn't be any reason for me to be holding onto another journal. I hope you will be understanding...and if you pray, please remember us. If my husband could only find a really good job, we can go back to the way things were. Thanks, Kimberly

gramsbuttonbox 08/31/2007 #

Kimberly, it's good to hear from you - and speaking for myself, and I'm sure for the others, I'm just happy that you are willing to be a part of the group now - we surely do all understand real time things that come along - and yeah, my prayers are with your family -

keep in touch, hugs, MaryB

Best of luck Kinmerly. Stretching pennies and the 24 hour day, isnt easy I know! Lyn

liniecat 09/ 1/2007 #

oops Kimberly...spelling, sorry!

marieke 09/ 3/2007 #

Hello I have to appologise to all of you for not keeping in contact a couple of weeks. I was rushed to the hospital one day when I woke up and couldn't move both my arms and hands, I have had surgery and now I'm oke again. I have Lyn's journal and MaryB's journal at my house and will finish them this week, To who do I have to sent these journals? Again I'm very sorry about the whole situation.

Greetings Marieke

liniecat 09/ 3/2007 #

Might be both to me I think Marieke. Then I would be the last entrant in Marys journal and would forward it on to her? So glad you are on the mend and so sorry to hear that youd been poorly. (hug)Take care xx

marieke 09/ 3/2007 #

hey Linie Have you received my email? I was sending the journals to Dreamer, Are you the person receiving from dreamer, or someone else? Please let me know so I can sent the journals out as soon as I finish them. I working on MaryB's journal at the momen. Just took a break tp post a message. And now back to work. Greetings Marieke

jewels1 09/ 4/2007 #

I don't know about all of you, but I am in three journal round robins, and my books have been coming in big batches. A while back I recieved 6 all at once and then 5 all at once a day later. Before that I had recieved 7 at once. They've since all left my hands and the last batch is on it's way to Kimbery and Mary as of last Friday. I sent the Dorothy Parker journal (which brought endless smiles, I love, love, love it!), the flower journal of Simply Sarah, the journal that had the prompts inside the front cover to create a page from, hmmm . . . not sure which others, but I did put delivery confirmation on all of them. I'm pretty sure that Angel Fairy's and Wildcargo's were in the last batch, have no fear, they are still traveling. Kimberly's confirmation # is 03033440000162653795. Mary's #'s are 03040370000116333818 and 03040370000116333801. Thanks for the art everyone, I know it's been a busy summer, but now that the kids are all back in school and vacations are done, maybe these journals will get back on a more regular schedule. I truly hope none of them are actually "lost", that would be a terrible shame after all the work and creativity that was put into them. Hopefully they were just held up for good reasons, like summer fun and vacations, and not because of illness or worse. These round robins have been a lesson in art from many different people, a lesson in perserverance, trust, friendship, tolerance, creativity, and so much more. I think the postage and waiting has been a small price to pay for what we've all gained in the end, especially once all of our creative treasures have completed their journeys and make it home. I know I will treasure mine forever. Be happy always! Jewels

liniecat 09/ 5/2007 #

No emails Marieke, did you get the ones I sent o you okay? I may be wrong then and confusing which swap this is lol. If you would have sent to dreamer Mary may want you to alter and send to her instead. Dreamer has dropped off the map lolol Best contact Mary B for your next move xxxxxxxx

Jewels I agree with you, the shared art is simply wonderful and worth whatever postage!! The waiting is harder lol cos Im impatient!

Will give you all a laugh here. Im about to have builders come and rip out all plaster up to 3' on all downstairs walls, skirting board, full kitchen refit, laminate floors and all floorboards beneath them......since the june flooding. This means dehumidifiers and replastering, workmen, no washing machine, no fridge freezer and only the upstairs 3 bedrooms and bathroom to live in! My daughter Tylah and myself, 4 cats and 2 dogs are to say the least cramped, surrounded by whatever furniture I could get up the stairs and fir around us. (Had to demolish my leather settee and chairs cos they were so very old and large, they only made it in this old house by 4 blokes pushing it and paintwork being stripped off doorways! I couldnt get it upstairs, or fit it in up here, and it would only go outside in pieces! No cooker to cook on and my tv wont even work........wheres the GIN???????? My foot op hasnt worked am in pain still, at consultant tomorrow to see if they need to reoperate lol all I need amongst this upheaval. Havent been to work since may and am going STIR CRAZY lolol So roll on journals arriving for my therapy... thouigh I may be 'creating' with what I can still find!!!!

ksj1717 09/ 6/2007 #

Linie, I know you said you were giving us a laugh, but I didn't find much funny in that!! I guess you're right though...we have to laugh and the hard times sometimes just to get through them. Prayers and warm wishes to all of you with the operations, pains, ordeals...I guess we're all struggling in some way. Remember, we are here to learn and grow through it all. I'm looking forward to receiving the journal that Jewels has promised. Currently, this swap is my only endeavor outside of home and work. Hopefully, I will be able to create something that will be enjoyable by it's owner. To all: Have fun and hang in there! Kimberly

liniecat 09/ 7/2007 #

Kimberley thankyou. If I didnt have my sense of humour Im sure I would have been certified long ago! Good news though, I dont have to have another operation, consultant says go back in 3 months and manage the pain! The builders are doing a great job of wrecking the ground floor of my old house and I have decided to move out and rent another place locally. We cant stay here, cramped up, with all this building work around us and nowhere to wash/cook etc. The animals will all go into kennels/cattery paid for by the insurance ( I sincerely hope!) Once its all completed I will have fabulous new ground floor home, decorated to my own colour scheme, so clouds and silver linings maybe? I will collect mail from here and let those that need it have the rental address, when I have it.

AngelFaeryKathleen 09/ 7/2007 #

Hi Marieke, I glad you are on the road to recovery.

Dreamer was to send to me so if OK with Mary you then send to me rather than Dreamer. Thanks

lighthouse 09/ 8/2007 #

Hi all :) Julie Faust journal is here! It arrived from Kimberly. Wonderful journal, so much to read...I love your stories gals!!!

Angel Faery Kathleen, thank you very much for offering the substitute deco for me - but to be honest, I would prefer to make another journal by myself. If I do, I'll send it straight to you, to New Zealand- mail from Poland gets there really fast :) Then it could travel the normal route, and I would ask Marieke to add in it at the end. (I don't know if I make any sense- I'm totally sleepy ;)) Aggie

liniecat 09/ 8/2007 #

Im more than happy to add in to anyones (replacement)journal thats got lost in the system, even if Ive 'added' before, in one(s) that may be lost. Now I KNOW you understood what I meant.....even though it reads abit odd lolol (down past half a bottle of win........... lol)

marieke 09/ 8/2007 #

Hi Isn't it possible to phone dreamer and ask her friendly to sent the journals to Angel Faery Kathleen? Or someone else living in the USA so the journals won't get lost. I will pay for the postage if that's a problem. And Linie I don't know what went wrong sending you emails, didn't you get a email sent by my boyfriend explaining my situation, He sent you and maryB an email, I have to figure out what went wrong. I have received one email from you about 10 days ago. I have MaryB's journal ready to sent out and lyn's journal's almost done. How's MaryB doing, is she oke?

Angel Faery Kathleen I too prefer to make my own journal, I loved the idea I had for this round robin and still would love to see everybody's responds. I think 4 journals are missing correct me if I'm wrong, Lighthouses, kimberly's, Jewels and mine these are at dreamers place I think.

Greetings Marieke

ksj1717 09/ 8/2007 #

I received two journals from Jewels today. Please let me know if I need to begin a new journal of my own to send around.

liniecat 09/ 9/2007 #

No Marieke I didnt get any email explaining you were poorly. I never trust cyber space anyway ..I mean if you cat SEE it, how we know where its gone lol! I was worried at not hearing from you and had sent you one or two funny emails as well as a recent one, asking if you were okay and if you wanted me to pay postage for you lol and heres you offering, now to pay postage for Dreamer lol If anyones journals are astray, I should think we would all volunteer another entry in a replacement, for whoevers lost out.

jewels1 09/ 9/2007 #

Aack!!! My journal is lost??? Whaaaa!!!!! What to do? Start a new one? How disappointing!

ksj1717 09/ 9/2007 #

Okay, Jewels...you said what I was actually feeling. I guess we'll do what we have to do, but I don't have to like it.

AngelFaeryKathleen 09/10/2007 #

I am happy to make a replacement journal for any one who need it just let me know. Hugs to you all :-)))

Lighthouse will you need my snail mail addy?

marieke 09/10/2007 #

All these 4 journals are at dreamers, I don't know how we can contact her about sending these 4 journals to another person, she hasn't been on swapbot for a month now. Angel faery can you please sent me you snail mail address so I can sent MaryB's journal and lyn's journal to you. I'm working on a replacement for my own journal.

Greetings Marieke

lighthouse 09/11/2007 #

If Dreamer hold 4 journals (!!!) it's really worth to try get them back. Let's wait what Mary would say. I think it would be nice to remind Dreamer via snail mail to send the journals onward...

AngelFaeryKathleen 09/11/2007 #

Lighthouse that's a good idea, I hope it works :-D

jewels1 09/11/2007 #

Maybe if we ALL send her a seperate snail mail so she gets LOTS of reminders?

marieke 09/13/2007 #

I have tried to find out when I have sent who's journal to dreamer, On 06-06 dreamer mailed me that she had received my journal and that she would sent it to kathleen within a few days. 13/06 I have sent lighthouses journal to dreamer, she mailed me on 24/06 that she received lighthouses journal and that she will get back to me on what date she posted mine to kathleen. I sent Kimberly's journal to dreamer 20/06 but got it back weeks later an have resent it the first week of july. This is the same week I have sent jewels journal to dreamer. Kathleen didn't receive one journal from dreamer, not even dreamers own journal so I think and hope that these 4 journals are still at dreamers place. I have dreamer website address, her gmail address and I noticed she has a my space account. Isn't there a way the find het phone number and call her to ask her friendly to sent the journals to the next person?

Greetings Marieke

marieke 09/13/2007 #

Is everything oke with maryB? I'm a little worried about her, she hasn't log in the swapbot for 2 weeks now.

jewels1 09/13/2007 #

I was wondering the same thing marieke, I hope she doesn't feel she needs to avoid this because of the lost journals, it's obviously no fault of hers. Are you out there Mary? We miss you!

jewels1 09/13/2007 #

Marieke, why did you get Kimberly's journal back? Was it the wrong address, or did Dreamer send it back to you?

gramsbuttonbox 09/13/2007 #

Hi evryone - no, I've not fallen off the edge of the planet, but nearly been washed away! They's got HURRICANES in texas! We were without internet for more than a week, ( I don't remember how many days) - but things are back on track once again here - whew!

I've tried to contact Dreamer in every way possible - I cannot get any kind of telephone number from her, so she either has just a cell phone or it's not listed - I used her address, to try to track something down, but had no luck

If anyone has any other ideas of what can be done, about her, I'd sure be interested to hear.

marieke, I've messaged here here also, but you would bypass Dreamer and send directly to AngelFaery - I've also sent her address to you, but please confirm with HER that it's current - I thought I had it written down, but have not yet unpacked that, or it's "up high" to avoid the risk of water coming in!

Let's take a VOTE here and now then - if we can, let's try to account for every journal, for SURE, and if some are actually MIA, then yes, my vote would be to start those again, if it's okay with the rest of you - the rest of us have been committed to this swap, so I think that it still CAN be a success. (fingers crossed)

let me know what you want to do - MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 09/13/2007 #

also, I've forwarded my mail, and changed it here, to send to a PO box for now - we are moving in the near future, but I'm not exactly sure when or even which place yet - so this is easier than HOPING that my mail will somehow follow me.

take care, everyone, MaryB

gramsbuttonbox 09/13/2007 #

and yes, just so you know, there WILL be future RR swaps, but I've learned a whole bunch in hosting these - they will be either private, or "by invitation only" - and I'm sure you all understand the reasons for that -

please let's not give up on this fabulous concept, we are just smarter now - and yes, life is a learning process - too bad we dont get to know the answers BEFORE The test!

(I was a teacher for years, that's my alter ego talking! hahahaha)

marieke 09/13/2007 #

What does MIA mean? And for what do we have to vote, I'm not understanding the message? Can someone please explain. Sorry. Greetings Marieke

marieke 09/13/2007 #

Jewels The envelop was teared up almost completely, I don't know what happend to the envelop, there was an extra plastic envelop around when I received the teared one With the journal everything was perfectly fine, I'm happy for that. Greetings Marieke

gramsbuttonbox 09/13/2007 #

MIA = "missing in action"

also, the "vote" is just if you'd like to be included in any future RR swaps, and also, if you have any further ideas of what to do about journals that may be in Dreamer's possession, with no way to contact her.

If anyone WOULD like to send her a bunch of snail mails, I can get you her mailing address - that's of course hoping that it's still valid.

julief 09/13/2007 #

Hey everyone, I just posted a different sort of journal swap. I'm worried that no one will join, so I'd appreciate it if you'd check it out :)

http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/7411

I'd vote to do more RR swaps.. although I think the idea to do them privately with committed people might be the way to go.

Hope everyone is having a good week!

jewels1 09/13/2007 #

Julie, You need to clarify the information on your other journal swap. You say you have one partner and keep a journal for 20 days, then what? Will you swap with your partner and keep the journal they did? Swap and write in the other person's journal? I think if you edit the information people might sign up.

julief 09/13/2007 #

Thanks for the input Jewels. I've clarified :)

gramsbuttonbox 09/14/2007 #

it sounds like a great swap!

Any future RR swaps that I host will be set up basically the same, with one "send to" and one "receive from" partner, BUT - I will change the order that swap-bot assigns, so that the journals will travel in a more logical "line" - or circle - rather than circling the globe or country a half dozen times!

And yes, they will definitely be private or by-invitation-only - if you are interested, let me know - but I plan to start them soon after these have wound down.

have a good weekend, everyone, MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 09/14/2007 #

Hi Mary, I have said on the other RR that I would love to join in with more.

I PM Dreamer a couple of days ago but she will only get that when she logs on.

Hugs to all, Marieke is going to send to me and so I hope to see books in a couple of weeks. The order will be mixed up because of the misssing ones but as these are replaced than I will just slot them in :-)))

marieke 09/15/2007 #

I too would love to join the round robins in te future. I think it's a great idea to let the journals travel in a more logical line. I think this will safe time, and for some people money. Sending to the Usa is expensive for me, while sending in europe is cheap. Greetings Marieke

AngelFaeryKathleen 09/15/2007 #

Well it really makes not difference where I send to, exceapt to Australia or within N.Z., it is expensive. :-)))

liniecat 09/16/2007 #

Im game whatever you all decide and would happily re-do pages in any new journals sent out to replace the MIA ones. Poor Angel......you could do with your very own carrier 'post' pigeons! Mary I will need your new post box address for those I send onto you remember! I need to alter my address too for a while folks as well. I am moving into a hotel for about 8 weeks whilst the house is sorted after the floods........least it wasnt a hurricane! Phew! Mary, rather you than me! So if your posting to me please email me direct and I will let you ahve the [email protected]

lighthouse 09/17/2007 #

Jewels, you broke my heart with these messages on Flickr!!! I'm SO SAD too- put so much work into this...sigh.

I don't know if I join RR in future- it depends on costs I guess.

jewels1 09/18/2007 #

I know, lighthouse, I was so excited to get my journal with my house with papered walls. I can't believe of the three journals I have traveling, this is the one that got lost, what a disappointment. I definately want to be in another round. I just hope it turns out better than this one. Jewels

gramsbuttonbox 09/18/2007 #

I really do feel badly that in spite of (what I thought) were some strict rules to join, some flakers or lazy swappers got in -

That is why any future RR's will be only open to "proven" swappers, especially round robin swappers - the "by invitation only" part of that sentence means if you know and are willing to vouch for a good swappers that I may not know, that person CAN join, if he/she can also come up with another recommendation - sorry to sound so picky, but we've been thru a LOT together here, and I really do want some great wonderful FUN round robins!

thanks for your great input, everyone, MaryB

lighthouse 09/18/2007 #

Has anyone tried to contact Dreamer via DeviantArt site? It's in her links (in her profile) and she's been loggin' in frequently.

marieke 09/18/2007 #

I'm in 3 round robins at the moment, (1 was not hosted by maryB.) But two of my journals got lost, so thats a sad score. The other swap I'm speaking about (also on swapbot) even the host flaked and didn't do anything to solve the problems. I keep hoping the next swaps no journals will get lost. I sure Mary is doing everything she can to protect us and she's doining a great job. Maybe it's an idea to only let new people join who have fulfill an certain amount of real swap. Not 5 but maybe 25 just an idea. I'm sad that's my journals is lost but also the other journals I liked the things I made in them, lighthouses - lighthouse journal beautifull, jewels bag album a great idea with a lot of different possibilities and kimberly's journal with the fabric around. So sad.

marieke 09/18/2007 #

Lighthouse have you contacted dreamer via DeviantArt site? I noticed to that she still logs on to that site. I also have her gmail address.

Kathleen I have sent the two journals, linie's and maryB's to you with priority mail. They told me that it takes about a week to get them to you.

lighthouse 09/19/2007 #

No, I haven't time to figure out this deviantart thing... maybe some native english person could help and message Dreamer?

AngelFaeryKathleen 09/19/2007 #

Hi Marieke the mail takes 7 to 10 days from both Europ and USA. It will be great to get to work on this RR. Hugs :-)

liniecat 09/19/2007 #

Is Dreamer in UK then? What on earth is the deviantart site ????????

gramsbuttonbox 09/19/2007 #

does anyone know if Dreamer uses the same logon name in the deviantart site as here? I mean, is she "Dreamer" there also, or how would someone FIND her there?

I am "english-speaking" lol, so would be happy to at least TRY to track her down, if that's possible.

MaryB

jewels1 09/19/2007 #

I tried to contact her through the DeviantArt site, but you have to register with a lot of information and get a screen name and password. I chickened out on giving them my email, I'm not sure what that site is all about. I think her name on there is CassieFarmer or something like that.

lighthouse 09/20/2007 #

I guess it the site for sharing graphics and tools for graphics - I have quite many PS brushes from there (these are plug-ins to computer programm).

gramsbuttonbox 09/20/2007 #

Dreamer (Cassie Farmer) is in the US, at least that is what her address shows -

if anyone wants to TRY To write her, please go right ahead - as I've posted, I cannot get a telephone number for her, or any further info.

Cassie Farmer PO Box 52 Bradford, PA 16701

email: [email protected] and supposedly HER url - - http://cassiefarmer.deviantart.com/ - - as with most other url's in swap-bot, you HAVE to insert the www yourself.

I keep a notebook with every swap I've been in, with names and addy's for people who've sent to me, and that I've sent to - in looking back thru it, I have never had her as a partner before, otherwise I might have had an actual physical address - - if anyone else here has ever had her as a swap-partner and can offer more info, please do so -

MaryB

liniecat 09/21/2007 #

I suppose logging into the Deviant Art site might mean you cans ee if shes currently posting emails, in which acse she is probably deliberately witholding journals from us! Have no pc to use for a while other than works, so darent log into that site. I work with children and they might monitor me thinking Im into sumthing pervy!!! : <

jewels1 09/21/2007 #

Well, she's only 3 1/2 hours away from me, wouldn't she croak if I took a road trip?

lighthouse 09/21/2007 #

OMG, Jewels, are you serious...?! :D You rock ;) I would go, LOL! I don't know what have happened to Dreamer but she obviously hasn't sent her journal and is still keeping four our journals...and this is so unfair. I'll send her snail mail- at least something I can do...

marieke 09/21/2007 #

Jewels If you really plan on driving to dreamer, I'm willing to donate some gas money, remember it will also cost all of us al time and money to remake and sent these journals again. Lighthouse what did write in the email to dreamer, so I get some inspiration and write her an email too. Is there a way I can sent an email to her and see if she had read the email?

liniecat 09/23/2007 #

Jewels lolol love that idea, and Id put some dollars (or artefacts for you to use) onto the gas bill too. Checkout if theres at least an Art shop to visit thereabouts, so its not a completely wasted journey if she wont answer the door!

!!!!!

gramsbuttonbox 09/25/2007 #

One way that's pretty easy to see if someone has actually opened an email, is to send a CARD from one of the freebie sites - you can click to be informed when the person has opened and read your "card" - with a normal email, I do not know of any way to do that, but I'm not the most internet savvy person around, so maybe there is an easier way.

I'd also sure toss in some tidbits or gas funds if you actually thought of doing such a thing - please do NOT go alone, tho, dear Jewels, as no one here can actually vouch for her "decency" -

let us know what you want to do - I'm sure sending some empowering and safe thoughts your way right now!

MaryB

jewels1 09/26/2007 #

Wow, you guys jumped all over that, lol! I'm not big on confrontation, I was just thinking out loud. I wish I had the nerve to go, but I doubt I could find her anyway, we only have a PO Box, right? I am going to send her some snail mail.

Dreamer, If you're reading this and don't have time to work in our journals or don't have the postage, please just let us know. You can send them on without working in them, or we can arrange something for postage. Don't let lack of time or money keep everyone's journals from them, it's not fair to us or to your reputation on swap-bot or flickr. We all get busy and/or broke sometimes, so we'll all understand if that's the case, we've all been there. We trusted you to work in our personal journals, and in return agreed to work in yours, now we are trusting you to send them on. I'm sure as a fellow artist, you will do what is right. Thanks.

Jewels

jewels1 09/26/2007 #

Dreamer, you don't even have to comment on here if you don't want, just take a deep breath and send them on their way, finished or not...

marieke 09/27/2007 #

Great mail Jewels, very friendly. This weekend I will sent her email and some snail mail too. Greetings Marieke

gramsbuttonbox 09/27/2007 #

thanks for those words -

Dreamer, we do hope that you see these words of encouragement and wishes - and hope that you can follow thru with EITHER adding to, or just sending onward, our little gems.

MaryB

AngelFaeryKathleen 09/27/2007 #

let's hurry with these journals and try to get them finished and sent HOME soon -

have a good week, MaryB

liniecat 10/ 7/2007 #

I guess no ones had a reply from Dreamer then re The Lost Journals? I hope she gets very painful piles! :) Lyn

AngelFaeryKathleen 10/ 8/2007 #

Hi all and Spring greetings from New Zealand, I will be posting 2 books today to wildcargo, They are Mary's and Linie's. Thay are looking great, thank you :-)))))

liniecat 10/ 8/2007 #

Ive never been to New Zealand iether! Thankyou for having me lol

ksj1717 10/ 8/2007 #

Hey all. I'm just checking in to let you know that I still have the two journals that were sent recently (don't remember names...Dorothy Parker and the one traveling with it). I've been swamped with work and home situations (not a flood...marital strife)...guess it happens to us all. We are getting ready to move again...don't know if it will be together or separately, but the art will be a good release so please don't count me out. I'm saddened that my very first journal is gone forever and in the end of this, I will have nothing to show for it. But, I am a "man" of my word and I will continue to put my heart into your journals. Hopefully, I'll get these two out by next weekend. Kimberly

liniecat 10/ 9/2007 #

Kimberley am so sorry to know you are having problems, all round by the sounds of it too. Its hard to think that there will be a fresh start afterwards I know,( Ive been alone the past 16 years or so) but given time, you'll pull through it and come out the other side. How about you send your address to those of us that should have or actually did put entries into your original journal? We could send you a tip in to place in a replacement journal, that you could get your teeth into once your feet touch the ground! (hug) Lyn

lighthouse 10/11/2007 #

Kim, I'm also very sorry about your situation and sending you warm hugs. I love Linie's idea! I don't know if you'd had a chance to see the photos of what I made in your lost journal, but please know that I'll be more than happy to add in your replacement one or make separate pages and send them to you. And I would do everything to make it BETTER in every way :-)

Right now I'm making my replacement journal- it's enough being down, I have to do something finally! And I'd like it to be more pretty than the stolen one- so please girl, go crazy with this one - make it fat, beautiful, put your hearts in it! :-) This is the only one round robin swap I've signed up, so I would really like to have my journal back...

Jewels, if you start another journal - I'll make another house with painted walls for you! This one would be even better! Believe me, I know how you feel- but let's change it!:-)

Marieke - would you like to add to my replacement journal?

liniecat 10/13/2007 #

I'll remake pages or tip ins for whose-evers is to start again, count me in !

marieke 10/13/2007 #

Lighthouse I would LOVE to work in your replacement journal, I will work in all the replacement journals, and as lighthouse said the pages are gone be even better. I also ready to finish my replacement journal, will finish it this week.

Greetings Marieke

julief 10/14/2007 #

I'd love to work in any replacement journals as well.

I love how this swap has turned into a community unto itself.

Hope everyone is well.

liniecat 10/15/2007 #

Maybe we should have a 'reunion journal' in 6 months or a years time lolol but we wont invite Dreamer back .......

wildcargo 10/16/2007 #

YEah, I have journals!!! Thanks kathleen for posting them from so far away. Get ready Julie, this means journals will be coming your way soon.

julief 10/16/2007 #

Sweet!

marieke 10/17/2007 #

Kathleen today I finished my own replacement journal, I will sent it to you tomorrow.

Lighthouse are you sending your journal to me?

Greetings Marieke

lighthouse 10/18/2007 #

Marieke, yes, I'll send it on Saturday or Monday, together with Julief's journal, so you'll have two at once to work on :-)

AngelFaeryKathleen 10/19/2007 #

Great, another book on the way to N.Z. N.Z. is not so far away - just a tap on the key board.

?????Maybe for Christmas we could all send a photo of ourselves to all the others so we can put a face to our names. A real photo not how the way we wished we look like the one I use on Swap-bot?????

gramsbuttonbox 10/20/2007 #

Hi all, sorry to have been out of touch for a while - I got married! have just changed my address here, (and also my name, heehee) - but everything is being forwarded from my old address, so no problems -

hope everyone is doing well! hugs, Mary

I'd love to be included with any replacements that you guys may create - and you are SO right, Dreamer is not invited -

take care everyone,

lighthouse 10/22/2007 #

Wow, conrats Mary!!! :-)

I sent today 2 journals to Marieke - JulieF's and mine (replacement). I couldn't afford sending them by priority so they went by economic, I hope that Marieke will get them in a week or two. So now I'm without a journal and waiting for the next one to arrive.

marieke 10/23/2007 #

Hi lighthouse, I will let you know when I've got them. Greetings Marieke

liniecat 10/24/2007 #

If I have to have a piccy taken then okay I will, but how I hate to see myself as I am now, in a picture lol but it is a nice idea yes, to put a face to the name and to the chat!

ksj1717 10/26/2007 #

Hey guys. First of all, Congrats to Mary!!! I'm very happy for you. Myself, I've been somewhat blue of late, but mustering through. My husband and I are having a temporary separation in order to try to make the marriage work...sounds like a contradiction to me...the kids and I have to change our entire lives to he can find himself. Oh well, it's just life after all. Things change and then continue, right? I'm going to have to move in with mom since I can't afford the apartment on my own...but I believe that after that, I will start a new journal, have my picture made (with my new hairdo), and send them on (thanks for the kind words. We started this in April and me might as well aim for an anniversary to celebrate next April! At least now we know who the troopers are! Thanks for brightening my spirit with your messages. How's everyone else hanging in there?

marieke 10/27/2007 #

Kandm17, I hope everything will turn out oke for you and the childeren, whatever oke may be. Have fun making a replacement journal.

Greetings Marieke

julief 10/27/2007 #

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that I got Mary B and Linie's journals today! Holy cow, they are amazing!

I'll try to get them out soon, but I just started a new job and my first paycheck got screwed up (of course), so I'm not sure when I'll actually get some money. Will keep you all posted though.

Julie

AngelFaeryKathleen 10/28/2007 #

Hi all CONGRATULATIONS Mary wishing you much happines in your new life.

Marieke, Your journal arrived in NZ on Saterday -replacement one :-)))))) Oh it's good to get this round moving along.

Hugs to you all:-)

gramsbuttonbox 11/ 2/2007 #

you are SO right, we've got a few wonderful troopers in the group - and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that!

Let's get this swap finished, please, by sending these little gems onward FAST - they wanna be HOME for the holidays!

Mary

AngelFaeryKathleen 11/ 4/2007 #

Hi Marieke, your book is all done and I will be posting it to Wildcargo when I go to the mall on Tusday. I filled about 8 pages so I hope that is OK, there are still pleanty left for every one still to do their thing in it :-) (well it is a little but thick book).

marieke 11/ 5/2007 #

Hey AngelFaeryKathleen, it's not oke it's GREAT LOL. Thanks so much. MaryB are you hosting new round robins in the future, I so LOVE this concept. Can't wait to start a new round.

Greetings Marieke

AngelFaeryKathleen 11/ 5/2007 #

Marieke, thank you :-)

marieke 11/12/2007 #

Last week I picked up Lighthouses envelop at the post office, with JulieF's and her own journal. JulieF's journal is ready, tomorrow I will start in lighthouses journal, I will try to sent them to Angelfaerykathleen this week. Greetings Marieke

lighthouse 11/12/2007 #

Great news Marieke! :) Good to know they're on the move!

gramsbuttonbox 11/13/2007 #

c'mon everyone, let's try REAL hard to get these beauties HOME for the holidays! we CAN do it!!

keeping my fingers crossed big-time!

with hugs to you all, Mary

liniecat 11/14/2007 #

Thanks Julie will let you know when they arrive!! Newbie journals may not get to their owners of course which is dissapointing and takes the shine off those of ours that will be home for the holidays of course. Wish there was something more we could do about the lost 'souls'/journals. xx

wildcargo 11/18/2007 #

I have marieke's journal and will be getting it in the mail MOnday or Tuesday of this week, so it should arrive at Julie's just after Thanksgiving.

gramsbuttonbox 11/20/2007 #

These round robin swaps have been such a learning experience for me ( probably for all of us) - and I've really enjoyed every journal that I've been honored to be a part of - I know that I said earlier that I would be starting up another, soon after these wind down, but have re-thought that, and decided that I'm going to take a little break, when these are done.

I honestly never imagined that they would last as long as they did, but for me, that has not diminished the pleasure or inspiration that every one of them has brought my way.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for sharing your art with me, for being so generous with your talents, by adding to my humble beginnings, and for taking such good care of each other's little gems.

Have a nice Thanksgiving, everyone, (at least here in the US, but everyone, please enjoy your week) - I do look forward to "seeing" you all again, in future ventures, either here in swap-bot, maybe even in future round robins, or if you'd like to just drop me a note to say hi, I think you all have my email address - if you'd like my "real" address, just let me know -

In spite of whatever problems have come along with this swap, I still hold true that this HAS been a wonderful experience, and will stand alone as one of the most FUN things I've been a part of.

Thank you all, and blessings to you and your family! Mary

liniecat 11/21/2007 #

I went and posted the arrival of my own and Marys journals on the other journal link..........dim mare that I am! Julie they arrived safely and I have worked on Mary's and its packed to go!Just remind me Mary, is this now to you or to Joanne? I'm so excited Ive lost the plot!!! I didnt look at my own till Id completed Mary's, so i can get it on its way home, hows that for deiscipline then! Now I have read through mine and I simply love it, thankyou all so very much! The spine came away but thats cos its been loved alot en route and the original little book was, I realise not that strong, so lesson learnt there! I'll be able to adapt the cover and spine though so it will fgix fine enough. Thankyou so, so much all of you! You have all captured the essence of what Id hoped for! xxxxxx

liniecat 11/21/2007 #

No, it is to you Mary so it will be in the post this evening! Almost home xxx

AngelFaeryKathleen 11/21/2007 #

Liniecat, it's sooooooooo good to know that is arrived home and that you love it. I cannot wait to see mine when it gets home. Hugs Angel Faery :-)

lighthouse 11/22/2007 #

Mine is just in the begining of its journey. I hope it will work this time.

I'm so happy that Linie got her journal back and I hope she likes what I made for her! Cograts Linie! Now you have to keep the rest of us motivated ;-) xxx

For now I'm without journals. Waiting for the nex one from Kimberly.

Anyone heard from Jewels??!! I messaged her a while ago but she hasn't replied :-(

liniecat 11/22/2007 #

I really do love my book, I really do. Im thrilled with the input and can only say its a joy to read, and re-read it lol I intend to become a bore with it lolol I have shown it to some friends and they think its such a wonderful idea for people to put work in for someone else to enjoy, for anothers pleasure. For the journals-take 2, we will all work on them and make up for the loss of the originals. They will be a New Year gift when they make it home!(....spitting in Dreamers direction !)

I can see Mary, that with building a house and a new husband you probably have got other things in mind for your spare time just now and I hope we do meet up again in a swap of some sort again. Not sure I will enter via swap bot, since youcant be sure who may be on the list and Ive learnt you need to trust those you journal RR with!

I liked the idea of making an art doll and her going from one to another to be worked on and altered by each en route. Read the idea somewhere and cant think which mag I saw it in, but thought that would be fun to do. Each person had included a diary of the dolls trip to wherever it had been you know? Maybe they made a book about it? That rings a bell. So if anyone fancies that idea let me know maybe? For the new year, maybe feb time when we know all the journals are home and tucked up safely at last!

wildcargo 11/26/2007 #

Hey Julie- marieke journal is on its way to you, a little later then I intended but still making progress. Thanks wildcargo

marieke 11/27/2007 #

Kathleen, I have sent Lighthouses and JulieF's journal to you. Greetings Marieke

ksj1717 11/29/2007 #

Hello everyone. Sorry to not have checked in for a while. The move into my mother's home has not been as smooth as I had hoped. I don't know where half of my stuff is, but I know it's there. I hope to be sending journals out next week. Happy holidays to all.

julief 11/30/2007 #

hey marieke,

i got your journal yesterday! i'll be working on it soon and sending it on.

AngelFaeryKathleen 11/30/2007 #

Hi Linniecat I like the idea of a RR art doll :-) I would need more details but I do belong to a art doll group but we have never done a RR.

liniecat 12/ 2/2007 #

Kathleen have emailed you and we can discuss ideas if you fancy giving it a go! Im open to ideas and postage might make a paperdoll easier all round! Lyn

gramsbuttonbox 12/11/2007 #

Mary is in the hospital, has been there for two weeks - she will be unable to add to any journals that come this way, but would forward them onward immediately.

She sends her apologies, for any problems that this may cause, and wishes all a happy holiday.

(On a personal note, speaking on behalf of her family, she is in very serious condition, so please say a prayer on her behalf.)

Thank you.

AngelFaeryKathleen 12/11/2007 #

Hi Lighthouse & Julie your beautiful Journals have arrived in New Zealand. As Christmas is just around the courner and I have not sent out my cards I must do those over the next few days and enjoy getting the feel of your books and than I will be working on them.

Hi Marieke thank you for the beautiful christmas stickers, they will be most useful.

Prayes for Mary and wishing her a speedy recovery. Hugs :-)

julief 12/14/2007 #

I'm sorry I've been hanging on to Marieke's journal for so long. I'm going to be sending it out this weekend or early next week.

I've been swamped with final exams, but YAY the semester's finally over.

liniecat 12/15/2007 #

Fingers crossed for good results for you Julie! Now you can iether put your feet up or party without any guilt lolol

Lyn

ksj1717 12/16/2007 #

Not my best work maybe, but I gave it a creative effort. I am mailing out two journals tomorrow. I am thinking that it's too late in the game to start a new one and with everyone's situations and the holidays, I suppose I'll just call it a loss. It's been fun, though. I hope you enjoy your completed works and Merry Christmas. Prayers to Mary! Kimberly

liniecat 12/19/2007 #

Why not send us your address and we'll post you tip ins after the holidays? You tell us what size to work to and we could just send to a theme or from our hearts! Seems a shame to lose out....? Lyn

marieke 12/20/2007 #

I think that's a great idea Lyn.

Greetings Marieke

lighthouse 12/20/2007 #

Linie, it's a great idea and you can count me in! :-) I would be happy to make tip ins for Kim, nobody should be left without a journal here. I remember that Kim's journal was about 8" high and 5" wide- maybe we can arrange something like that...? Leaving 0,5" unembellished space on the left, for binding.

And has anybody heard from Jewels? Maybe we could make tips ins for her too.

Prayers for Mary...I hope she'll be better soon.

julief 12/20/2007 #

I'm in for tip ins for anyone who needs them!

AngelFaeryKathleen 12/20/2007 #

count me in for tip-ins for any one who needs them. Christmas blessingings to you of you :-) (_/) (O.o) '(_ _)' This is Bunny. Copy Bunny into your signature to help him on his way to world domination.

liniecat 12/22/2007 #

lol well a world dominating bunny might be more use than most politicians lol Jewels and Kim lets have addresses and well send you some warmth, wit, hugs and artwork to bring the New Year in with. And whoever else has a journal adrift, please let us put our pennyworth into a new one for you? happy holidays to you all folks. any news of Mary? Ive taken my two dogs out of kennels today and will have them home, even though its cold and the dehumidifiers are still chuntering away...Ive missed them so much these past 3 months and since the builders havent been near nor by my home.......its dogs rule over my holiday! Love, luck and laughter to you all xxxxx Lyn

lighthouse 01/ 3/2008 #

All the best in New Year to my round robins fellows! :-)

AngelFaeryKathleen and Wildcargo - your journals arrived to Poland today; I can wait to work on them!

liniecat 01/ 4/2008 #

Hi Julie, I collected Mariekes journal today from work and shall try and work it this weekend so it gets on its way round. Great postcards Marieke.......sooooo much colour!!

xx Lyn

liniecat 01/ 6/2008 #

Are we sending to Mary or missing her and sending out, to who she would have sent to?????? Anyone?

ksj1717 01/ 7/2008 #

Hey guys. I appreciate your wanting to send tip-ins for me. I think that in my current state, they would be very welcomed, so thank you! My address is:
Kimberly Mellinger 2249 Grey Ridge Road Maryville, TN 37801 I would like to work on putting them together in order to have something pleasant to focus on. Happy New Year to all!

marieke 01/ 8/2008 #

Thanks lin, I think this journal is so me, I LOVE color. Kimberly what size do we have to make your tip inns?

Does anybody know how Mary is doing?

Greetings Marieke

liniecat 01/11/2008 #

Kimberly brilliant! We can send you positive and huggy vibes and you can then have the fun of placing them in situ! So pleased we can still take part in your journal! Have you a theme or do you want us to deluge you with our hopes for you and your future? It wont feel theres a light at the end of your tunnel just now, I know from experience, but there will be I promise you, and it may be an altogether brighter and liberating route for you. Don't lose hope, life challenges us treasure and it's how we gather up our stall and deal with it, that makes us better people.........if sometimes abit cynical for a while lol ( hug) Lyn

I cant help but think its not in the least bit positive that no other contact has been made on here on Marys behalf? She must not be able to do so herself and heaven forbid.....may not be able to, full stop. Perhaps thats what happened to Dreamer and we maligned her thoughlessness? I have a package to post to Mary and am not really sure if I should do so.........! So confusing. I guess there should always be a backup list organiser with a copy of scheduled postings etc.but being wise after the fact wont help us or dear Mary now! Anway Marieke, your journal will go in the post today.....so one step closer to home eh!!! xx Lyn

ksj1717 01/11/2008 #

Liniecat,

I think that I would go ahead and send the package. If she is able to receive it, she'll know she has well-wishers. I had the same thought about Dreamer. I know if something happened to me, my family wouldn't have the information to know how to keep up with my artistic responsibilities.

If you would like to do a tip-in for me, my journal was going to be 8 X 8...any theme is fine....I just love seeing such beautiful talent coming my way that I can admire again and again. It really is like holding a Monet or Van Gogh with all of our aspiring artists...who knows what treasure it will become years down the road.

Thanks to all.

Kimberly

jewels1 01/11/2008 #

I've been so sorry to hear about Mary, I pray that she is alright. I will be glad to send tip-ins to Kimberly and anyone else who needs them, and of course I would be absolutely thrilled to recieve tip-ins. I have worked on three journal swaps, two of which seemed to disappear into thin air after several amazing artists worked in them. The one I did receive back is a truly an amazing collection of art that I will always treasure, it's an honor having it in my house. My address is Penny Kleiner, RD 2, Box 129, New Milford, PA 18834. To make things a little easier, the pages can be the same size as Kim's, 8 X 8. Thank you all so much for offering to do this, you are truly a generous and wonderful group of talented artists. Jewels

jewels1 01/11/2008 #

Hi all, I would also be honored to work in any replacement journals. Is Kimberly the only who needs tip-ins? Jewels

lighthouse 01/11/2008 #

Hi Jewels, good to see you back! Yes, Kim is the only one- Marieke and I made replacement journals and they are on the move now :-)

jewels1 01/12/2008 #

Count me in on the replacement journals, I hope they come my way, I'd be honored to work in them.

liniecat 01/16/2008 #

Right will get thinking for your tip ins ladies!

liniecat 01/20/2008 #

I had posted Mariekes journal to Mary, so when its posted onto whoever's next, will you make sure and post you have received it please? Im so worried that it wont get posted onto the next RR pal! May take me a while to make the tips ins girls, builders start in at repairing my gutted through downstairs finally, tomorrow but promise they will find their way to you both/all as soona s I can get them done. Dont want to rush them for the sake of it! xx Lyn

lighthouse 01/21/2008 #

Linie, please don't send my journal to Mary, forward it on to the next person. I will send it to Mary on my own when it gets back home - I hope it's ok? I don't want to bother her with my journal at the moment...I wish I knew how she's doing!

liniecat 01/22/2008 #

Okay will do that no worries, but no idea who the next person is that Mary would send to, hang on though.is it Jewels ? Does Mary post to you Jewels?.......... Im almost assuming that maybe Mary has had a stroke perhaps and may be able to see the journals but not work in them? Any ways Jewels if its you, please email me your address so I can bypass Mary in that case with the next journal? [email protected]

ksj1717 01/23/2008 #

Jewels, please let me know if you'd like a particular theme for your tip-ins or not.

Kimberly

marieke 01/26/2008 #

I hope so that my journal will be sent to the next person. I can't think of loosing an other journal again. Greetings Marieke

jewels1 01/29/2008 #

Liniecat, Yes, Mary was mailing to me. I emailed you my mailing address. Can't wait to work in another journal! Jewels

lighthouse 02/ 5/2008 #

I have Wildcargo's journal ready and now I'm working on AngelFaeryKathleen's - they'll be sent together soon to Marieke. Aggie

AngelFaeryKathleen 02/ 7/2008 #

Hi Lighthouse & Julie I'm sooo sorry I know I have had your books tooo long but with Christmas and It's summer in NZ I have only just back into art work, they are done now and will be in the post when I get to the post office over the weekend. I will let your know when they on their way. Hugs :-)

liniecat 02/11/2008 #

Jewells please tell me you have Mariekes journal by now????? Lyn

AngelFaeryKathleen 02/15/2008 #

I posted the books on Monday, so they should get to wildcargo in 7 to 10 days, Hugs :-)

wildcargo 02/18/2008 #

Hey all- I'm still out here, so I will keep my eyes open for the journals from NZ. I'm proud of everyone who continues to stick with this.

marieke 02/22/2008 #

Hi all I'm still here to worl in the journals. I only hope that my journal will turn up some where. It's so sad to lose two journals in 1 roundrobin, my first one and the replacement one. but I think I just have to accept it. Greetings Marieke

lighthouse 02/22/2008 #

Marieke, I hope your second journal is not lost! We just have to wait patiently...!

You can expect a package with 2 journals from me in 1-2 weeks. I hope they'll cheer you up!

wildcargo 02/22/2008 #

I have lighthouse and julie's journal, I'll to move them on quickly.

liniecat 02/28/2008 #

Marieke I am going to feel so blummin guilty if your journal hasnt been sent onto Jewels for you, and this your second journal too. What a fiasco this has been for so many of you. Soul destroying!

Kimberley and Penny I havent forgotten I owe you new tip ins.....I am still upstairs but have floors now downstairs and plasterers are in next week, kitchen fitted mid march, so some semblance of prder is taking shape in my home. I have no room to do much as it is at home and work has been so busy all round. I dont want to short change your tip ins just for sake of posting them, if that makes sense! Im not posting to Mary this time though, straight to Jewells. Surely that family friend might have gotten back to us? I am posting a letter to Mary to ask if anyone at her house knows about the whereabouts of Marieks journal at least. Hope you are all well folks... x

marieke 03/ 1/2008 #

I looking forward to recieve the journals. Will let you know when I have received them. Linie thanks so much for sending the letter to mary's family we will see what happen. Take care you all. Greetings Marieke

marieke 03/ 8/2008 #

I haven't seen any journals yet lighthouse, when have you sent them to me? Greetings Marieke

lighthouse 03/13/2008 #

I'm sorry I haven't been here for some time- Marieke I have to check it because I asked my husband to mail them. But they were sent by registered mail for sure, so don't worry.

wildcargo 03/13/2008 #

Julie- your journal and lighthouse's are on their way to you. Have fun.

julief 03/13/2008 #

Sweet, I'll let you know when they get here!

julief 03/17/2008 #

Hey everyone. My journal arrived home today and I'm overwhelmed. Thank you all for sharing your stories and beautiful artwork with me. It's the most beautiful swap I have ever received. I can't thank you enough.

I also received Lighthouse's beautiful journal. I will work on it and get it in the mail soon.

liniecat 03/25/2008 #

Jewels still no sign of Mariekes journal from Mary? I keep logging on in the hope something will turn up.......Julie so glad you have yours home and Bren too. Im not sure I could do another RR, despite it being a fascinating experience its left me feeling guilty that mine made it home. luv to all x Lyn

lighthouse 03/28/2008 #

Gals, I have some good news :-) I've just read a message from Mary posted on FlickR, so she's back! She's been for quite long at hospital.

Marieke, have you got the journals...? They were sent in the first week of March, you should have got them by now.

julief 03/29/2008 #

Linie - Lighthouse's journal is on it's way to you! Please keep an eye out.

liniecat 04/ 8/2008 #

Just great news then that Mary has been sighted on the internet! Fingers crossed that theres some post at last for some of you. I received Lighthouses journal Julie........phew, one down ! I'll get stuck into it this week and also the two tip ins that I promised to make for Jewells and Kimberley. Im still living upstairs, but there is lighht at the end of this tunnel.....my hairs alot greyer though!! take care all of you and am still up for tip ins if anyone needs one. liniecat 04/20/2008 #

Kimberley and Penny, tip ins posted to you last week by the way! Have written and emailed Mary ( emailed via Flickr and her own email addy) about Mariekes 2nd journal. Not sure what else I can do now about it. Its so damned annoying. Guess its safer to send tip ins to marieke? marieke send me your address please and I will make up a tip in for you to replace the ones Ive done before lol If those 2 books ever get to you, you shpould have an encyclopeadia I imagine lolol hugs Lyn

liniecat 05/ 4/2008 #

No word from Kimberley about receiving the tip in.....thanks Penny for your email. I do pop in now and then to see if anythings happened. Hope your all well. Lyn

lighthouse 05/18/2008 #

Thanks Linie for the update ;-)

ksj1717 05/28/2008 #

Hey guys. All is well. I have received my beautiful tip in and I'm so thrilled! Thanks so much! Work and life is keeping me so busy, but I am so grateful! I hope everyone is well.

Kimberly

AngelFaeryKathleen 08/15/2008 #

Hi all I have not had a book in such a long time! How are you all, we are comming to the end of a very wet winter - but not as wet as liniecat has had it in the past. Are you all dried out yet liniecat? Or are you still living upstairs? I still have a tip-in to do for Kimberly.

Penny what size is your tip-in and so you have a theme?

Who else am I doing tip-ins for? Arty HUgs :-) Angel Faery Kathleen :-)
