Description:

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of Amberleigh,

Tis the time for reflection and upliftment to all our good neighbours. With this in mind, we felt it time to decorate our Amberleigh journals with the Capital Letter of your partners name. That is right dear hearts, we shall have to wait for the partners to be assigned so that we may address our partner in a more familiar inclusive way. There is a much later sending date so we can practice after we have our partners character name, and forage on the internet in peace, to find the perfect CAPITAL letter ....... A personal Capital letter so they may glue it to a specific page in their diary/journal as a memento of your care and deeper thoughts about them and their character. What a lovely way to welcome the new year.

Please if the person has a character in Amberleigh, which we mostly all do now, let the Capital Letter be the first of their characters name, (NOT swap-bot user name.) eg. "M" for Matilda Cooper (Steinway5), or "H" for Henrietta Cole (Autist) or "L" for Lavinia Westcott (cherryblossomlady) or "P" for Penelope Colebrooke (wildernessnomad) to name a few.

The Capital can be hand drawn or cutout & decorated flat ready to be placed in our journal. I iterate flat, as anything 3D will incur higher postage nowadays, and there is no need for that pressure this ought to be fun and joyful flat swap. I have marked this a Type 3 swap, and a new year send, for something exciting to do and make after Christmas, as it is incurring time for research and effort, though no need for a package ladies. The postal system will be inundated with late packages. Unless you deem it necessary, there is no need for extras for this swap, as the decorated capital ought to be truly enough joy to behold and receive.

Please make the Capital Letter reflecting of our time period. If you do not know, Regency era is clean lines elegant and refined, Georgian is more Rococco it reflects Marie Antoinette era, more pretty ruffled & flamboyant opulence. It is up to you, I am sure you will enjoy your search. Regency Embroidery letters is where I found the 'M' above.

pinterest have marvelous ideas eg. www.pinterest.com.au/lucycummings58/scrapbooking-alphabet-and-lettering/

Dimensions of Capital letter - The whole card ought not be larger than 4x6 inches as a general reference. With decorating the actual Capital or if preferred a Bold letter and decorated surround. Most of us have an 8x11 inch journal so it will fit perfectly on a page. But keeping the letter under postcard size, will fit in the small journals some of the ladies who've chosen that size.

Now we cannot simply send a decorated piece of artistry as it will not mean as much to our partner without the accompaniment of a seasonal card to welcome the New Year, to our partners character. We are ever so slowly trying to encourage our members to write as their chosen character to their partners chosen character. Once you get started, it becomes easier and easier with each letter. The card will aid in protecting your piece of art.

Please join us, and give it a try. If you have not joined in a swap for a long time, this might be one you would like to try.
Your journals will look smashing!

Do not hesitate to message us or write below, if you have any queries.
