In Julia Cameron’s book, ‘The Artist’s Way” the author introduces the concept of Morning Pages, which are three pages of longhand, stream of consciousness writing, done first thing in the morning. There is no wrong way to do Morning Pages - they are not high art. They are not even “writing.” They are about anything and everything that crosses your mind– and they are for your eyes only. Morning Pages provoke, clarify, comfort, cajole, prioritize and synchronize the day at hand. Do not over-think Morning Pages: just put three pages of anything on the page...and then do three more pages the next day.
The Morning Pages will help you advance any creative activity or project, to include the creativity you use to approach thinking in your daily life. Also, there are definite advantages for your brain when you write long hand versus typing on a computer or phone. Any search engine will provide valuable info on this topic.
For this swap, you will learn about and write Morning Pages each day for one week, from February 1 to February 7, 2021.
After the week is done, write your partner a note, including a few sentences about how you felt doing this and any benefits you noticed, as well as any plans you have for continuing this practice or not continuing it. By February 15, mail your note to your partner.
It’s a Type 3 swap because you’ll be going an activity daily, even though you are only send flat mail.
I will review all profiles and reserve the right to ban any swapper who would detract from swappers having a good outcome.
I am joining a 13-week group that will study this book, “The Artist’s Way”. Group details are HERE. The group starts on February 9.
