I've never seen a swap like this on here, so I thought I'd give it a try. This swap is for handmade God's Eye Weavings. The Ojo de Dios, or God's Eye, is a simple weaving made across two sticks and is thought to have originated with the Huichol Indians of Jalisco, Mexico. Here are a some sites with history of this weaving and instructions: http://www.e-scoutcraft.com/string/eyeofgod.html http://www.caron-net.com/kidfiles/kidsapr.html http://www.christiancrafters.com/craft_godseye.html You will have TWO partners and make them ONE handmade weaving each. A good size for them will be about 3 to 5 inches. Color is your choice, or check your partners profile if you'd like to use colors they like. Decorate or adorn as you envision your God's Eye should be. PLEASE BE AWARE if your partner is International - you will NOT be permitted to send WOOD to some countries - New Zealand and Australia are two that I know of for sure that cannot receive items made from wood. In this case, you could use plastic toothpicks or swizzle sticks or something along those lines. Just please don't chance it and send wood, as I'd hate to see your hard work confiscated by customs. This swap is for swappers with a rating of 4.9 or higher, at least 3 rated crafty swaps (mailed swaps), and no swaps outstanding more than 7 days at the close of the signup period. Your account must be active, meaning you've signed in during the week before the close of the signup period. I will be looking carefully at any "ones" or "threes" on your account. If you see that there are questionable swappers signed up for this swap, please let me know. Questions, comments, to get a quicker response, please use the contact link next to my user name above. |
