Description:

Hello, fellow ATC creators! I'd like to invite you to join me in a monthly Tic Tac Toe challenge. “What in the world is that?!”, you wonder. Let me explain…

Each month I’ll show you a tic tac toe grid filled with ideas for making an ATC. Similar to the tic tac toe game with X’s and O’s, you will pick three in a row to use on your ATC; you can pick a vertical, horizontal or diagonal row as long as they are in a straight line. For example, using the grid above you might choose modeling paste, die cut, metal (vertical) OR metal, bakers twine, found object (diagonal).

Standard ATC rules apply…

Size: 2.5” x 3.5”

Sturdy backing

Send something that you’d rather keep for yourself (i.e. do your best work)

Info on the back: your name/swapper name, date, swap name, ATC title (optional)

Please refrain from rude, lewd, political, religious statements or images (unless your recipient specifically states they’re into that sort of thing). Let’s keep it friendly and welcoming.

Orientation and theme are totally up to you (it’s a good idea to check your recipient’s profile though).

Life happens…please communicate with your partner if you’re not able to send on time. If something happens and you can’t complete the swap, please let me know. I’ll angel.

Have fun!

Sorry about the rotten image resolution...

Top Row: modeling paste - circle(s) - found object

Middle Row: die cut - baker's twine - acrylic paint

Bottom Row: Metal - stamped image - vintage

Thanks for saying what the images say, and thanks for hosting!

Cute idea. Not sure yet if I'll be able to participate this round but hope you offer more.

Hey! Awesome idea! Love it!

Brilliant idea, love it! I'm trying not to commit to too much in January after a hectic December so I don't know yet if I'll join this one, but am definitely up for future rounds! One question - what's modelling paste?

Itti 01/ 6/2022 #

Sorry, another question too - I've seen "found object" in a lot of swaps but I don't really know what it means. All I can think of is like a penny you've found on the ground or something. Can you give some examples?

I hope to offer this every month (with different prompts), Itti and wolfeagle. Modeling paste is an opaque acrylic medium that is thick and spreadable. Very similar (the same even??) to texture paste or embossing paste. Often people use it through stencils or to get 3D effects/texture on their artwork.

Here is a link to an ATC I made a year or so ago using the top row of prompts: https://www.flickr.com/photos/elvesintheattic/51064626777/in/dateposted-public/
