this is an international swap***

these days everyone has alot of worries.....why not give those worries away to little worry dolls? the belief is that each nite before bed you tell your worry to these tiny dolls and they take them away:)

make 3 worry dolls for 1 partner. (more if you so desire:) and a little something for your partner to keep them in. (i.e. a matchbox that has been decorated, a little basket or a tiny hand sewn pouch)dress them as you choose.

for instruction on how to make them just google "worry dolls"

****no one with ratings of less than 4.5, blank profiles or 3+ no sends need apply.....newbies welcome but please leave a note of introduction below in the forum for everyone to see.

2 links to make worry dolls...

you can use matches or bag ties or pipe cleaners......there are some clothes pin versions out there...THIS SWAP IS NOT FOR THE CLOTHES PIN WORRY DOLLS

it is for the original sized worry dolls (no more than 2 inches tall max)

please feel free to dress your dolls as you choose, it can be simple embroidery thread or tiny fabric scraps made into clothes...sewn or glued on, they can or can not have faces......you decide:)

enjoy

*please post questions below

This sounds like fun and addicting. I can see myself getting carried away making whole villages of worriers. Thanks for letting a newbie like me join in the fun!!

Do these have to be homemade? I see you can purchase them on eBay, and I would be willing to buy one for my partner... If not, I might try to make one myself anyway, as they seem rather simple...

Too fun! What a wonderful way to get rid of the worries!

user7247 04/18/2007 #

Oh how fun!! I used to have these when I was a child and forgot all about them until now!!! Count me in!

Hello Im SharonF I am looking forward to send the "worry dolls" off. I will be a good newbie!

threesweetpeas 04/18/2007 #

well, i prefer homemade butf that stops you from joining in the fun, then you can purchase some, its ok:)

Hi, I made my dolls according to the toothpick pattern and they are 2 3/4 inches tall... Is that okay? I don't want to break the rules but I saw it said no more than 2 inches!

threesweetpeas 04/21/2007 #

of course joy!

I've a couple of links for those who need some inspiration with their worry dolls. The angel worry doll is so cute! A tiny little guardian angel to soothe our worries.

This sounds like a wonderful swap. I can't wait to get started on making these cute little worry takers.

I want to make sure I do this right...we're to make worry dolls out of toothpicks, right? NOT the clothespin version, correct?

I've been practicing -- and am all thumbs but this is too much fun! :)

threesweetpeas 05/ 1/2007 #

correct!!!!!!!
