I totally stole the idea for this swap from another Swap Bot Group that I am in, so thank you for the inspiration! For this swap we will make 5 faux postage stamps for one partner. This is really fun and simple. I used coffee dyed paper as my backing and cut it into smallish squares and rectangles using some decorative edged scissors. My "stamps" averaged about 1.5 inches square, give or take. I then cut some pieces of vintage book pages to layer on top of my base layer. Edge both your base layer and your book page edges with Vintage Photo ink or something similar to give them a vintage feel if you like that look. Next step was to attach a fussy cut image - butterfly, mushroom, flower, etc to the center of each "Stamp". You can also use stickers or any other die cut images that you like. I finished these off by stamping them with a couple of stamps from my postage set - one was the cancellation lines and the other a postmark. So easy and so many places you could use these in your junk journal or as an embellishment for any other projects you have going. Any questions about how to make these, please message me. And have fun!! |
