Description:

Many of us may be tired of all these celebrations so traditional around the change of year. But maybe a non-traditional holiday would help against that?

Check this Bizarre and Unique Holidays' calendar and choose 3-5 options - what would you like to celebrate in January. List these in swap comments.
Please try to choose sufficiently bizarre holidays for your list, not something for which you could easily get a store-bought card - just some light-hearted fun.
While you don't have to post your chosen holidays before signing up or right after, you must have done so by sign-up deadline so that everyone would be able to start working on their cards at once.

Once the partners have been assigned, check the comments to see what holidays your partner listed, choose one of these, and create a folded greeting card.
Any medium is allowed to make this card. You may create your card as a collage or scrapbook style, you may draw or paint, you may use a photo you have taken, or any other way, or all of above as long as the result is a greeting card suitable for one of the occasions your partner chose. The only thing you shouldn't do is to send a storebought card (you may start with a new or used storebought card as the base, but it must be modified enough for the end result to count as handmade). Of course your card may be as bizarre as you want as well!

Write inside your greetings and send the card off in an envelope, just as you'd do with any other holiday.
Don't forget to mention your username and swap name somewhere, either on card itself or in an additional letter/note/swap-card/post-it/whatever.

If you want to post a list, put each item on a new row that starts with a * and space ("* item"). If there's any other text before or after list, leave an empty row between that and list.

And if you want to redo your list either because of content or format, no worries - post a new comment and PM me to delete the old one.

I would like to celebrate in January one of these holidays:

  • Houseplant Appreciation Day
  • Appreciate a Dragon Day
  • Winnie the Pooh Day
  • Penguin Awareness Day
  • Squirrel Appreciation Day

This will be a lot of fun! I tried to pick a couple that will be easier and a couple that will be more challenging.
* Learn your name in Morse Code day.
* Peculiar people day.
* Bubble wrap appreciation day.
* Inspire your heart with art day.
