If you like to send and receive postcards from around the world, then this is the swap for you!

Edited You should send 1 postcard to each partner. NO envelopes. Write on the postcard, put a stamp on it and send it through the mail properly.

Edited Postcards should be of ANY PLACE from ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. They can be scenic, landscapes, city views, etc. but NOT animals, homemade, art or ad cards, etc.

Newbies & international swappers welcome!

DISCLAIMER As the coordinator, I reserve the right to ban any questionable swappers. This may mean that you have unexplained poor ratings, or have been considered a flaker in past swaps.

Because I have hosted and participated in numerous swaps, I take it personally when my swappers don't fulfill their end of the bargain by flaking on such simple swaps like this.

Can the postcards all be from our area, or do they have to be from all over?

atinagrace 04/23/2009 #

Good questrion??? I have been collecting postcards to be able to have lots on hand...

onlyincambodia 04/24/2009 #

Note from the Coordinator

Certainly, postcards can be from your area, just as long as they are not animals, etc.

chuysgirl 04/25/2009 #

Where do we check to join the swap? I don't see it here.

onlyincambodia 04/25/2009 #

Click on Join Swap at the bottom of the swap description to join the swap.

Kristin82 04/25/2009 #

I've already joined this but I meant to ask: How many postcards are we supposed to send to each partner? 1 naked to each or X amount in an envie to each? Please let us know. Thanks =)

onlyincambodia 04/26/2009 #

Note from the Coordinator

I have edited the description of the swap to include how many postcards to send to each partner.

Debbie 04/30/2009 #

I have a question ... How is he to whom I send the postcard, how do I know the address where the shipment?. Thank you.

ladydy5 05/ 2/2009 #

After May 17th I believe the coordinator will tell you to check the right side of this swap and you will see "partners to send to" click on it and you get the names and addresses.

marineko 05/ 3/2009 #

I haven't been on swapbot for ages and this is the perfect swap to get me sending postcards again :D

johaha111 05/ 7/2009 #

I just joined. I am going somewhere rather exotic the week the partners are assigned so I am going to send mine from there. I am sure to find beautiful cards for all to enjoy.

ourhomelearning 05/ 7/2009 #

I'm excited! This is my first swap with Swap-Bot. I'm looking forward to it, and hopefully I will use the system correctly!

Salgal 05/ 7/2009 #

I am new to this swap but can't wait to do it. I hope sending something arty (I know, no animals) is ok since I live in a small Southern California beach town. We have no postcards of our city but I did find some cool other ones. Any comment on this?

ButterflyPrincess 05/ 7/2009 #

oh man I have cute monkey one's. Oh poo. But I have lots of others. lol

onlyincambodia 05/ 7/2009 #

Message from the coordinator

Please note that the POSTCARDS MUST BE FROM A PLACE, not just any "cool-looking" postcard. You can save those for another fun swap!

nannie8 05/10/2009 #

I got my postcards form around maine , lighthouses stuff like that I hope thats ok

Jananini 05/10/2009 #

Hello, can the postcards be photos turned into postcards or do they have to be actual storebought postcards?

onlyincambodia 05/11/2009 #

Note from the coordinator

Postcards may be made from photos, or you can send store bought postcards.

estromberg 05/11/2009 #

I like mine store bought, written and stamped! Thanks!!

Jenzeestyle 05/11/2009 #

i love any kind of postcards, but if you want to make it of a pretty photo youve taken thatd be amazing too.

mamajoy 05/12/2009 #

Aren't postcards made from photos "handmade"? I would like store bought please.

Maggiesmother 05/12/2009 #

I like mine sstore boght - thanks

organiccupcakes 05/14/2009 #

dancing I love getting mail...and I LOVE postcards! SO MUCH FUN!

slamophile 05/14/2009 #

Yes, I'm wondering about that, too, mamajoy.

In the description of this swap, it says "not homemade" but, in this chat area, onlyincambodia is saying that you can use photos.

So.. to me, that is handmade.

Now.. I am confused!

Please clarify this query, onlyincambodia ~ Thanks!

Inga 05/15/2009 #

I would think postcards made from photos are not handmade but they are also not store bought. So, they kinda dont apply to any of the descriptions. Sometimes postcards made from pics are awesome!

julieditor 05/15/2009 #

How do we get partners assigned?

onlyincambodia 05/16/2009 #

Message from the coordinator

I am allowing photos to be used as postcards because they lend themselves nicely to being a postcard. When I think of handmade, I picture scraps of paper glued to cardboard in mosaic fashion, which can be rather tacky.

If you prefer store bought postcards, then mention your preference here.

onlyincambodia 05/16/2009 #

To julieditor

Partners are assigned after the last day to sign-up: May 17. You should be able to see your assigned partners no later than May 19.

organiccupcakes 05/16/2009 #

Would postcards from a specific event in the area be acceptable? They have the date the event occurred, and various photos from it as well.

Salgal 05/16/2009 #

I would like store bought please, Salgal

onlyincambodia 05/17/2009 #

to organiccupcakes

As long as the event identifies a particular place or location, then that postcard should be fine.

organiccupcakes 05/17/2009 #

I am so excited for tomorrow! My postcards are all ready, they just need addresses and proper postage! :)

whatsherface 05/18/2009 #

All done and Im sending them out tomorrow! Its a holiday in Canada today :) I got assigned a very serious postcard collector, so I'm finally giving away one of my postcards I got in Cuba! I also found several wonderful old postcards from different countrys at a thrift store, look in your thrift store postcard collectors!!!

TEECEE 05/18/2009 #

i want store brought plz no hand made :) thank you

MrsAnnaSue 05/19/2009 #

Store-bought for me as well... thank you!

daarhon 05/20/2009 #

I'm really sorry, may be my question is stupid, but... What should I write on postcard to help people identify postcard as mine (besides my words to partner)? My address? Or my username will be enough? Name of group? I'm newbie =)))))

MissWorld 05/20/2009 #

daarhon, I usually write my name followed by my username between brackets and on the side of the postcard, I write the swap name (just in case the person is in other swaps or if it takes a while to get there).

Hope that helps. :)

ourhomelearning 05/20/2009 #

My postcards are out the door! My goal was to find something special for each person. Hopefully I made it!

whatsherface 06/18/2009 #

:( 4 or 5 people still havent sent theirs yet... Ims till waiting on my last one :(

TigerLily6 09/11/2009 #
