Description:

For this swap you will send a tea related item (it doesnt have to be actual tea, just tea related) then, here's the fun part, create your very own teabag! It's very easy to make, I just opened an actual teabag to see how it was folded and learned that way. But, it has to be the kind of teabag with the string and tag, so you'll create the tag too. Next, fill the teabag with something nice, for example beads, buttons, sequins, gems, stickers or anything you can fit into it (kinda like a whimsy bag :) since teabags are pretty small you can you can make it larger if you'd like (but it's not a requirement). So to recap, you'll be sending a random tea related item (seperate from the teabag), and a handmade teabag filled with goodies (don't forget the tea tag). If your swap meets these requirements, you should receive a 5. Newbies welcome with detailed profile. I hope I gave a good explaination of this swap, sometimes I make things more complicated than they actually are. So if there are any questions, please feel free to comment so that I can make this a fun and easy swap :D

This is an awesome idea and I can't wait to get started!

what should the tea bag be made out of?!

llaspina 04/28/2009 #

I used a thicker, kinda waxy tissue paper two ply-ed. If you go to joann fabrics or hobby lobby theyll even give you some free (scraps). Or you can use paper or that fiber-y paper :)

would felt be okay??

Felt might be a bit hard to fold. But if you can make it work, then that would be wonderful!

Ooooo! This sounds SO cute! I am so excited to do it! I would never think to make a teabag and fill it with fun things. And I love how this is pretty open-ended! Good idea! Thank you so much!
