Let’s create Stationery

One of my favorite things to do is to make custom stationery to send letters. We’re going to create two pages to send to our partner, one blank for them to use, and one written on to include in their journal.

Start with a piece of paper, minimum size of 5.5 inches by 7 inches - no maximum size. Use whatever you like, lined or unlined, but be sure that it will eventually look like something your character would use.

Now the fun part is to decorate it so that is looks amazing. You can use tea/coffee dye, distress inks, watercolor paints, etc. to achieve a vintage look. Add to the edges, top and bottom, a decorative element. Stencils, stickers, napkins, rub-ons, hand-drawn or painted designs, even digital decoupage. Be sure to not get too carried away and leave room in the center for writing!

Once both of your papers are ready, use one to write to your partner in character. You could write a newsy letter, find a poem to copy, a especially meaningful quote, something your partner will be pleased to receive. It would look especially nice if penned with quill and ink, but a beautifully printed or typewritten page is acceptable.
