Description:

An Elfchen is a short poem about a theme. It’s similar to an Haiku and it hasn’t to rhyme. It has all together 11 words. That’s where the name comes from: “Little Eleven” = “Elfchen” in German.

In Germany you learn to write those short poems in school.

Here are the composition rules:

First line: 1 word (that’s your theme - what the Elfchen is about. It can be a nome or an adjective)

Second line: 2 words (short description of that first word/your theme)

Third line: 3 words (something that happens related to your theme)

Fourth line: 4 words (how do you feel about that?)

Fifth line: 1 word (a word that gives it some kind of closure or just some word that fits to end the Elfchen with)

I will give you an example:

Snow

White flakes

Paints trees white

Frozen happiness to play

Joyful

For the swap: You pick a theme. Totally your choice! You write an “Elfchen” and pick a picture related to your “Little Eleven” and post both of it on your partners profile comments section. Don’t forget to mention the name of the swap.

If there are German swappers participating in this swap and you get a German speaking swap partner as well then you can do the Elfchen in German. :)

How to post a picture: To post an image you need to use the following code without spaces and right click on the image you want to use (NO bigger than 300 x 300), click on -copy image address- and paste between the parentheses.

All swappers - all ratings and Newbies are welcome! I will angel if necessary. :)

Please rate your partners and have fun!
