Hey! I am a tattoo apprentice and I'm working on my flash! I'd love to swap with others that might be interested!! Happy to do this as a private swap or public if there are a few people interested! If you're not sure what it is: Tattoo flash is any tattoo design that is pre-prepared for customers to avoid the need for custom designs, or as a starting point for custom work. Tattoo flash was designed for rapid tattooing and used in "street shops"—tattoo shops that handle a large volume of standardized tattoos for walk-in customers. Pieces of flash are traditionally drawn or printed on paper, and displayed for walk-in customers in binders or on the walls of tattoo shops. The term "flash" is derived from the traveling carnival and circus trade in the late 1800s: an attraction needed to be eye-catching to draw in the crowd, and that visual appeal was called flash. Tattoo artists working at those carnivals would hang up their designs in front of their booths to catch people's attention, so they adopted "flash" as a term for this artwork. My flash sheets are between 8x10 and 9x12 with 2 - 10 designs depending on the size of images I'd like to include. I tend to theme my designs on the sheet. Right now I'm working on American Traditional and Neo-Traditional. Options are: - color photocopies of multiple sheets sent to multiple partners - original, hand drawn copies of 1 or 2 sheets to a single partner - emailed or file transfer of high resolution images that can be printed out by the recipient Maybe throw in some stickers or extras for fun! Let's talk in the comments and decide together. |
