principeta 06/ 3/2009 #

How many ball of yarn and how big?

honeybknits 06/ 3/2009 #

a skein. a good measure is enough to make a one skein project. One time I was given such a small amount I couldn't do anything with it. I think it was half a skein :( That was bad. So what does everybody think about when they think of summer- lately I have been thinking about the three-color popsicles. I saw a blend of pink- yellow and orange. it screamed summer! So how bout' you-

Moomooo 06/ 3/2009 #

I will join this one and i think that to be fair a skein should be at least a 8 ounce skein of yarn that will be enought to make some thing with it... I Personally would like to receive any of Red hearts worsted weight yarn I love Vairegated more than solids ... hugs Lillibet

spin 06/ 4/2009 #

Oh I think of watermelon, since we just had some the other day... I am not a popsickle kind-a-gal... Sunglasses, sun, swimming and picknicks are my summer routine... Sarongs!!!! (I wear them almost all year round as shawls and such, but they say summer to me) Daisies! :) definitely!

As to the yarn: I am a lace knitter. I usually use thin yarns...up to about fingering weight, I also knit socks :) and dishcloths! So cotton will be just fine too!

Colours: depends on what you want to send...for lace yarn rather mellow colours and earth tones, as for the socks and dishcloths: the brighter the better! (please no red though...got too much of it here! LOL) I don't mind acrylic, the kids can use it in projects but if you intend it for me... rather not... In general I am always happy to receive something! It's cool to get something other then a bill in the mail! LOL

Happy summer swapping! :)

spin 06/ 4/2009 #

P.S. thanks for taking a chance on me! :)

honeybknits 06/ 4/2009 #

moomoo- yes that would be a good way to judge. thanks for the tip.

spin 06/ 5/2009 #

I have finished the "ball" part, now on tho the "surroundings" LOL

itsbettertoknit 06/ 7/2009 #

How many grams in a ball? Our yarn is in grams not oz.

honeybknits 06/ 7/2009 #

it's better to knit- check out one skein projects online or a conversion chart. If you can't find out any info let me know. :)

auntjudy 06/ 9/2009 #

I am collecting some sock yarn, to make the plus size sweater in Crochet Magazine last issue. I love all colors so any is fine. I crochet and knit both. I rather crochet. auntjudy

honeybknits 06/11/2009 #

yes you add several items to the "wrapped" up yarn ball. Oh I like vanna's choice too. Pretty good for an inexpensive yarn and kudos to those who did the questions. I appreciate it and your partner will too. auntjudy can I get a link to the sweater- I am very interested. :) ty

I actually don't knit or crochet.. but I still love magic yarn balls! Novelty yarn or other types of fiber would be most useful to me for the crafts I do (to make into tassels/trim for art dolls, dotees, altered books, etc.), though I can always give "real" yarn to my MIL or nursing home ladies! I like warm colors (red, gold, orange, pink, yellowy-greens) or brown, but whatever you have on hand is fine!

honeybknits 06/15/2009 #

hydro YES fibers for scrapping and papercrafts I totally forgot that. :)

Do you knit crochet or both- I knit and have a very basic knowledge of crochet.

honeybknits 06/18/2009 #

hydro75 06/19/2009 #

Um... I'm confused. The listing on my dashboard says partners haven't been assigned... ?

itsbettertoknit 06/19/2009 #

Favourite colour blue, but also love varicated threads in any colour. I am a knitter. I can knit almost anything but due to disruption latly been knitting cotton dishcloths. Quick and easy. One day would like to try knitting socks but can't seem to find sock yarn here. Any suggestions on where I can order some that ships to australia?

honeybknits 06/19/2009 #

ok I am sorry I am the one who is confused lol. I thought as swap mom I would have to do all this myself and I sent out swap-partners round robin style as I would do for other swaps I have swap-mommed. I didn't get the face that the computer does it for us. swapbot name should've helped me figure this out ha ha. well anyhow. I am waiting for info back from admin to see if we can keep our partners or not. Anyhow forgive me and I will have this sorted out- please- honeybknits.

honeybknits 06/19/2009 #

ok I guess they are deciding who is sending to who. So I just jumped ahead. This is easier than any swap I ever did. Though I wonder who do we know it's a good match- well I guess we'll just wait and see.

ScullyB 06/22/2009 #
