Description:

Amigurumi is a japanese crochet style in which you crochet tightly to create little stuffed toys. Often these are cute little animals, but you can stick eyes on almost anything and make it look cute.

In this swap you will send one medium sized (About 8 inches tall) or two small (4 to 5 inches) amigurumi softies to your partner. As is most traditional, these should be crocheted and not knitted.

There are a number of free patterns available on the internet, but you can also buy patterns from independent designers for a great price! Since the cost of this swap is likely to be low (a little yarn and a lot of time) I encourage everyone to shop around for a cute pattern that their partner might like. Etsy is my favorite place for amigurumi patterns (check out a few of my favorites: anapaulaoli and needlenoodles ). Sellers will email you the pattern soon after you order it, so you can get started in no time.Of course, You are welcome to use your own patterns as well!

For more inspiration and ideas, check out the flickr amigurumi group .

And here are a few free patterns to get you started. (Feel free to comment with more!)

This is an international swap for swappers with ratings of 4 or above. If you are a newbie and would like to participate, please contact me or I will have to boot you from the swap. There is plenty of time between getting your partner and sending your softies, but make sure that you have enough time to commit to making an item by hand.
