Description:

For this swap you will be making one glue book for one partner. Basically you collage, decorate each page. It’s sort of like making a scrapbook page. For this swap each page of the glue book will be decorated with holiday themes. You will list your two favorite holidays below.

Three to five pages will be decorated with your favorite holiday. The remaining pages will be decorated with your partners favorite holiday. For example my favorite holiday is Christmas. Say my partner was Debi and she listed Halloween and Easter as her favorite holidays. The first 3 to 5 pages of my glue book would be decorated with a Christmas theme and the remaining pages would be decorated with Halloween and Easter themes.

You will be decorating a total of 20 pages - the front side only. You can decorate more if you’d like, but the minimum is 20. This is a big project so plenty of time will be given to complete it. Keep in mind that you can decorate the pages in a number of ways - drawing, painting, collaging, glitter, embellishments, etc. Be creative and have fun! That’s the point of this. In the end we’ll all have a nice book of our partners creativity to look over again and again.

The journal or notebook size you use to make your glue book is up to you. You can even handmake one if you’d like. All I ask is that you not choose something extremely tiny.

If you have any questions just ask. Have fun and be creative!

**The picture used in the swap description is from a glue book someone made for me last year and will give you an idea of what glue books are like.

This one is tough, but I'll say my two favorite holidays are Christmas and Valentine's Day. :)

can we use a small scrapbook? can we use pictures we've taken of holidays?

mine are Christmas and 4th of July but...when i do the book i only pic 1 of my fav holidays...right?

StarryNights 07/11/2009 #

Yes, you can use a small scrapbook. You can definitely use pictures you've taken for the first 3 - 5 pages. The remaining pages should be decorated though. Pictures can be added to them that you took if they were, say something like a christmas light display you or something that you took.

Yes, you only pick 1 of your favorite holidays.

k- i'm confusing myself - so what's new!!

not sure what the theme was in the book you show above but...looks like you have pics printed and music sheet printed or...did you draw all that stuff - if you did I'M SCREWED - NO TALENT when it comes to drawing!!!!!!!!! or...can i print out stuff to use as pictures - and 'beautify"? i'm probably making this harder than it really is!! or can i use pics of holiday if they work for partners holiday - you said i could use for my fav holiday pages or christmas lights..........

just don't to screw up!!

can i use parts of old cards if they fit the theme??

MP 07/19/2009 #

ok...me again (i heard that collective GEEZ!!)

i've researched glue books all weekend and i think i've FINALLY got it!?

there can be as little or as much on the page in any fashion as long as it sticks with the theme...is that right? some of them are pretty fancy smanchy - hope nana deb won't be too disappointed when mine arrives LOL

StarryNights 07/20/2009 #

Hey MP, yes you can put what you like on the pages as long as it follows the theme. Some are fancy and some are more simple. Do your best and have fun. Don't get all worked up about it. I'm sure Debi will love yours. :)
