Description:

So this swap is like the "From My Hands to Yours" swaps but with a kawaii twist. The items we make for our partners all have to be kawaii. The first one has been so fun I think there should be a round two.

For this swap you will have two partners you will make one item for each and these items have to be kawaii. It can be a change purse, a softie, a keychain,...things like that. There is no price limit on this swap but please don't just slap a sticker on a piece of paper and say it's stationary. No junk please! Take some time and look at your partner's profile and try making something really nice for them. We have alot of talented crafters here! I am giving alot of time on this swap so you all have time to make some wonderful things for your partners. And if you don't know what kawaii is, than this isn't the swap for you.

Now for the rules: This swap is international. You will have two partners to send to. Only swappers with ratings of 4.5 or higher can participate and I reserve the right to ban people at my discretion if things look dodgy.

Hi!

Do they need to be fabric/stuffed related? Or can they also be matchboxes and say handmade postcards/ATC's?

ellawitch 05/25/2007 #

i don't see why not if it would be something your partner would like.

so are we not allowed to make stationery, or was that just the example used for not being cheapskates?

I have great ideas for making cute pencils and stationery, but I can't sew.. and so the keychain/softie/change purse ideas don't help much.

no, the items don't have to be sewn exclusively. i have seen people make magnets, crochet little creatures, decorate boxes, make picture frames, make jewelry and a number of other ideas that don't involve sewing. and than some people do sew things.

with that being said though, i don't want people sending junk. and i do want people spending a little time crafting something wonderful for their partner(s). hope that helps!

I participated in the first From my Hands Kawaii Style swap and I definitely did not sew anything. I made polymer clay jewelry for each of my partners. One was an Onigiri necklace and the other was a My Melody pin. I just thought that I'd give you all another idea of something to make for this swap.

whew! This one kinda snuck up on me. If we do this again could we have a little more time between when partners are assigned and stuff has to be mailed? I like to have enough time to customize a based on my partner's interests....

kittenmeowmeow 06/ 8/2007 #
