is it ok to ask for a half yard of fabric instead of 2 fat quarters? If that's ok I would love to join! I'll watch for now!

OMG I saw the word Polka Dots! lol.... def. watching this swap!

Awesome idea! I would love to join but I am nervous about newbies. I have only done a few swaps and have been flaked on twice by newbies :( Maybe if they had at least 5 rated swaps.

renees - how about 2 FQs of the same fabric? I have very little 1/2 - 1 yd pcs of polka dot fabric or stripes in my stash.

Oh I'm in! I LOVE Polka Dots! I have several I can use to send FQ's or I can indulge myself and buy new fabric. At the only store in town (no car) you have to buy 1 yd minimum, which means i'd be forced to keep the rest for myself. "oh well" I guess I'd just have to put up with the extra fabric, LOL!

It seems to me that if you have a half yard and cut it in two you have two fat quarters, right? The last one turned out lovely for me, thanks, lets do it again.

Are we able to send 1/2 yrd or MUST it be 2 fat quarters?

bettflow09 07/28/2009 #

That's right @ladydy5 Take 1/2 yard of fabric and cut it in half across the fold and you will have 2 fqs:) A fq is approximately 18" x 22".

This swap is for 2 different fqs (each must be different) unless your partner agrees that she would like to receive 1/2 continuous yard. It doesn't hurt to ask for 1/2 yard if you would like, but there is no guarantee that your partner will send 1/2 continuous yard. That will be entirely up to your partner.

I am very sorry that I'm running a little behind in assigning partners. I have been out of town and just got home at 1:00 a.m. 7/3 Partners will be assigned later today without fail after I get some sleep:)) Thankyou for your patience:))
