Hi all, Someone else is doing this as a general swap here at SwapBot, but I thought it would be fun to do it with a group where we know each other a little better.

So here is the idea. You will keep a journal for 30 days with things that you wish for. Write at least a short paragraph. For example: I wish I could swim with dolphins.... Or maybe, I wish I could have been a ballerina. Or even, I wish I could travel to a planet in another solar system. Your wishes can be 'wherever your imagination takes you.' If possible, this should be a hand-written journal. You can type it, if you are more comfortable with that, or if our handwriting is as unreadable as mine. LOL. But don't just type some stuff on a plain white sheet of paper. Make it fancy. You could also include pictures, postcards, etc. Like I might use a postcard of dolphins for my 'swim with a dolphin' wish.

Anyone in the group is welcome to join.

You can use a small store-bought, or a handmade journal. Decorate your journal and make it really nice for your partner. Use stickers, doodle, draw, color.. whatever.

Mostly have fun.

Sounds really nice to do. But also sounds like something I would like to keep for myself. LOL

Maybe you could make duplicates of all the pages. Then you can send one away and keep one. And since no two pages will be totally identical, you get to send the one you want and keep the one you want.

okay, so this will be for the calendar month of August . . . I'll do it.

I like this idea. I joined the other swap but I think I'll join this one and drop the other because, as you say, we all know each other a little. Also I am often not that interested in some of the thing I get from from much younger swappers -- been there, done that and really don't relate all that well. I'm in.

So, the Author and the Librarian are in, I'm a little intimidated, but game. I think keeping 2 will be a good thing, these swaps make us take time to reflect in a way I would not be disciplined enough to write down, so I would like to keep one too.

I also feel a bit intimidated(no lots)actually I am scared spitless. But I have decided I must do things that are out of may comfort zone-so saying that, I apoligize for what I am about to do. A whole month-yes, I can do this.

Me too! I am used to just "getting what I get" and not lookng too hard into the future or to want things very much because it usually does not come out the way I want - or thought I wanted. Anyway, making a list like this - journal style -will help me (I hope) focus on some things I might like to do or see while I am still here - and hopefully still be able to enjoy. Mine will have a lot of typed additions to the journal - my last journal was "unreadable" per my Serbian partner - though I did add a lot of magazine pics and rubber stamped images t help offset my handwritten bits. This one should be fun!

I really want to do this, but my August is pretty full right now. I worry I won't do a really good job because I won't have as much time as I need.
