Description: | |
These little dolls are so cute and just seem to be showing up everywhere. They first showed up on Swap-bot back in April when @Mojo ran a swap to make them. The interest in them has grown lately This swap is to make and send one string doll of your creation to your partner. This is sender's choice, if you wish to tailor it to your partner's profile you may do so, but it is not required. The concept of making string dolls is easy enough to understand, though it does take a little practice. The body and head are made from one continuous piece of 100% cotton string. I would suggest using 4-ply worsted kitchen cotton or similar cotton. I tried using the smaller crochet thread and mercerized cotton and found them difficult to work with. Please do not use acrylic yarn. Add clothes, accessories, etc as needed. Make sure you leave a hanger on it (you will find this in the instructions) Here are the basic instructions Here are some more detailed instructions I found the detailed instructions on the web and saved them to my computer, but I do not know the source any longer, so I have put them in a web album so that everyone can use them. Rules and StuffEveryone must have:
...a completed profile Newbies must also have: If I need to remove anybody from the swap, I will be doing so after sign-up has finished, but before I assign partners and will be very thoroughly checking profiles at this time. If you don't plan on sending, don't join! Lastly, get creative and have fun ! |
