Description:

Hi, I've never held a swap, so I thought I'd do an easy one with a twist :)

For this swap, you get to send 5 different ribbons to 1 partner.

Each ribbon MUST NOT be longer than 20 inches (or 50 cm), and each ribbon must have a different color or pattern. The minimum length is 14 inches (35 cm). They can be any width. Ribbons may be sent on rolls, as long as they meet the length requirements.

This is sender's choice, unless you have a ribbon perfect for you partner, then go ahead and send that. If you'd like to send more than 5, go ahead! 1 week should be long enough for this swap :D

Everybody without 1's or no sends is allowed! Happy swapping!

Is there a minimum length for the pieces?

SugarVixen 08/11/2009 #

must not be longer? so 20" or less, am I reading this correctly? (just making sure ^-^;)

hobolandunited 08/11/2009 #

Ah, sorry I will ad the minimum length, it is 14 inches (35 cm). Yes, it is 20 inches or less.

KarinB 08/11/2009 #

OK, so between 14 and 20 inches then! Sounds easy enough, and cheap to mail too! I'm in! :)

I love ribbons! Especially Grossgrain!!! I like to make bows for my daughter!

jessicakan 08/13/2009 #

Must these be cloth ribbons only?

EQNex 08/13/2009 #

Can't wait to receive beautiful ribbons - prefer only the cotton variety, no plastic or synthetics please. Love if they were embossed or have prints on them. Thanks!

hobolandunited 08/13/2009 #

@jessicakan Yes, these must be cloth ribbons. Sorry if this inconveniences anyone ^_^''

Question: I can understand no plastic ribbon like the type you would wrap a present with, but what do you mean no synthetics? Does that exclude satins anv velvets too? Just curious because I make some awesome dye transfers on satin and it looks as though the photo shown is satin ribbon as well. I also have some beautiful ribbon from France that are on strung on a wire of miniature flowers. I am thinking it could be silk, but not sure. So are you thinking cotton only? Anyway, let me know so I have time to bow out.

hobolandunited 08/16/2009 #

@needlewings Satin, cotton, and grossgrain ribbons are what I was thinking of. Velvet is fine, as well as the dye transfer satin you were talking about. You can send the ribbon from France if you like, I'm sure someone would be happy to receive it either way :)

JavaJunkie 08/16/2009 #

Is some lace ribbon allowed? I don't think I have any cotton ribbon, so hobolandunited please don't assign me that partner lol! This sounds fun. I would LOVE some velvet ribbon! :))

DRTheisen 08/16/2009 #

I'm a little confused by the plastic/synthetic ribbons. I have made hairbows for years so am familiar with grosgrain, and I also have lots of other kinds, but I am not sure if they fall in the synthetic category. I will just wait to see who my swap partner is and ask questions of her if needed. :) I love alllll types of ribbon and think the lace, satins and velvets sound wonderful!!

hobolandunited 08/17/2009 #

@JavaJunkie Sure, lace ribbon would be perfectly fine ^_^

Any fun ribbon that was made for crafts would be great!
