What better way to get into the mood of the season than by playing some holiday music while you create a delicious holiday treat? :) Let's share some of our favorite Christmas/Winter/Holiday themed songs and recipes! For this swap you will be assigned 1 partner for whom you will send 2 things: A Mix CD and recipe. Mix CD: This will be a music CD which will consist of your favorite songs, or songs you think your partner might enjoy, that are Christmas/Winter/Holiday themed (some classic examples are Sleigh Ride or Winter Wonderland). There are various covers of classic holiday songs and plenty of new ones out there so have fun picking them! You will also decorate the CD case with a holiday theme as best as you can. This way the CD can look nice for your partner! Also make sure to include a track list. Recipe: You will create one recipe card with a favorite holiday treat. It can be something to cook or bake such as pies, cookies, or gingerbread men. Or maybe you prefer to include your favorite hot cocoa recipe. Anything tasty and holiday related! The recipe card can be a big index card, but it has to be decorated! For example you can include a picture of your recipe. You can join this swap as long as you have no recent 1's or 3's (past 2 months). I will also go through profiles and ban potential flakers. Please no flaking. The holidays are a time of kindness, sharing, and joy... and for some of us they can get stressful enough so we don't need any funny business. -_- Have fun with this guys! Just want to throw it out there that hearts don't have to come from extras. A really well done swap can earn a heart just as well as a swap with extras.

I particularly like winter-themed songs, and nontraditional covers (punk, jazz, tropical, electronic, etc.) of the "classics." I also have a soft spot for the vocalists and crooners of the 30s, 40s and 50s (or artists who sing in that style today). Looking forward to sharing, and being surprised. =)

I like both winter-themed songs and traditional Christmas carols. My favorites are O Holy Night and Little Drummer Boy. I do enjoy some of the modern versions of the traditional songs. I'm not big on the pop Christmas songs that come out every year by the artists du jour.

Okay, I've been trying to find a Christmassy recipe and I got nothing. Can I look online to find one? I do have one recipe that I like to make during the winter but I'm not sure if it is Christmassy. It is a sausage/cheese/potato casserole type thing.

dreamrains: you're right. if you get an excellent swap that you think the person obviously put a lot of time and effort into, be nice and give them hearts! :D

Moony: You can look online if you need to. Hmm I think the casserole should be good, you do make it in the winter around the holidays. :]

To my partner: I like all Christmas music, traditional and not. My all-time favorite Christmas song is All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey and Step Into Christmas by Elton John. I like everything though.
