Description:

There was a lot of positive response to Round 1 of Join the Club Swap, so listening to the feedback, I have extended both the sign-up & send-by periods for the 2nd round, as well as reduced the number of partners. Hopefully, this will give more people a chance to play :-). Here is the full info:

In this swap, you will invent your own club, and create a custom membership pack for each of your partners. Think about what you like to do, and what you would like to share - this swap is all about getting other people involved in whatever is important to you, and sharing your obsessions! Your club can be a book club, a promo club for your Etsy store, a craft club, or just a celebration of whatever random subject happens to be your passion (but no 'adult' or religious themes, please!). N.B. It does not have to be an entirely new club, if you already happen to run one; but the membership packs must be handmade, and must still meet the criteria outlined below.

Please make sure your membership pack includes all of the following:

  • A membership book Γ’β‚¬β€œ this should outline a 'mission statement' (eg what your club is all about), who is eligible/likely to want to join, a statement of any club rules, and any other basic, essential information relevant to your club. Your membership book can have whatever format/binding you (the club president!) prefer.

  • A membership card Γ’β‚¬β€œ including the name of your club, the name of the member, & anything else you would like to include (eg member number, date joined etc). Again, the format is up to you.

  • A club promo gift Γ’β‚¬β€œ eg button badge, bookmark, notebook, or something else relevant to your club.

  • A club newsletter Γ’β‚¬β€œ this should be a minimum of a 2-sided A4/letter-size page. It can come as a folded sheet, stapled pages, or you can make a club magazine. Feel free to add as many extra pages as you like, and include any kind of information that is relevant re. your club theme Γ’β‚¬β€œ news, reviews, projects, puzzles, or whatever else makes sense.

You will have 3 swap partners, so you will make 3 membership packs and your club will then have 3 honorary members. In return, you will receive 3 different membership packs (1 each from your 3 partners) to 3 different clubs.

Ratings of 5 or just below only, and at least 5 postal swaps. I will check through participants & remove people I think are a potential risk, so please PM me to explain any unjustified comments or ratings, and I will take that into account. There is quite a lot of work involved with each membership pack, and I don't want to see anyone disappointed in return. If you are currently signed up to Round 1, you are still welcome to join Round 2 (& get even more members for your club!) but please make sure you have sent & marked sent on Round 1, first.

Hi, I signed up for round 1 and consider round 2, but if I am allowed to sent the same package and get one ore more partners from round 1, they get the same package? :-)

Hmm, I hadn't thought of this... Okay, well I guess if you get a duplicate partner from Round 1, you should:

  • issue a 2nd (up-to-date) newsletter, so there is a sense of continuation for them - it's nearly 2 months since the last one, after all.
  • include a promo gift, which can be a duplicate of the gift in the previous round, or a new one.

then, PM your partner before the send-by date, & ask if they would prefer:
* an additional (different) promo gift
or
* a blank membership card + membership book so that your partner can give the membership package as a gift to a friend.

Does that seem reasonable?

But yes, excluding the problem of getting the same partner again, you are more than welcome to send the same package as you did in Round 1. :-)
