Description:

Hey there! Like so many others, I LOVE sending and receiving vintage postcards. Especially when they are original vintage prints from many years ago... So, if you are like me, this is the swap for you!

In this swap, you will send 1 (ONE) vintage postcard each to 3 (THREE) partners - for a total of 3 postcards.

  • Just to be clear: By "vintage", I mean an original print (no re-prints) postcard from a ways back. Let's say at least 30-40 years ago, but the OLDER the better! Most of these will probably be black and white, which is fantastic!
  • They should be sent "naked" (NO envelope), stamped, and written on. (The message written on the back should be from you to your partner, not original writing between strangers from years ago. I only say this because sometimes when you buy vintage cards, they are already written on - which can be interesting - but in this swap, we want a new message.)
  • Finally - if at all possible, try to match the card or message to what your partner likes (based on their profile)! I know vintage PC collections can vary from vary small to very large, so this isn't a requirement, but is always appreciated!

...Sorry if that's wordy, but I wanted to be thorough to avoid any confusion! :) This round of fun will be international! If you're new to Swap-Bot, you are very welcome, as long as you have a filled out profile! (It doesn't take long.) I'll check profiles to ensure no recent, [unexplained] low ratings.

Please don't hesitate to ask a question if you have one. Thanks for joining - can't wait! :)

Don't vintage postcards lose their collectible value if they bear a today's written message & stamp?

EmilyElisabeth 10/ 4/2009 #

I don't know...I don't keep mine as collectables, though. I enjoy mailing and receiving them.

they can be USED vintage, right?

EmilyElisabeth 10/ 7/2009 #

javi27: I guess it depends on what ya mean. What did you have in mind? :)

Are linen cards considered vintage? I have a lot of linen unused cards.

VaGrammy66 10/11/2009 #

Most linen cards were produced between the 1930's & 1950's.

Yes, Marija, that sounds really cool! :)
