Description:

Do you love bees? I know I do!

This is an international swap. Newbies are welcome, but please check with me first.

I really like swaps that give a list of specific items you need to include, within a theme, instead of being wide open.

So, for this swap, you'll need to include the following in your package:

1) a piece of bee-related jewelry - handmade, or otherwise.

2) bee related stationery - can simply be one card/envelope - more if you want

3) a few bee beads or charms

4) a Burts Bees product (if you can't find one, feel free to substitute)

5) another bee item of your choosing

So, it's a bit of a scavenger hunt, in a way. I want it to be a lot of fun, both to put together, and receive! Aim for hearts. :)

If you are stumped, check etsy.com - I've seen some amazing bee-related stuff there!

The name of this swap got my attention. I am a real fan of the Bert's Bees line. Would love to be included.....

Oh I love bees! I am into letterboxing and I just found a letterbox called The Bees Knees with a hand carved bee stamp -- it was planted at a living history farm with an apiary! :-)))

This swap sounds like FUN, I'm in! I realize you say newbies are welcome and there is one newbie signed up for this and THIRTY SIX other swaps. I realize we all started somewhere but it has been my experience that people signed up for lots of swaps (even seasoned swappers) usually end up sending late, not at all, or junky items as it's pretty easy to become overwhelmed with THAT many swaps. I definitely don't want to be giving off negative vibes here but just thought I'd voice my conern, thanks!!! :O)

Thanks for the heads-up, Kiki! I stated that newbies are welcome if they message me first, and I haven't heard from anyone yet. I'll keep an eye on the situation - I totally get your concern.

I'm such a bee geek. I need to make a video of my organic garden - my son and I counted about a hundred bees today going nuts over my borage flowers. It is quite a sight! There's a guy down the road who raises bees, and I think his bees spend the better part of their day in my yard. :)

Meadow, I've been wanting to get into letterboxing for a long time now! A hand-carved bee stamp sounds very cool - any chance you have a photo of it?

Yes but I am not allowed to share it online as that is very bad form in letterboxing. I'm afraid you have to find the box yourself. :-)

Meadow.....

My husband and I enjoy geocaching and try to go out at least once each weekend. I had read about the letterboxing and thought it would be just as much fun. And just as you said, smartcakes, I thought it would be neat to design and carve our own stamp.
Well, have a most bee-utiful day. :-)

If it helps, Bath & Body Works is moving out their 'Savannah Bee' collection of bath/body/home items. I think they're 75% off - they also had 100% beeswax taper candles.

MissyChrissy -- letterboxing started in Dartmoor in the 1850's and it's called letterboxing bc that is what British mailboxes were called back then. [not sure what they are called now]

So if you want to letterbox, the UK is the place to do it!!!!
