Description:

On November 11th, many of us take time to remember those who have fought and sometimes given up their lives in battle. In Canada, we refer to it as Remembrance Day. In the U.S., it is referred to as Veterans Day. I am sure that all of us have stories that have are part of our family heritage involving someone who was involved in the armed services and has a story which has moved you.

I don't mean to glorify war - I just hope that we can talk about how it has given us freedom and a more lasting peace because of war.

For this swap, we will write a page long letter detailing this story and sending it to one swap partner. Also, we will send a hand made or store bought bookmark which will also serve as a reminder of sacrifices that have been made and to celebrate the freedoms that we have because of these sacrifices.

I'm really sorry to drop this swap. I've spent the last almost 2 weeks making my bookmark but I'm really not happy with the quality of it. We don't have any local places where I could buy one and our local libraries don't supply or sell bookmarks. I wouldn't feel right sending my bookmark out in the swap as I don't think it would be up to the standard of most swappers. I'll keep trying and hopefully I'll become good enough to join a future a swap.
