Description:

I know Marie Antoinette may be old hat or done to death lately for some of you, but I have never created a Marie doll. I have seen tons of ideas, and there is even a Stampington publication dedicated to all things Marie A.

For this swap you are going to create not only a a doll of Marie Antoinette that stands between 8 to 12 inches tall, but you are also going to create a BACKDROP for the doll. That means you are going to make a folder or stage or piece of scenery on which to display her!

You may use a doll you have drawn from scratch, a template doll, a rubber-stamped doll, a doll you have down-loaded from the internet - whatever. She may be jointed or unjointed. Your choice. Clothes for this doll must be removeable as we want to see the layers of exquisite clothing you create for this period fashionista.

Her face does not have to be an exact replica of the real M.A. We are looking for the essence. The hair, the time period, clothing, accessories, etc.

Please strive for the glamour and bling of this Queen's very existence. Dolls should be well-made, and as always, doll and backdrop should be mounted on heavy cardstock, thin cardboard or tagboard.

I would love to join this swap but the dolls I make are mixed media ones and do not have removable clothes. Sorry.

I make mixed media dolls as well, there are many ways to make clothing for a doll removeable. the undergarments are not removeable. The dress can go on any number of ways if you think outside the box.Check out lilspotteddogs doll in the flickr photos. She is shown with her dress off, Her dress had tabs that held it on. On my blog I have one that is tied on with ribbon. http://jewelrydoll180.blogspot.com Peace, B.
