Description:

I got the idea from this swap http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/47415#comment-266556 but our host was partially suspended. Since we loved the idea, however, I wanted to make it possible. If she does come back, I'll return the idea to her. But I don't want to count on that... You know, just in case.

So we'll be doing a card swap every week of 2010 (I think that math is right?), and sending out on Mondays. If you want to get a whole deck, you should join all swaps!

How it works: We'll each buy a regular-sized poker deck (which, lucky for us, are 3.5x2.5) and decorate them however we want. The only rule is that the corner suit and number must be left uncovered. If you decide to use watercolors or something that wouldn't work on coated cards, I ask that you print out a card and attach one of the original corners.

The original swap had one partner, but since this is so awesome an idea, and I'm a little bit greedy, I want to have two decks instead of one. So I'm assigning two partners.

4.5 rating required, newbies must contact me first. I will angel if necessary.

You should note that these are APCs not ATCs, since they're different :P Thank you so much for making these swaps! I didn't even notice the host for the others was partially suspended (not that I really know what that means!).

Also, according to swap bot, the requirement for an APC is one uncovered corner, like the image you have shows..do you still want both uncovered?

Oh, leaving one would work too. -edit-

Thanks for both comments! =D

I read online that you can use paints on playing cards if you lightly sand first to take the slick finish off.... just FYI!

I really love this idea, but I am not sure I can do 2 a week...plus the other swaps I like to do, so I think I will have to pass this time...

You can also apply gesso to cards to give a base to pain just about any kind of paint onto.

Please do not send a photo copied card... the point is that it is an altered PLAYING CARD. Most medium will work on cards. the sand paper will work as well as finger nail polish. Sharpies, acrylic paint, alcohol inks...lots of media will affix itself to poker type cards with no trouble and what ever happens is just part of the intrigue of your card. have fun with it and experiment!

I know I'm new, but I'd love to join this swap... My daughter and I are addicted to Inchies, so this seems like a fun challenge, Thanks
