Description:

If you are at least 50 years old and want a new pen pal for the new year, this is the place to be. I want to start off the new year (and new decade) with new things and people. I cherish my old friends and pen pals, but I would like a new one as a gift to myself for the 2010-2019 decade. I have never created swap, so this is new, too. This swap is restricted to USA only so a 44 cent stamp, an envelope and a couple of sheets of paper are all you will need to complete your end of this swap. You will write an introductory letter to only 1 partner. Please let it be enough let your partner know a little about you and what you like. Hopefully, we will all end up a with a new life long friend. Sign up by 15 Jan 2010 and send out your letter by 25 Jan 2010, that way we should all get our "new" pen friend during the first month of this new decade. Good luck!

I am so excited you've started this swap and so excited to have a new pen pal for the new year. Thanks a bunch, Doskie

Can the letters be typed on the computer & printed, or do they have to be hand written. My handwriting is horrible!

I have the same question about typing the letters...I really prefer to type my letters and send a handwritten 'note' along with. I can say a LOT more before my hand gets gnarly and tired ;+) I'm very excited to get a "regular" pen pal! Hope this swap brings joy to us all.

I just got a lovely typed letter from another swap. Perfect for these "at least 50 years old" eyes. I like isabella's idea of a typed letter and handwritten "note" along with.

Will we have one, or, two, partners to write to ?

I ask, because Swap-Bot assignes a person to send to, and, a person to receive from....

Soo... Would we write to the person we Receive From And the person we would Send To ?

Would we be assigned a partner to send to. then it is up to the receiver if she wants to continue writing? Then the other the same thing, so we would end up with two new friends? One we rate and the other rated on?
