Description: | |
Let's get our furry friends involved in our swapping! My dog, Gizmo, loves when I make him treats at home, but I usually only make cookies for him during Christmas time when I'm making them for my friends and family as well. This year I ran out of time before Christmas to make dog treats, so I thought, what better way to get him a variety of treats than to swap with others! You will make a dozen medium-sized treats (think a bit larger than original Milkbone treats), or 2-dozen small-sized treats for 2 of your partners' doggy-pals. Alternately, you can purchase homemade treats from local dog bakeries, or Etsy, for example, if you're not a baker. Just please don't send regular ole' store-bought treats. If you do a search in Google for "Dog Treat Recipes" you'll get thousands of hits. This should be a fairly cost-effective swap since most people have the main ingredients for dog treats in their kitchen. Please please make sure you pack your dog treats securely so they don't bust up in the mail, and be sure to include a note with the swap name and your username. I will be packing my treats in a "disposable" plastic container (I found a set of 4 3-cup containers at the grocery store yesterday for $4). Once the cookies are in, stuff all the open space with wax paper, and close tightly. Once closed, tape the container so it doesn't bust open in the mail. This is a USA only swap, since customs laws for baked goods are iffy. Everyone in the USA is welcome in this swap, including newbies, as long as you have a completed profile and a 4.9 rating. So in summary:
Have fun and give those cute doggies a treat! |
