This is swap for handmade earrings, handmade by you!

This is an international swap, as earrings are small and relatively lightweight, and therefore won't cost an arm and a leg (and your first born) to ship.

You will have two partners and you will make one pair of earrings for each partner.

You can use any media for this (beads, wire, foam, paper, clay, shrink plastic, fabric, fiber, found objects, hardware) and any technique. Just make sure that what you use is clean, safe, and not too heavy.

You can be traditional in your designs or you can choose to think outside the norm and try different media or techniques you might not have used before. Just be sure that your finished earrings look nice, are something you'd like to receive yourself, and that you would be proud to send out to someone else. If you want to tailor them to your partners' preferences you can, but that's not required.

If you have any metal allergies (or fiber allergies, etc), please note that below so that your partners are aware.

Make sure you include a little note stating who you are and what swap the earrings are for, so that your partners know who to thank!

You will have three weeks after partners have been assigned to make your earrings. That should be plenty of time.

The Rules:

You must have a rating of 4.5 or better, participated in/rated for at least 5 swaps, and have no recent no-sends (however, if they are unjust 1 ratings, PM me, we'll talk). I reserve the right to remove anyone from my swap for reasons that may or may not be stated here, but know that I will contact you first if I have any questions about including you in the swap. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but I also want to be fair to those in the swap and do what I can to ensure they all receive something.

If you don't plan to send, don't sign up. That's just rude and its unfair to your partners who won't be receiving anything. If something comes up after partners have been assigned, and you don't think you'll be able to send, please contact me AND your partners to let us know.

Please be sure to rate your partners when your earrings arrive, its the polite thing to do.

i love to make earrings, too - especially when i can make them for someone else! i will check profiles when partners are assigned for colors, allergies, etc. . or let me know here! as for me, i love any kind of dangle earrings, and my favorite colors are dark reds, blues, greens, purples . . . what a great swap!

I will be taking a look at who all signed up and will assign partners on Sunday the 29th. I won't be able to log in on Saturday to assign them first thing :( So check back on Sunday for your partners! Thanks to everyone who signed up. I have to have earrings that are suitable for sensitve ears. The basic posts available at craft stores hurt my ears. If possible sterling silver posts would be best for me. Thanks!

I am allergic to nickel. Hooks are best because I change them if they bother me. I like quite long, dramatic unusual earrings - the colours I like are in my profile.

Hi, I like dangle earrings, but not extra long (something 1.5 inches or longer BUT NOT touching shoulder is fine). Prefer something bold. I don't like eyebeads (the really small plastic beads).

Prefer blue, white, lime colours. Any other colours combined with one or more of my favourite colours are fine.

I must have hook ear wire for the ear part (like "question mark" shape) since my ear got sensitive to the traditional kind of style. (if you don't get what I mean I could send you picture).

I like short dangle earrings with beads. Favourite colours are mixed colour beads (tonal), green, dusky pinks, leaves, silver. Experiments with other materials is great & anything Japanese inspired would be good too! Thanks so much...

I personally have had a ridiculously crazy and stressful past two weeks, so I am extending the send by date for this swap for a couple of days. That way, if anyone else needs just a few more day themselves, you have it.
