Description:

Did this swap back in Jan 09 and had over 100 + swapers. Lets have some fun and do it again!!!

This is a loose button swap. Who doesn't have a bunch of loose mixed buttons. Did you forget what it went to? Do you throw all the extras in a tin or drawer? Here is your chance to unload some of them. In this swap you will have one partner to send 10 buttons to. These are not on a card, but loose buttons. Goodwill, and other thrift stores often have bins of buttons, as well as walmart or other box stores. Find the 10 most interesting ones you can, or find the 10 ones you just can't find to go with anything and and ship them off to your partner. Who knows they may just be loved by the new owner. Nothing else is reguirred, but if your package contains anything other than buttons, Perhaps give a heart if so inclined.

I would love to see button from other places. I have jars of buttins by color, does that make me an addict? lol I would be glad to share some of my collection with another. :D

Is anyone else finding it hard to choose JUST 10? Wish the count was 20.....

YAY FOR BUTTONS! 1) Thank you for opening this up to newbies; that was very kind! 2) Can we attach the buttons we chose to a card so that they can be mailed in a regular envelope or do they have to be loose and mailed in a small bubble envelope? Thanks! ~Lisa

I too have my buttons sorted by color...I have them in gallon size ziploc bags and then sorted in tubs. Within the gallon bags are smaller bags of matching buttons. Sometimes I will spend a weekend just sorting. I have issues lol

You can put buttons in the small jewerly type zip locks...zip it almost close...sqeeze all the air out...finish zipping it up...and the button will stay pretty much in the same place. Or...we could tape them with painters blue tape which won't leave a residue on the buttons. Just a few hints... I'm ready to get started!!!!

I dont have many extra buttons-only 1 sandwich size ziplock about half full-I use any button thats about 5/8 to 3/4 inches on the tops of crocheted towels.

I use buttons on handmade clothing. Interesting geometric shapes, very old buttons and buttons with shanks are nice. Novelty shapes that are used for embellishing don't fit through button holes very well. It's nice to have a few that are the same since they are functional on the clothing I make. If you stick them on a card to try to send them in a 44 cent envelope, I think the post office sorting machinery might crack some of them. And to do that, they would need to be pretty flat and all the same thickness which might take some of the fun out of choosing which ones to send. Choosing just ten is like eating just one potato chip. I'm sure I'll send more.

oh, drooling over the swappers who have them by color etc. I just started a button jar and it is about one quarter filled. I aspire to have so many that I can start sorting by color. yeah, fun swap!!

Marsha907 I love buttons, always have. I have mine sorted by colors in an old typesetters drawer. Looks cool.

I've just sewn mine onto a little picture I drew. All my buttons are really bizarre but cute :) so hard to pick just 10 though!

Sunnysue 03/ 4/2010 #

Sent mine today; didn't know there were so many like me, who love to "play" with buttons! My friend was just given a gallon jar full, and we spent an evening "sorting" on her living room floor! Fun!!!

I am new to swap bot, am having trouble finding my swap partner on this one, obviously I will keep trying. I am in other swaps and have sent out one swap already and have the address for two others. So don't know why accessing my partner for this one is proving difficult!

denimblu14 03/ 5/2010 #

Hooray! Found my swap partner.

Uups, I have forgot to klick the send button - I´ve sent it on Monday!

adoluxia 03/10/2010 #

i think i'm having bad luck with swap-bot and i need to take this as a sign to just quit once and for all... i packed and sent my buttons on monday only to find the envelope in my mail box this morning because i didn't use enough postage :/ i weighed it but i guess i miscalculated. in the same mail today i got my partners package of buttons, it too had insufficient postage but instead of returning it to sender i have to pay the extra postage. what should i do? i'm terrified my partner will rate me down for not sending on time. i've run into so many horrible people on this site that chew me out on the smallest things. i've already contacted her and sent her a photo as proof but i'm still scared. with the other package i received, i'm annoyed and want to return to sender...
