Darn it Raven. I was going to slow down with my swaps for awhile & then you go & have a great swap that I can't pass up. Thank you for inviting me!! This one will be fun & I already have it in my head what I am going to do. I will probably end up making 2 ATC's for each partner because I have 2 ideas.

redwing480 07/16/2007 #

I would love to join, but just cannot commit to any more during this time frame, Do you think you will run it again at a later time?

user7902 07/16/2007 #

Thank you for the invite Raven - I'm in.

ArtfulAmy 07/16/2007 #

I'm in if this site will only let me in. Thanks for the invite Raven. Diane

raven 07/17/2007 #

Ladydy5 You are most welcome, and I am honored to have you be a part of my swap....

raven 07/17/2007 #

Redwing480 I sure hope to be able to do this swap again or at least one very much like it. I know how busy some of us are, and only have so much time to craft. But if I do get to host this one again, you can consider yourself already invited to join..Look froward to swapping with you..Raven

Cocoa 07/17/2007 #

Thanks Raven, This looks like fun.

bluecrayons 07/19/2007 #

thanks for the invite..

LINBUR0100 07/23/2007 #

I must not have noticed that this was only one per partner when I signed up; I'd love to participate, but can't justify the postage when it's only one card per person. Thanks.

Lindy 07/23/2007 #

Thank your for the invitation Raven. I will enjoy the swap.

Hi all, I'm very interested in this swap! I'm a newbie to ATC's, but have always wanted a nice straightforward ATC swap to start with and this looks like it! But, I do have a dumb question... If you are using a piece of cardstock and cover the front with newspaper (or let's say any type of paper, for other swaps), do you typically cover the back as well? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Kessie 07/28/2007 #

I'm very new to ATCs too, but personally I usually cover the back with something, because by the time I've finished the front, the back is usually covered in bits of glue and smears of paint and looks so messy! I wouldn't necessarily use newspaper on the back though - maybe just coloured paper that co-ordinates well with the rest of the design. You're supposed to write your name, date etc. on the back too, so sometimes it's easiest to do that neatly on a seperate piece of paper then glue it on...

Ok, as another ATC newbie, I too have a couple of questions: How thick can an ATC be - is it ok if it has very chunky embellishments on it? Should an ATC always be viewed in an upright 'portrait' position, like a normal playing card? Or could I design some which have an image in a 'landscape' format?

raven 07/28/2007 #

Thanks Kessie I think that you answered Skwerl81's question better than I could have...To answer your question I have some really thick ATC's and they work just fine. I measure mine by, if they will fit into one of those plastic sleeves, if they go in then they will be just fine, also I have many ATC's that are in the 'landscape' format and I see nothing wrong with them...I think ATC's should be make to your own individual style, that's what make them so interesting. Each one I get I keep in my collection, and I enjoy looking at them and seeing all the different ways people have of interpreting a theme...Don't worry to much just do your thing and have fun with it...

tannermom 07/28/2007 #

Sounds like fun! I can't resist -- no willpower! Same with chocolate! Really need help! This is such an addiction! OK...sign me up!

Bearpaw 07/29/2007 #

OK, another question from an ATC novice. What size are ATC's?

raven 07/29/2007 #

Deb ATC's are 2.5"x 3.5", or 64x89mm.

magicjessnrach 07/30/2007 #

I have some scanned pages from an old herbal remedy book that I would love to use as a background for this swap. Would that be ok or is it stretching the rules too much?

user9928 07/30/2007 #

i am really new! this is my first swap and something I do everyday at that! I am really excited!

raven 07/30/2007 #

Magicjessnrach That sounds like a cool ideal and I think that would be just fine...
