April ATC: original art! (drawing, painting)

Collages aren't art?

well the object is to use drawing techniques, or painting, I do love collages since I'm since I feel like mine are getting better but I also need to work on my drawing.

I am a mixed media artist and I was taught classical drawing. So I am going to give this a shot. Drawing requires a different mind set for me, which is usually a lot of focus at one time and sitting still for that length, as opposed to photography and mixed media where I am constantly moving.These cards are small so I will be able to produce a quality one.

Im a drawer and a doodler, but only at 3 in the morning. I drew the face up there in the corner, Unfortunatly I can only do 1 eye, so thats why all my faces have hair hanging in thier faces,

Does the art, what you draw or paint have to depict something about the month of April? I'm not very good at drawing but I want to learn so please would my partner be gentle with me? But I would really like constructive critism.

If anyone would like some handouts on classical drawing methods I would be happy to send.It teaches you to break all objects down to basic shapes to get proportion and scale correct. And then work up to detail.Also working from a still life, drawing from observation is key to this method as it forces you to read the info in front of you as opposed to recalling models from memory.

bummer, I can not draw but my daughter is quite the artist and I use some of her artwork in my ATCs & other handmade items but when I use them I have made copies on photo paper or cardstock using the computer & printer so I guess this is not considered hand drawn, I also use embossing brass templates but then again I guess that is not handrawn since I'm using a template/stencil of sorts

yes, put something in the card that has to do with april, but that leaves the options wide open, because there is more to april than just Easter. april can mean soft pastel colors, flowers, spring, new leaves on trees. rain. If you think your card might be misunderstood by your partner, send a note along explaining it, .

Ok. I had written my partner about needing a little extra time. Just want to post here too so it doesn't look like I'm a flaker or anything. =P I just started a new job and was transitioning out of the old job, so there just was no time at all.
