Description:

In this swap you will be sending your partner coffee from a local, independent coffee roaster in your area and a mixed CD of your favorite indie tunes with a cover art insert created by you.

Coffee must be packaged in a bag that has a company logo and info that clearly displays where the coffee came from (A business card will also do if they do not have custom printed bags). Please specify below what sort of coffee you prefer: with or without caffiene, whole beans or ground, favorite roasts or flavors...

The mixed CD should contain 12-15 of your favorite indie tunes and the cover insert should be original art made by you. Altered art, collage, sketches, painting, etc. Be creative with this and put some effort into it. This swap is as much about the art as it is the coffee and music.

Expect to spend around $20 total (this includes factoring in the blank CD and materials used to create your art work, in addition to the coffee and shipping. Your total may actually be a bit less).

I would love to go international with this, but I think the price of postage to send approx. 1# worth of coffee overseas (in addition to the price of the coffee) would make this rather cost prohibitive for most swappers. A bag of coffee from our local roaster costs around $11-$12.

I personally LOVE dark roasted coffee (like French Roast) and prefer whole beans with all the caffiene intact.

I'd like bold coffee. thanks in advance :))

I could send out a bag from Roos Roast - http://www.roosart.com/roosroast/ - but his bags don't really show where they come from. We also have a small co-op called Brewing Hope here in Ann Arbor, but they're more of a distributor than roaster: http://www.highergroundstrading.com/brewing-hope/info_38.html While local students are key members in the co-op, the coffee comes from Mexico, and the bag's label reflects this....

So, I would like to play but I don't have anything that completely matches the swap requirements. Any chance you could relax the rules?

If you could throw in a business card that would be great. I just think its important that your swap partner is able to contact the coffee roaster- you know, check out a website, send an email, call. That way if they want to try and order more or look up the area where the coffee came from, they are able to do so.

Sorry for this question, but, what is indie music. I'm musically challenged and would appreciate the help. Yikes!

Indie music is music produced by independent artists that are not part of major record lables. Indie music is not something you'd hear on mainstream radio stations- google World Cafe and check out some of the music they showcase on thier radio show aired on public radio stations nationwide. If you do not have any indie music in your music library, ask around- someone you know (hip neighbor, co-worker, etc.) may be able to help you out.
